Play This Portable, Stellar-sounding Keyboard Anywhere!

Generations of keyboard players can remember being stuck inside to practice during gorgeous summer days. The prevailing thought was along the lines of: "Wouldn't it be a nice change to take my keyboard on adventures through the woods, to the beach, or into the park?" With the purchase of a Casio CT-S1 from Sweetwater, you can now play anywhere! This lightweight, portable keyboard includes strap pins so you can jam anywhere you see fit — just add a strap and batteries, and you're all set. You'll be able to explore a variety of sounds, too. Aside from its 61 full-size keys with touch response, the CT-S1 packs 61 sounds onboard, including a stellar stereo German grand piano. When inspiration strikes, the 1-button recorder will allow you to capture ideas on the fly. Finally, the CT-S1 features a class-compliant USB-MIDI port for MIDI playback via the free Chordana App.

61 stunning sounds onboard

There are a variety of sounds to explore within the Casio CT-S1. Chief among them is a stereo grand piano rendered in a stunningly realistic virtual concert hall. The other classic sounds include electric pianos, synths, organs, and much more. In every category, you'll find lifelike instruments that will impress you. But that's not all. You also get exacting controls over EQ, temperament, and delay. There's even a function that lets you choose among virtual concert halls to perform in.

Play along with your favorite songs

While we can all agree that playing piano alone is fun, it's a lot more exciting with backing tracks. That's why Casio included a class-compliant micro USB port in the design. With it, you can connect to any PC, Mac, iOS, or Android device and use the free Chordana Play app to download MIDI files. Play them back through the CT-S1 and jam along! Plus, with the purchase of the optional WU-BT10 Bluetooth MIDI/audio adapter, you can turn your CT-S1 into a Bluetooth speaker.

Casio CT-S1 61-key Portable Keyboard Features:

  • Ultra-portable 61-key keyboard
  • Full-size, touch responsive keys feel great to play
  • 61 tones give you plenty of sounds to experiment with
  • 1-button recorder captures your ideas for later
  • Onboard speakers deliver a clear sound
  • Class-compliant USB-MIDI port easily connects to your Mac, PC, iOS, or Android device
  • Built-in strap pins let you play anywhere you want

Why I love my Casio CT-S1

I was looking for a lightweight instrument to play for rest home services and other places that I play where I need to bring my own instrument. So my first consideration was the weight of the CT-S1 and of course, the weight had to be accompanied by some quality sound and voices. I certainly was not disappointed by either, in fact, it was quite a revelation that Casio had come this far with its digital pianos. Not only do I use this instrument when playing outside of the home, it now sits on its stand in my living room where I can play as long as I want while my husband watches his games, etc. wearing the quality headphones I purchased from Sweetwater. Add to that, I purchased the Bluetooth attachment and now play songs from my iPad through the keyboard and play along on the keyboard as much as i desire. I've had MANY Yamahas and loved them but so far, this Casio beats them all in my opinion. I love it and have advised my sister to ask for one for Christmas. If you want to play and practice without bothering others in your house, get the headphones and this keyboard is for you! The sound is really super!

An Unbelievable Value

I have been looking for a decent battery powered portable piano for a couple of years now that i can use for impromptu jams on the patio, busking, etc. I am a professional keyboardist who already has several "pro" keyboards in my rig, so this is meant more as a simple addition for special use cases. I have always been a die hard Yamaha guy but i just couldn't pull the trigger on the similar offerings by Yamaha, Roland, and others. It seemed everything I played either lacked in sound, keyboard feel, or build quality. I never considered Casio because of a long standing negative stigma I have had with the brand dating back to the 80's. When I was at Sweetwater recently, I decided to give the Casio a whirl (while no-one was looking of course). First impression was...oh! This is not the Casio of yore. Immediately noticed the keyboard feel was surprisingly responsive to piano technique and accepts some subtle nuance when playing ppp-mf. It's really nice conservative looking design with a very solid build quality. As for the sounds, there are 60 patches and it's crazy to say, but all of them sound good and are musically expressive. I was also delighted that there are 2 really nice Rhodes patches and a solid Wurly too. This keyboard is cheaper than it's competitors and a considerably superior musical instrument. Go Casio! I'm now a believer.

A new keyboard for our Granddaughter

The order for the Keyboard was simple Ryan took care of it with ease!
As of this time the keyboard is in our Granddaughter's Apartment in Omaha.
She unloaded it and tried it to see how it sounded. She was pleased in the sounds it produced!
We are happy with our purchase.

Love it.

It was either this or the Yamaha 373. I was in search of a beginner piano that I could use as a midi too. I had some doubts about this but soon as it came in and I started playing, I fell in love with it. Beautifully made with a beautiful sound. Gave it 4 1/2 stars because some keys do require a bit more pressure than the others, so it needs improvement in that aspect. However, the overall sound and quality of it is so good, it doesn't ruin a thing for me.

Many of the keyboardists here at Sweetwater have fond memories of Casio that go all the way back to when we first started playing, and that's often kept us coming back for decades. Today, we're happy to point players to Casio keyboards, no matter how long they've been playing - even if they've never played at all. In fact, we've set up many beginners with Casio LK series Lighted-key models, and they've regularly raved about how easy these keyboards make learning. Likewise, several of the solo performers at Sweetwater swear by their fully loaded Privia and other advanced lines, which provide top-notch accompaniment and more. And if you stop by the Sweetwater Piano Showroom, we'll be happy to show you the latest Casio home piano - all providing amazing value and style.
