I wanted a tire gel that would protect my tires without making them look unnaturally shiny, and was water based so I wouldn't have to worry about the tires browning like they would with regular use of a solvent based tire gel. I use it straight out of the bottle without diluting it, and let it sit on the tires for a few minutes so that it can soak into the rubber. After that I wipe off the excess with a towel. The more you leave on the tires the glossier it looks. I don't like the gloss so I wipe away the excess, this also prevents the "run off" and "sling" that I've seen other people complaining about in their reviews. If you wipe off the excess you should have no issues with the gel slinging off while driving.
For a water based tire gel I've found that its actually quite durable. I put it on both my daily driver and my summer car that I only drive in nice weather. With my daily driver I had at least 3 rain showers I had to drive through after applying it and I purposely drove through puddles to see how it would hold up. When the tires got wet the water beaded up, and the tire gel lasted close to 3 weeks before it was completely gone. On my summer car its been a couple of months and it's still on my tires and they have that deep black color you would expect to see on new tires; whereas before they were slightly browned from me trying other cleaning products on them that didn't work so well.
In the end I think this is a great product. For being water based I think it is quite durable, and I like that it doesn't give my tires a glossy look like many others do. But if you desire that glossy look it can be achieved with this product if you just wipe it on and leave it or apply more than one layer. Just be sure to wipe off the excess in between each layer you apply otherwise the gel will sling off.
The only other complaint that I remember reading about in other reviews was that it was too thin and hard to apply. It is thin, and runs a little when it's poured onto the the sponge, but its not so thin that it's difficult to use. For the price I think this is an outstanding product and definitely worth a try.

I'll admit the first time I used this I was not too impressed. However!! I tried it again and have completely changed my mind. I have been using chemical guys VRP for a year or so on trim and tires and thought it was the best thing going. Boy was I wrong. This stuff darkened my fading trim better and lasted longer than anything I have tried. I like to try new products to see how they work and I'm glad I gave this stuff a second chance. It leaves a slick finish too which I think helps keep the tires clean a bit longer. One bottle goes a long way and if you want you can dilute it with water and spray it which I have done in clean dry wheel wells with great results. I have been using a Brush King tire and trim applicator and everything turns out great quick and easy! Ok so I did a test on a dumpster lid. I know...but its plastic, gets baked in the sun and rained on. I thoroughly cleaned and dried the lid. I then applied opti-bond on the left side and chemical guys VRP on the right two ridges. The next morning just from dew on the lid the optimum was looking good the vrp was already breaking down and washing off. Win for the opti-bond!

I was skeptical when I ordered this product but I'm glad I did. Here's the good and the bad:
    The good:
    - it does a great job making your tires look shinny.
    - it stays on for a long, long time!
    - it doesn't splash onto your car.
    - one small application will cover all of your tires, so a bottle will last you a long time as well.

    The bad:
    - You have to apply it with a sponge but the mix is so thick that even if you dilute it with water on a different bottle (as they manufacturer recommends), it ends up spilling all over the floor and on your wheels. So you have to apply a small amount at a time in order to avoid spilling, but then again, if you do that, it takes a lot longer to finish the job.
    - The spilled residue is hard to clean properly, especially on your wheels.

Given the advantages over the two (significant) disadvantages, I'd recommend this product over others I've used in the past. Use caution though. I ended up diluting a good amount with a similar portion of distilled water and put it in a squirt bottle--although I learned very quickly not to squirt directly the stuff onto my tires, but a sponge instead.

I've used meguiars hot shine, but it never lasted longer than a week. I then switched to stoners tire shine and while it worked well and I liked the spray and walk away aspect, it did sling a lot, unless I let it dry it overnight.

As time went on, I started to prefer the matte look in my tires. I saw that you can dilute opti-bond so I tried it out. I did a 1:1 ratio with water in a spray bottle and applied with a tire sponge. It was easy to apply and after letting it dry for about 10 minutes, it gave a uniformed matte finish to the tire. I also tried a 2nd application, but it was too shiny for my preference. It also doesn't leave a filmy residue on the tires, it was dry to the touch and no sling! Seems to last just as long as the stoners one I had before. It survived two weekly car washes, but after a week's worth of rain, it wore off. I think that's true for any tire shine though. Highly recommend if you prefer a matte or shiny look (double application or single if using undiluted). Being able to dilute it makes it much more economical.

This is an excellent product as to Shine, Durability and ease of Use. Be aware that the application is high gloss so it is not the best product to use in automotive interiors or tires if you desire a matte finish. The product does last and is easy to apply-suggest a foam applicator.

Not sure how I feel about this product quite yet. Worked well on most of the trim pieces except for the real valance of a Volvo C30. There had been some streaking there from rain runoff. I cleaned it well, applied the Opti-Bond and it looked good...for one day, then the streaking reappeared. The tires looked good, but it took a couple of coats to get the look I wanted and waiting some time to cure, then buffing out with a microfiber cloth. Not completely sold, but not turned off quite yet. Will continue to use, but I'm still looking at other products.

This stuff works great. Fairly priced. It lasts extremely long if you do proper prep - scrub tires in degreaser then rinse before applying the tire shine. Makes it last weeks at a time. If the tires are super dry/brown/old I'll do degreaser - then a reviving conditioner (such as lemon pledge) then apply the tire shine.

I’ve tried applying this stuff as directed, watched all the YouTube videos, and tried many different/alternate ways to get it to work as expected and advertised, and it works just ok, but not great...

I have an truck with oversized tires, and a car with low profile tires, and it obviously it last longer on the car. Can get pretty “glazed donut” if you're not careful.

Really doesn’t seem much better than any other cheap Canadian tire or Walmart bottle in my opinion. Certainly not worth this premium price!

    Pass.
