Noah was almost like Katie's own guardian angel which is what lead up to him being sentenced to prison. Katie made many attempts to visit and contact Noah while in jail but he shut her out so she went on with her life as a single mom and tried to get all thoughts of Noah Reid out of her mind. Ten years have gone by and Noah is finally being released and Katie is the first person he wants to see though that want definitely isn't reciprocated by Katie. He has his work cut out for him and he will stop at nothing to rebuild the friendship they once had. The story that ensues of them reminiscing and coming clean of how they felt all those years ago was so touching....seriously it was so tender and heartfelt. Noah doesn't have a bad bone in his body, he is just the absolute sweetest and it is so hard not to fall in love with him. Katie is a headstrong woman who is laser focused on her son and the home she is trying to give them. You can't not want them together. This is the third book in the Ex-Con series and I couldn't wait to dive into it. I tried so hard to pace myself but it just wasn't possible because I had to know what was coming next. There was never a good stopping point in this one. I loved how often Tyler and Gemma pop up along with Everleigh and Jerry. Getting to see a bit more of Jerry and Belinda was another plus for me....they are just so adorable. All I can say now is that I don't know how I will wait a month for the next book to release. Congratulations Kennedy Fox, you have once again given your readers an amazing story

Pushing You Away is the first book in Noah & Katie’s duet and this is the second set of books in the Ex Con Duet Series. Katie and Noah are childhood best friends, they grew up together and it was expected they would be together throughout their life but Noah’s cousin Gabe got in before Noah had a chance to let Katie know his feelings and that’s where this tragic story starts. Noah ends up in jail for a tragic accident after confronting Gabe in a bar for having an affair and the consequences of that night leave Katie to raise her son alone..... Fast forward 10 years and Noah is home but like all small towns the only people happy to see him are his father, his sister and her partner so will life ever be the same for the man who has never forgotten his first love and will Katie ever open up to the feelings she still has for the man who stole her heart all those years ago..... This starts off as a tragic, sad, emotional story but as you turn the pages you get to know the characters and I’m sure like me you will be wishing and hoping they find away to get past the past. Pushing You Away touched me on so many levels and this beautifully written first instalment has left me needing book 2, Holding You Close. I understand we won’t be waiting to long for the conclusion to Noah and Katie’s story and honestly it can’t come quick enough. This book tore at my heartstrings as I fell hook, line and sinker for this couple and their families and this book has left me with one of my biggest book hangovers of the year. I highly recommend you one click this must read.

This angsty friends to lovers book will not disappoint. If you love Kennedy fox books you know what I mean when you can't put it down. Noah and Katie's story this is book one in the Ex-Con Duet is one with a lot of history. This book wraps you up from the start. They are childhood friends who have always had a thing for one another but they never acted on their feelings all those years. Katie ends up dating Noah's cousin Gabe things are good until Katie is pregnant and Gabe is up tp his usual of not being faithful. Noah catches Gabe at the bar with another woman and confronts him and this is where the situation gets bad.... This is the moment lies change for ever. Noah s sent to prison for 10 years. "When I caught Gabe cheating on his pregnant wife, I snapped. A deadly fight erupted and before I could comprehend what happened, I was charged with his murder and sent to prison." Noah had a lot of what ifs and he pushes Katie away while he is in prison. When he is released he tries to seek her out but it wont be easy. He will have to work for it. The ten years Katie is with out Gabe and Noah she is raising an amazing boy. He is sweet and keeps Katie on her toes. She has had the help of Gabe's parents and her own. Their story starts off tragic sad and emotional but it doesn't end that way. With out giving away to much this book takes you on an emotional roller coaster. This book will pull at your heart strings. I can't wait for their second book. Kennedy Fox has done it again they keep you wanting more I'm not sure I'm ready for their story to end.
