Ready to get serious about sound?

When I think of classic car audio, Pioneer is one of the first names that comes to mind — that iconic logo, the solid build, the warm sound. Their Z-Series TS-Z65CH 6-1/2" component speaker system upholds the legend, making it the very best way to add smooth, open, Pioneer sound quality to your car.

Audiophile-grade design and materials

Why won't the same old speakers suffice if you take sound quality seriously? High-res audio files contain significantly more data than CDs, or cassettes before them. So, Pioneer built the Z-Series to harness that wealth of information and reproduce music that's incredibly close to the original performance. To ensure a premium audio experience, Pioneer uses a dual layer cone of Twaron and cellulose, making the woofer extremelty strong and stable for exceptional bass response with low coloration and distortion. An oversized magnet works tirelessly to deliver robust sound time and time again.

An oversized aluminum dome tweeter reproduces the most demanding passages in your music, while maintaining its accuracy in high-level playback. With a frequency range that pushes well beyond 40,000 Hz, you'll enjoy authentic reproduction of the finest recordings in your collection, with all the overtones and harmonics that make music more real. Pioneer allows you to adjust tweeter attenuation to ensure your highs are in perfect balance with the rest of your sound.

Premium external crossover networks bring out the best in each driver so that you experience a seamless performance. Equipped to handle power up to 110 watts RMS, you'll be well-served driving these speakers with an aftermarket amplifier. With these gold-trimmed Z-Series speakers installed in your doors, you can turn up your music with confidence and savor all the nuances you've been craving in the car.

Size Classification Note: Some manufacturers, including Pioneer, call this size woofer a 6-1/2". Because it requires a larger cutout than a standard 6-1/2" speaker, Crutchfield has traditionally referred to this size as a 6-3/4". Please enter your vehicle information to confirm fit.

Tweeter Mounting: The tweeters can be flush mounted or mounted behind a factory grille using the included housings. Once installed in either housing the tweeters will pivot, so they can be angled to optimize imaging.

Q
Will a audio control 4 channel amp at 125 watts rms be ok to run a set of z speakers at 110 watts?
bryan  Aug 15, 2022
1 answer
A
We recommend that speakers be given 70-100% of the RMS rating for optimum, and safe, operation.

Q
I have this pair of speakers. The shop was messing with my deck settings and blew one of the tweeters. They don't want to pay for a replacement set of speakers. Does anybody have any ideas on ordering just a tweeter replacement? Pioneer customer service was no help and said that they only would if it was a warranty claim.
trevor  Dec 21, 2021

A
Honestly Trevor. If the shop blew your tweeter they wold have to pay for it. Unless your not being truthfull and you were messing with it. But with the crossovers it sholdent have blew. Unless you had it active. Either way. I believe you can order just the tweeter from pioneer ,crutchfield, sonik ect . Sorry you had this misfortune!!

Thanks for your question. For information on selecting the best amp I would recommend reaching out to an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. They will be able to help determine the differences between the amp models and help you make the best choice for your system.

Q
In your honest opinion, which is better sounding between this and Focal 165FX?
elmer  Jul 23, 2018
1 answer
A
I've never heard the Focal 165FX's but I do have the Pioneers installed in my truck.. The only thing I have to say bad about them is they highs are way too bright even at 0 on the crossover. We are also comparing $650 speakers to $300 speakers. Just make sure you have enough power on them. Do not just replace your stock speakers without adding an amp. You will be disappointed to no end.
edward  Jul 23, 2018
Q
How do these speakers compare to the prs series? Are they a smooth sounding tweeter? I have the focal ps165fx and I hate it! Harsh and sounds tinny.
