Hawk Tanner is not a man of many words—especially if you’re a silly girl getting a silly tattoo in his shop. The owner of Bird’s Eye Tattoo Studio doesn’t want you to tip him with your phone number or flirty glances. He’s tired of all the wrong women wanting him for all the wrong reasons.Drew Ashby has no time—for anything. As a recently-divorced single mother, her focus is on finding a job, caring for her daughter, and rebuilding some semblance of a life after hers was wrecked. When Drew lands a job at Bird’s Eye, sparks don’t immediately fly. She can't deny the fact that her boss is a delicious specimen of a man. His tattoo-covered skin might even drive her wild, but his brooding presence and set jaw make him hard to read. That is, until he drops the bad boy persona and starts making moves on her—kind and caring gestures she doesn't expect.Things turn hot, and just when Drew thinks everything is finally going right, life does what it does best: It throws her a curveball from her past.Bird’s Eye might not be the family Drew envisioned for herself, but ideals can change in a heartbeat. There’s no doubt Hawk is the man she wants, but can he step up and be the man she needs?

I’ll start by saying that I had the honor of meeting Kat Savage personally and she is the SWEETEST. I read this book prior to meeting Kat & devoured it.The amount of times this had me physically laughing out loud!! I did not expect it. I fell in love with not only the main characters but also the SIDE characters. I think it’s rare to fall in love with just about every character in a book. But miss Kat made me.I cannot wait to continue this series and get a more in depth look in the Will and the boys’ lives! If you are debating if it is worth the read, it is. It was such a quick read but honestly felt like a breath of fresh air 🫶🏼

Book one in the series can be read as a standalone and ends in a HEA. It is written in first person from and alternating dual POV.

Hawk is a big tatted owner of a tattoo shop in Louisville, Kentucky. He never thought he would settle down and never thought he would want a family of his own. Drew and her daughter leave Philly after an ugly divorce and start over with nothing. When she is hired for Hawk’s shop, she gains not just a job but a found family she never had before.

Hawk falls hard and fast but it takes a while for him to move past denial and accept it. Drew tries to protect her heart, but it is a lost cause. I love how fast they fall and all the little moments they share. They have some seriously hot times, and I love that Drew didn’t have baggage when it came to a physical relationship. I really adored the relationship Hawk forms with Drew’s daughter. It is really a heart-melting piece of this story. I appreciated that this was a relatively low-angst read with a super-sweet HEA. This was my first book by this author, but her writing style hooked me from the beginning. I will definitely be back for more.

It is such a good book. A good transition to all the dark romance I have been reading lately.
Although it frustrated me to no end, I understood both times that Drew left Hawk. I was screaming at her that she was making the wrong choice but it did make for an even better reading experience. Ha Ha Ha!
I am very interested to read the rest of the books from this world. I loved all the characters and want to know more about them and see them all find their happy endings too. Especially Will and Derek’s story. Something about them two I just know I will love the book.

Single Mom romance? Yes, please! This was a great start to the Men of Bird's Eye series.

I really wanted to love this book. The synopsis made it sound amazing, but it fell flat and I found it lacking emotion. Every character seemed like a side character and had little to no depth. Neither Hawk nor Drew were strong leads. The problems the H and h went through were presented and resolved too neatly. I did love Hawk and Ava's relationship. That was the best, most developed part of the book. I read in another review this authors books are usually much better than this so I'll give one of those a try, but this book really missed the mark for me.

I'm going to mention a couple of specific things that bothered me so be warned there are spoilers ahead:

When Drew beaks up with Hawk he says ok. Nothing else just ok. This was very underwhelming to me. He didn't fight or protest, just said ok and left. At that point this book lost me and it was a struggle to finish. I prefer my heros to stand and fight for their woman or at least have some sort of protest when she pushes him away. Just accepting it made it feel like he wasn't all that invested.

I am all for the struggling leading lady being spoiled by the hero, but Drew didn't struggle much. She lost everything in her divorce, finds a job to make a life for her and her daughter, then Hawk swoops in (no pun intended) and provides everything before she has a chance to rebuild.

Nina comes into the shop and mentions she left her jacket at Hawk's while him and Drew were broken up. Drew confronts him about it after mentally convincing herself she has no right to be upset, then accepts his explanation and moves on. If it was a big enough deal for her to irrationally confront him about it why would she suddenly just accept his explanation? Why not push a little?

When Drew's ex husband shows up her solution is to ask Hawk to keep his distance while she drives him away. Logically I can understand why this was a major thing for them, but I didn't feel the emotion behind it. Again he just accepts it. I'm all for the hero supporting and accepting his woman's decisions, but he could have at least expressed how hard the time apart would be. Maybe he could have offered to help. Something other than just accepting and moving on. The only thing Drew did to try to drive Curtis away was taking him to the tattoo shop. She let's him drive Ava to school, but basically just deals with his presence and doesn't do much until the last day of his visit. Her final "stand up to my ex" moment seemed odd to me. Yes she set him straight, but why ask details about the woman he was seeing? It didn't add to her point and was an odd detail to add.

Wow, where to start? This was short, but full of heart. I loved Hawk from the moment we meet him. He's gruff and standoffish but sweet and loyal. Drew is understandably out of her element, but it was beautiful to see her rally for her daughter.
Great read & I want more from everyone.

I'm a sucker for tattoo shop romances. I don't usually read books with kids/pregnancies, but this one wasn't bad. The It was short and sweet, a little spicy. Hot guys, tattoos and pitbulls = <3

I was pleasantly surprised. The story itself isn’t overly unique however, the banter and inner monologues give it a fresh spin. Hawk now ranks up there with my ultimate book boyfriends. He’s all kinds of swoon worthy with being 6’4 dark haired handsome and tattooed, not to mention his thoughtfulness toward Drew and her daughter Ava. If there is one downfall to this story its that Drew unfortunately drives me crazy with a couple of her decisions. I also found that it became repetitive at some points. Overall I would definitely recommend.

Drew and her daughter Ava have started a new life. Times are difficult, but Drew applies for a job in a tattoo shop where she mets Hawk, the owner. There is some spice to the story, but it is definitely a heartwarming story towards the end. It was a delight to read.
