Don’t worry; Mr. Blake is here to set everyone straight.As a creator, it is hard to fathom how the path to success unfolds. Sometimes, your work is hot and gaining traction; other times, it's cold and invisible.Preparing yourself for the ups and downs of the creator economy is tough, which is why this book is so vital to your success.1) Becoming a creator is not a get-rich-quick scheme. It takes hard work, dedication, motivation, and discipline. It can take 3-5 years just to gain a reasonable amount of traction.2) You don’t need a massive following to support yourself with your content. I put off writing this review for a long time because every time I started it sounded more like a sales pitch than a review. Create Something Awesome is easy to understand and will help you to identify your passion and build your brand on the internet. While other YouTube and social media books are filled with one-off success stories and case studies that you will probably never be able to replicate, Roberto uses his own experience as examples throughout this book. This is practical.
Chapters discuss building your audience using your personal skills and experience, as well as discovering the best way to monetize that audience for you. You'll get advice on dealing with content creation, failure, pivoting the direction of your brand, and motivation. All in real, plain talk.
And best of all, Mr. Blake is still creating content that exemplifies all the concepts presented in this book.

Roberto has a great deal of knowledge about the creator economy. This book has a lot of useful information about becoming a content creator, but I think the most valuable thing in the book (for me, anyway) was his information on mindset and expectations.

'Success' (whatever that looks like to you), will be more likely to happen if you put in the hard work. Very rarely does it happen overnight. Roberto emphasises the importance of consistency, discipline, and managing expectations.

It was also useful to find out the different ways to monetize my content and to spread this across different areas (e.g., membership sites, affiliate marketing) rather than relying on one platform.

I look forward to Roberto's next book!
