After a tumultuous career as a criminal defense attorney, Ellery Durand enjoys life without tales of drugs, death, and double-crossing. Until she wakes up one morning to find her bank accounts frozen, her face on the front page, and the peace she’s come to treasure shattered in the wake of an FBI investigation. Can she convince the agent in charge to trust her? Can she trust the feelings that grow between them?

After years investigating heinous crimes, FBI Behavioral Analyst Sarah Flores welcomes a transfer to white-collar crime and the chance to have a life of her own. Her relief is short-lived when her first case involves a terrorist plot, and all signs indicate the terrorists’ attorney constructed the framework of their evil conspiracy. Attracted to Ellery from the start, can she trust her instincts to lead her to the truth or will their attraction cast doubt on everything she holds dear?

Suspenseful, romantic and page turning! You can't go wrong with a Carsen Taite book! The story is compelling and breathtaking in its suspense. I'd love to read more about Ellery and Sarah! Hint hint! 5 stars!

I enjoyed this - fast moving and a reasonable plot. A good pot boiler. The characters are reasonable. I confess, ever time I had to put it down I looked forwards to resuming reading.

Consequence: because of this book I've subsequently bought about four more written by this author.

I have ready all of Carsen's books. She a great writer with wit, humor and drama. In "Reasonable Doubt" Ellery Durant a former criminal defense lawyer had hung up her briefcase for a slower life. Then one day, her entire life changes...she's a criminal and has no liquid assests. FBI Behavioral Analyst wants to settle down and changes the fast-paced life on the East Coast for a slower one in Texas. We all know everything is bigger in Texas so you can imagine how terrorism and conspiracy can such Sarah right back into where she ran from. But this time she's after Ellery Durant. Is Ellery innocent or playing the FBI? Sarah takes a chance on Ellery in more ways than one. Will you?

Totally captivated by the writing. After reading numerous and never-ending lot of books that have grammatical errors or stories that are a bit immature, this a much needed breath of fresh air. Thank you, Ms Taite :)
I only have good things to say. The storyline is exciting, protagonists are smart, beautiful and likeable, and loads of sexual tension.
Looking forward to more of such stories.

The book is fine. I just think that there were scenes that were rushed. Having lived through 9/11 in NYC, I think more time could have been taken with some of the issues that surrounded the bombing. Trying not to give anything away.

This is my second Carsen Taite book. I'm so glad that I discovered her. I'm not sure she would approve of me reading her work on my tablet, but that's where I found her.
This was a very interesting story of trust, adventure and finding love at the end. Just the kind of book I love - girl meets girl....girl gets girl, lol. So much material in between that made this a book I looked forward to picking up every spare moment I could find.

I've read all of Ms. Taite's books and generally like them. They're a quick read with rather likable characters. This book, however, did not live up to my expectations. So much time was spent on plot manipulation that I thought the main characters were not as well developed as I would have liked. The ending provided no real closure--everything is supposed to work out somehow. In all fairness, I have to say that the minute the author revealed she didn't know the difference between "stationery" and "stationary" or the difference between "effect" and "affect," my teeth were on edge. Thereafter, I read the book more critically than I probably would have otherwise. I expected better of this author and Bold Strokes Books.

Lord I hope there is a sequel to this story. I really enjoyed the pacing and I even enjoyed the fact that I found Sarah Flores initially annoying. However, and I am sure this is by design, Ellery was the more interesting character.
My only complaint is the ending. Although, it was a logical point to conclude the story, I wanted to know more. What happens between Ellery and her Dad,Meg, her career, the aftermath. Hence the desire for a sequel.
