Description Mild steel "Pipe Electrode" is an all-purpose electrode used in all positions. A deep penetrating electrode for carbon & galvanized steel. 6010 is for use with a DC welder & runs on DCEP (reverse polarity). A mild steel all position electrode with strong arc force for deep penetration. Fast freezing & rapid solidification facilitates welding in vertical and overhead positions. Allows for east clean-up. A mild steel, all position, general-purpose electrode, which deposits smoothly with medium to shallow penetration. Medium to heavy slagis easily removed. An iron powder type, all position electrode. Smooth arc characteristics, good arc stability, low spatter which produces medium to low penetration. Low hydrogen, all position electrode which produces highest quality x-ray welds. The low hydrogen content provides high strength & toughness without cracking down the center of the bead. Low hydrogen, all position electrode which is designed for use on AC welders. Much easier starting & smoother running than conventional 7018 electrode which does not run well on older 180 & 225 amp machines. High strength.

Application It is ideal for welding through light to medium amounts of dirt, rust or paint. The strong arc force makes this electrode perfect for rusty steel. Can be used in a wide range of applications such as plain or galvanized tanks, steel casting repair, machinery parts, construction, pressure pipe, etc. Can be used in situations where poor fit up in joints has occurred. Small diameters are well adapted to low heat on thin metals. Great on all types of mild steel fabrications & repairs where ease of operation & good appearance are important. Of all the electrodes, E7018 is the easiest to use. It is suitable for all types of mild steel fabrication; particularly sheet metal, ornamental ironwork and poor fit up joints. Excellent for welding harden able steels with no preheat. Can also be used on cold roll steel exhibiting excessive porosity when welding with conventional electrodes.
