This was a sad story to read. It showed the life of human children that were orphans or those discarded being placed in a farm as a source for vampires to buy as their blood source. The main character Pearl had been raised in blood farm and you begin to read her life story as well as her mind set based on how she was groomed in only serving one purpose to be only food for the vampire to buy her and to wait her fait to be sucked dry. Though this story was also fascinating when the vampire, Lady Morvanna Veilthorn who bought Pearl was a different vampire from the others. She cared for those she bought and during the time she spent with Pearl fell in love with her as well that Pearl was also in love with Morvanna. I will not spoil what happens in this story but I do say you will definitely enjoy this story. I sure did, which is the reason for the number of stars given. I whole heartily recommend this book to everyone that loves a good romance even between a human and a vampire.

I was a little nervous going into this book, however the gorgeous cover and the fact it was sapphic with vampires had me sold! It was a really interesting book! The world felt unique and I’m very interested in the next book! Pearl and lady Veilthorn were really cute together and I adored them. I was torn on what to rate this book because while I really liked it the farm Pearl came from made me a little nervous. Ultimately I decided to do five stars because I was invested and enjoyed the rest! The side characters are so interesting too!
