The gun shoots far better than my Gog Extcy in terms of accuracy, smoothness, and loudness. I haven't had a single problem with this gun in the 4 outings I've used it. I love the fact I don't need to stress about my battery not being charged. My Gog Extcy has been out of commission due to a hose on the inside coming lose, so in the meantime I was using my trusty Tippmann 98 until I could fix it. I got fed up with having to deal with the Extcy and the crap performance of an old Tippmann so I went out and bought an Emek after running into a couple guys at my field who were using and loving them. After going from a Tippmann to an Emek the difference in EVERYTHING is night and day. The weight, accuracy, smoothness of the shot, recoil, and noise were all vastly improved. This thing is basically a Tippmann 2.0. If you are just starting out and would like a massive upgrade over the Tippmanns that you are most likely renting, go ahead and buy yourself an Emek.
I am using this gun with a 48/45 Empire tank and just a crappy gravity-fed loader (I have a PAL loader on order atm) and the stock barrel. I am seriously considering buying the Deadlywind Null carbon fiber barrel for the weight savings and cool factor. This gun is super light, as advertised, but not in a bad way. When I first read the info on this gun I saw where they mentioned the gun is made out of a "composite" and i immediately figured the gun would have a cheap build quality. Fortunately I was wrong, and the quality of the gun actually surprised me. The body is made out of some type of "reinforced polymer" or something, and it is amazing. It has a hardness that is way above regular plastic and is very close to metal. Overall it does not feel cheap or anything of the sort, and this is coming from someone that usually has higher standards than average.
Overall, this gun is a must-buy if you want a mechanical marker that has the shot quality and accuracy of a gun that costs much more.

I have had a played with a couple TippManns (98 and A5) and they are great - like AK47s - you have to really try to make them stop or fail.
BUT
I have a DEER problem in my backyard and they eat all the shrubs and I can't just shoot em' all even with an air rifle which is not deadly but probably causes more damage than desired as a deterrent.
Well the EMEK 1000 (it is ok with the stock barrel and BETTER with an upgrade) is accurate enough to hit them at up to 50yrds effectively.
After an aimed shot or two and hitting one - I then let loosed as fast as I can pull the trigger to hit any remaining animals.
It is fun and it is effective. The deer are learning that this yard is not a FREE salad bar.
I guess it works well on the paintball field too.
It is more accurate than my Tippmanns (even with thier upgraded barrels) and even more so with the upgraded barrel (Deadlywind Null Barrel 16"0).
I found a gravity hopper worked fine but did take and shake to get continuous feed now and again.
The PAL hopper for abt $20 works like a charm. No sticking, works as fast as I can pull the trigger !
