About this ebook

A sword and planet adventure with likable characters, heroic deeds, and exotic alien worlds!

The mystic known as the Teacher is missing, presumed dead, after his spacecraft plunged into the fiery inferno of Prosperine's sun. Hickory is devastated by the tragic loss and leaves her command to seek solitude in a small town in the far north of Australia. A tiny flicker of hope the Teacher might have survived takes her back for one last mission on the Bikashi home world. The truths she uncovers on the enemy planet ignites a fierce new purpose in her heart.

Join Hickory as she faces the might and power of a Bikashi warlord, and confronts Earth's corrupt government, in a struggle to free both planets from tyranny.

About the author

PJ McDermott was born in Scotland and spent his youth in the town of Paisley, near Glasgow. As a boy he would plunk school and head to the local library to read any Science Fiction books he could get his hands on. His favorite authors were Asimov, Herbert, Niven, Moorcock, and Le Guin. Probably the book he most enjoyed though was Lord of the Rings by Tolkien. “It was the grandest of adventures, exotic locations and magical characters that drew me in. Seriously, I read it at least six times!”

These days, when he has time to relax, he enjoys the fantasy novels of Robin Hobb, George Martin and the modern SF writers, Vaughn Heppner and Alex Weir.

The author has published the 4-book science fiction adventure series Prosperine which includes The Alien Corps, Rise of the Erlachi, The Scarf, and Fractured Prophecy. All are available as e-books or in print, and The Alien Corps is also available as an audio book.

The prelude to the series, Born of Fire, tells of the apocalyptic events 84 years before The Alien Corps, and is available in audio, eBook and Print.

The highly acclaimed semi-biographical novel, Small Fish Big Fish, reissued this year as Caught in the Long Grass, was PJ's first novel.

The author lives in Australia with his wife, Sue, two daughters and grandchildren, Mia, Ryder Patrick, and Ethan.
