Emily Alter’s style of writing is a bit off putting to me. The story was interesting the subject matter new to my reading in ways. The main characters were well developed. It seemed to drag a bit in the early chapters as the relationship was being built. The secondary characters were interesting and worked well within the storyline. I would have enjoyed some settings other than the office, apartments and the club, a park or the coast would have been of interest. The BDSM could have been more entertaining as it was more vanilla than I expected.

Emily has a quite unique way of writing kink that I'd term community kink... I'm here for it!

Rather than the scene or discipline focussed approach by others, Emily develops a soft and caring relationship both between the key characters but also with the whole community around them.

I find Emily sometimes throws in quite a few characters to start and there were a few with this but it wasn't overwhelming - they sort themselves out and come as clear as they need to be pretty quickly.

Soft and sensitive kink with enough heat to keep most happy.
