Incredibly precise tool for paint chip repair.
If you appreciate your car's paint, this should be a tool in your arsenal. Very easy to use, and allows you to apply paint exactly where you need it. Just dab your finger every now and then to keep the paint flowing.Cleaning isn't the easiest, but I found that filling the reservoir with isopropyl alcohol or a paint thinning solution, and using the red cap to inject air through the needle to be effective for cleaning. I also found that swirling around a detail brush soaked in alcohol in the resevoir helped clear it as well.Highly recommendeded!

I watched an online video of a pro-detailer repairing rock chips in the hood of a car far more expensive than my vehicle with this tool. I bought some factory touch up paint (from Amazon) and used this pen. No globs, perfect coverage. Just the right amount of paint coming out to cover bare metal without presenting as raised. Now, some of that has to do with skill and I practiced on a piece of paper prior to taking it to my vehicle. Only thing I wished I would have done was thin the paint out a little bit since the opening is so small. The pain can glob up on the inside and not come out of the hole evenly. Thinning the paint a little bit would prevent this. If you're a DIY fixer and are looking to fix some of those unsightly rock chips on your hood/bumper, for the price of this and some touch-up paint it's worth the attempt. Worse case, you wipe the paint off before it dries and get it fixed professionally.

The pen works great. I've used it for years and bought another to have a backup. I've thinned down paint with water for use, but mostly I use inks or airbrush acrylics as they are already the perfect consistency for this pen. The color can be easily inserted into the well with a dropper (many inks come with one screwed onto the bottle) or a toothpick. When loading it, I force some ink through using a dropper so that the ink is already at the tip and is ready to write. For those having trouble with the ink flow, if the ink is coming out in a "blob" or puddle, it is way too thin, and if it isn't coming out at all, it is either too thick or there is an air bubble in the ink in the well (stir it with a paperclip to get rid of it or flush it through the tip with a dropper filled with color). For cleanup, run under water and use the included cleaning tool and/or scrub with an old toothbrush to remove residue. I also like to flush the well & tip with a dropper full of clean water.

This is a must have tool for auto body touch up for tiny nicks and stone chips in the paint. allows you to pinpoint in incredibly small jump in your paint without getting the touch up paint on the good paint on your car.. The built-in brochures on touch up paint or simply too large for fine detail work. Be sure to have paint thinner/solvent ready to wash out the tiny cup to prevent the moves your hall from becoming clogged. At this price I part two, one for the base paint and one for the clearcoat. After filling the chip and compounding the paint once it was dried, the defects disappear

One suggestion I saw on ammo.com, a professional detailer , Is to go ahead and mix the clearcoat in with the base color paint for these really tiny small defects that you are touching up

Bought this with the intention of signing with oil paints. It’s incredibly tricky to get the right ink-like consistency with oils (the water-soluble kind, fyi), but it is absolutely feasible. Took a few days to get comfy with using the tool, but I’m so glad I snagged one.

The painting pen itself is sturdy and has a nice weight to it. Just be sure to clean both the pen and the cleaning tool immediately after use 👍🏽

Worked AMAZING with non-metallic Paint Scratch brand touch up paint for BMW. I went into this knowing it would be a one-time use item, so I bought two. The touch up paint I was using would dry pretty quickly and the nozzle, causing the nozzle to clog frequently. The easy solution was to regularly unclog it with the tool that comes with it, and wiping dried paint off of the tool after each unclogging. The amount of precision this thing has is amazing after you get the hang of it, it even worked on vertical surfaces if you got the paint flowing well on a horizontal surface first.

Love this....genius!! I am amazed at how well this works for me. It's nice not to have to keep dipping a brush in paint, it just keeps on going. Even works great on rocks. Great flow, doesn't glob out or quit in the middle of a word. Just thin out your paint with a bit of water. Highly recommend.

I am not an expert with painting brushes or pens! I am just a hobbyist painter who has trouble drawing straight lines with a brush.. So I researched how can one draw a straight line on a canvas without spending hundreds on different colored pens! And Voila.. This pen is super helpful in drawing thin lines in which ever color you want! Disadvantage: It does take time to LEARN the consistency required to fill the "well" in order for this pen to work! Keep a spare paper next to you while filling it. But once you learn this, this pen is superfun to use! I was able to draw an intricate Henna design on a canvas using this pen! It comes with a needle like "device" which can help clear any residue which might be blocking the nib/tip! Dont lose it! LOL.. Cleaning is simple.. Run warm water and it cleans all the paint out! It can never rust and its well made.. But slamming it on the ground will definitely damage it! Also work is needed to gauge the correct technique of holding it upright! Overall i am happy with this purchase.. No delays.. Gave 3 stars as its not as ready made as the expensive pens available! Have fun!
