Almost a year ago I bought the Asrock B365 Phantom Gaming 4 and paired it with a GTX 1660 Ti GPU, being pushed by an i9-9900K and achieved all that I wanted in a gaming/editing rig. COD Warzone easy 120+ FPS. But I needed more GPU power for COD Cold War, so I bought an EVGA RTX 2080 Super. The rig dramatically improved with the upgraded GPU giving a more stunning graphic experience with a faster sense of play. COD War Zone gets up to 160+ FPS, COD Cold War around 140 FPS @ 1080 ultra.
On COD Warzone, I'm top 0% on my favorite map, Rebirth Resurgence Quads, winning over 220 times and being top 5% on Resurgence over 1400 times. You bet this mobo is gaming ready!
By Far, the Asrock B365 Phantom Gaming 4 mATX board is one of the best I've ever used and I've been building my own systems since the 80's. It never crashes on me, it just runs. One does need to know what they are doing when it comes to the case you use with this board. Just because this mobo is a small mATX doesn't mean it won't need the extra space for cooling, which it does, especially if you put a i7 or i9 onto this board. I got lucky and got away with putting in Zalman's largest heat sink with Arctic thermal paste in a Zalman compact mid-tower. At idle, I get 46C. With just netflix(only 2% of the CPU) I get 49C. While gaming for hours I get around 71C, including having two GPU's running at the same time so that I can do a tri-monitor setup.
When I first ran benchmarks, achieved UFO level on all categories. A year later, only two categories get UFO level, the other nuclear submarine. Probably, need to up my SSD game to get back on top.
This board won't fail in performance. It's designed to run i9 9th gen CPUs and comes with all the CPU capacitors to do so. I went with hard to find, super low casual latency memory(12CL), 2nd from the top Samsung SSD, and a nice NZXT 850 watt power supply, Bequiet fans all around, and the rig hums while gaming and is absolutely soundless doing most other non-gaming task.
It's what you build with this board that determines how fast this thing can go along with a well designed cooling setup. I'm all air, didn't need water and cruising with average room temp of 76F. But you have to buy the best/largest heatsinks as the 9th Gen i9 runs hot, but packs a punch too.
So happy with Asrock. If your Asrock rig breaks down, you probably connected crap to it, don't blame Asrock!
For under $100(at the time of purchase), Asrock gives you a great taste of their ongoing excellence and superiority. Sure didn't need to spend $300+ for a gaming mobo to get the gaming power and experience. But you need to know what you are doing. ASrock Phantom Gaming mobo's need quality components and plenty of breathing room for the fans and CPU heatsink, no matter the size. ;)
