Crystal Clear AudioThe iPhone-Mic-Line replaces your phone or laptops microphone level audio signal with line level input allowing you to record on your device as if the sound was coming directly from it. |
Easy to Use1. Insert the male 3.5mm (1/8 in.) TRRS plug into your phone or laptop*. 2. Plug your audio source into the female 3.5mm (1/8 in.) TRS end of the Headset Buddy adapter. 3. The device will recognize that an external audio source is connected and turn its internal microphone off allowing you to record using the external source. 4. If your smartphone does not have a 3.5mm female headset jack, you will need to purchase one of our a generic adapter. (Will not work with Apple lightning adapters) |
Mono SoundSound input for smartphone connections is mono but most apps split the sound into left and right channels for playback in both ears. You are able to input stereo sound; however, playback will only be in the left ear. |

Our Story
Headset Buddy was started in 2009 when I wanted to use my favorite headset with my phone, but couldn't find an adapter. I realized (thankfully) others might have the same issue. Soon after I ordered a thousand units and started selling them from the spare bedroom of my apartment. As orders came, so did requests from customers for different types of headset accessories. Here we are now, with over forty unique headset solutions selling all over the world, thanks to customers like you.

I tried the second cable and found that it had the same buzzing, BUT ONLY WHEN MY IPAD WAS PLUGGED IN! When my iPad was running off battery, the input audio signal was perfect. So now I don't know whether there was even anything wrong with the first cable.
I am completely happy with this cable. We are using it to broadcast our church services over Facebook Live using the audio output from the sound board. Works great!
I'm using this cable to feed a timecode signal from my field recorder into my iPhone XR. Without the Headset Buddy, the signal was too hot and was overdriving the input on the iPhone. So, I guess this cable takes line level signals and attenuates them. I don't know the specifics or details, but I can tell you it works perfectly for my application. I still have to use the Apple adapter along with the Headset Buddy, but that's just to be able to plug into the lightning port on my phone.
If the manufacturer happens to read these reviews, I noticed on their website a cable just like this Headset Buddy, but with a lightning connector instead of the 3.5mm TRRS. But they no longer offer this cable. Why the heck not!? It would negate the need for the Apple adapter. Please bring it back!
