Overview

Help maintain and protect your pet's joint health with Easy Step Pet Stairs.

The innovative incline of each step reduces the amount of stairs needed to climb eliminating stress on your pet.

Pets that constantly jump off sofas, beds, and other furniture can place unnecessary strain on the joints which could potentially lead to arthritis. As with any steps some dogs may need training.

Why use a pet stair or ramp?

Pet stairs and ramps help your pet safely get to hard to reach places- and back down from them! Pet Gear pet stairs feature wide, deep steps that give smaller dogs the ability to get their entire body on each platform and offer more stability for large dogs to comfortably climb the stairs. The innovative incline of each step reduces the number of stairs your pet needs to climb, eliminating stress on your pet.

Can the stairs be cleaned?

All of Pet Gear's stairs come with either a removable carpet tread or cover that removes quickly and is machine washable.

How difficult to assemble?

All of Pet Gear's stairs snap together easily- no tools required.

Perfect size, took a while to train
These little stairs are the perfect size and weight for my 13 lb shih poo puppy, but it took him about three weeks to figure that out! The stairs are great, but I'm glad I didn't expect my puppy to get the hang of them right away based on his ability to use stairs otherwise.THE PRODUCT:This is a small set of two steps that help my puppy get on and off the couch. My cat, who utterly refuses to let me trim her claws, hates these stairs because her claws get caught on the carpeting covering each tread. If I had bought this item for her, I might remove the covering. For the puppy, the traction is appreciated. And the cat doesn't need the assistance the puppy does. 😁The steps are slanted, not level, which encourages my puppy to go up and down rather than hanging out on each stair. I found this to be a useful feature. It assisted in training him to use the stairs.THE TRAINING:For those who are saying their dogs wouldn't use these stairs, please know that it did take three weeks to get my six month old puppy accustomed to them. He's able to take full flights of stairs just fine, but these were new to him and not the same. When treats to lure him up and down didn't do the job, I realized the issue was education, not motivation.I used the same tactics to train him to use these stairs that I did when teaching him to use stairs originally. If he wanted up, I would lift him so his hind legs were on the top stair and his front legs were on the couch. He had no trouble moving his hind legs onto the couch, too. After doing that for a few days, I started putting his hind legs on the bottom stair and his front legs on the top stair. Again, he was easily able to jump onto the couch from that position.Unfortunately, that's where our progress stalled, but I let him take it at his own pace. After a few weeks, seemingly out of nowhere, he ran up the stairs onto the couch all by himself one day. From that point on, he didn't need assistance anymore.I used the same strategy to teach him how to go down the stairs. I placed his hind legs on the bottom step and his front legs on the floor. Once he seemed comfortable and confident with that, I started putting his hind legs on the top step and his front legs on the bottom step. He picked up how to get down much faster than how to get up; it only took a day or so for him to have mastered it.(I found it amusing that this was the opposite of how things went when I needed to teach him how to use "real" stairs.)Anyway, I hope that helps someone get their dog used to these. These are great little stairs and for the price, worth a small amount of work!

I am actually very pleased with this item. It comes in pieces but puts together very easily and fast. Once together it is light weight but very sturdy for my 30 pound dog. It’s plastic but has carpet on the two stairs and they attach with Velcro so you could wash if necessary. Now to just get my senior dog to use them properly. He goes up then pretty good but walking down basically uses the top and jumps 🤦‍♀️

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for our little dogs who are getting older.
Reviewed in the United States on August 3, 2021
The pet stairs were easy to put together. They are basically plastic & have knobs on some pieces that snap into holes in the other pieces. You lay one SIDE on the floor, snap all the pieces into that, and then put the other SIDE on top, line up the knobs to the holes, snap into place and then turn it upside right.
Our dogs are getting older. They are 8yrs, 13 yrs, and 16yrs old. The first night the steps were up against the couch the dogs were coaxed up (with small pieces of really good ham, of course). I know it might take a little more time for them to get comfortable coming up on the couch without any encouragement, and going down. But they took to it really quickly. They are older, and these steps make it so much easier for them to get up & down. And we got them for about $27 and they are pretty decent quality for that price. The best thing is the size of the steps...We got the ones for up to 75lbs (I think) 2 steps. Our dogs are all between about 11 lbs and 17lbs. The steps are about 14 inches wide, about each step is about 9 to 10 inches front to back (sorry I don't have something to exactly measure them). but they are good size for the dogs not to feel uncomfortable. The front edge of the 1st step is about 5 1/2inches high from the floor and slants upward, so the back of the 1st step is probably 7 inches... then up another5 1/2 inches to the top step and the back of the 2nd step is about 14 inches off the floor. The seat of our couch is about 17 inches from the floor, so it is so easy for them to climb up!! Thank you Pet Gear for such a reasonable and workable solution for our aging dogs! And the steps are hollow underneath, so they are really light weight! I'm trying to add some pictures so you can see... they are hollow underneath with just one dowel that goes across the bottom for support between the two sides. And the upward slant of each step. Obviously not good for a person to walk up & down! but great for the little fur babies!! please disregard the mess in the background. Sorry.
