There is Delilah Lily Greer aka as Lila. Lila is the youngest of four sisters. Her oldest sister Steph, short for Stephanie is married with a five year old daughter, then there is Eve who is a reporter in Chicago and then there is Elle who is in her last year at the University of Georgia whose Major is Music and she plays the Violin. What do they all have in common, they all went to University of Georgia and have graduated and/or are going to graduate, which Elle is going to do in May. Lila is into dance and she was a high school cheerleader.
Then there is James Asheford Talmadge IV, He is a wealthy only child whose father owns most of Savannah, he is into real estate. Ash goes to Holy Cross High School which is a all boys school and of course Lila goes to Saint Catherine's the all girls school which is located across from the boys school. When Lila and Ash first meet she is cheering at his game. Ash's father is wealthy but he has Ash working, it felt it builds character. His mother like to work on charities, basically the stuff wealthy women without a job do.
The next person in this triangle is Cole Davis. Cole and Lila meet at the UGA at her Kinesiology class, she thinks she wants to be a physical therapist in the sports medicine field. Cole's father was a star football player at UGA and was now a football coach and his mother is a middle school teacher. Cole plays football, but he is an academic scholar too, in fact he got both a football scholarship and an academic scholarship. This book is typical K.A. Linde, in that she always gives you the back story of how the characters meet and how it ties into the prologue of the book, which we find Lila getting ready to get married. I loved this book and I am so glad that Lila ended up with who I thought she should end up with. I can't tell you why because it might spoil part of the book's plot but I would truly, truly recommend this book. This book contains colorful characters, Lila and her best friends and family and Cole and his friends and of course Ash and the cast of characters that come with him. I can't wait to read about Marley one of Lila's best friends.
And just so many drunken bad decisions along the way. So many. I mean we were all young and drunk and stupid once, but drunken cheating is so 1996 Ross. I wish I’d had her type of first world problems as a grad student. Granted a lot of it does take place in the early 00’s, but still, girl does not learn from her mistakes. Not that the guys aren’t at fault; after a point, it just feels like a pissing contest between them rather than actual love for her.
Having said that, I could not look away from the train wreck of it all, and finished it in a single sitting because I just needed to know. The further you get and read between the lines, you can tell who she really prefers, even if she can’t seem to get it until basically coerced into it on her wedding day, when it’s almost too easy a choice. So why did we waste years keeping them both on the hook? I was making my Jim Halpert face at the non existent camera a lot. To be fair, she does end up with the “healthier” real life choice of the two, even if he wouldn’t have been my first choice. We learn very little about either man over the years in terms of character, so it’s difficult to truly connect with them, and the chemistry of both pairs feels diluted by the fact that she seems to be pining for the other guy when she’s with one.
The author sets the college backdrop vividly in their early years, so that you can almost feel the games and the frat parties. But one of my favorite things about the book was Lila’s friends, Josie and Marley, friends every girl deserves, non judgmental and endlessly supportive, through every possible life choice.
Lilah has loved the same two men for the last twelve years. So many memories and so much pain have passed between them and she still doesn’t know who or what she wants.
This story is full of angst, drama and a lot of love. The story line jumps quite a bit so you really need to pay attention to who she is with and when. While this is a standalone I am hoping maybe a update with how Lilah and the man she finally picks are doing down the road as this one ended rather abruptly and with no epilogue.

I have to be honest the blurb scared me… I am a big fan of K.A Linde and I have loved all the couples she has created but when I read love triangle… hard limit for me.
I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT I NEARLY MISSED OUT ON READING THIS OUTSTANDING STORY.
This book should come with a warning- K.A Linde drags you right into the hearts of the flawed characters ( Lila, Ash and Cole )and their stories from the get go.
I swear I didn't breathe the whole time I was reading it - gripping and brilliantly written. Trust me when I say that with Hold The Forevers, the author showed her readers that you don't read a K.A Linde’s book, you fall into it. It takes huge talent to establish a whole world in the turn of two pages… the prologue.
I cannot spoil the story for you so I will just say that it is the story of Lila and two men…
“ Cole and Ash”. Ash is her first love , her first and the one that shattered her heart. Cole is the football player with electric blue eyes, the man who made Lila gives a second chance to love. However, when the past collides with the present, it is confusing and explosive- everything is uncertain but one thing... Lila is in love with them both.
The author has created characters that are not perfect; they have weaknesses and make mistakes, there are consequences to their mistakes and they suffer as a result, besides also suffering due to chance events or the unkindness of others….Fate plays an important role in their story.
I've loved every detail and every up and down in the book. I was scared of the ending because I loved HIM … it was instalove for me…. My heart was breaking for him … for them.
Hold The Forevers is certainly going to sweep you up in feelings. The struggle to decide between two men is excruciating and compelling at the same time.
One of my top 2021 reads, K.A Linde is at the top of her game with this angsty, emotional rollercoaster of a book!

I don’t normally struggle with timelines, but this one did have we me flicking back and forth to check. Apart from that I thoroughly enjoyed this story and couldn’t put it down.

I thought it would have been better if it had been written in date order.
Why those two put up with her indecision I will never know.
It does end in an actual forever choice.
