Very comfortable and enjoyable to use, but I had to order a wider size than my Wave Inspire 14's.

This is an updated review. After further use, I’ve rewritten part of the review to omit some of my earlier criticisms, which I now attribute to adjusting to a new shoe.

After using the Wave Inspire 15's for some lengthy outdoor walks, I’m very happy with their comfort and performance. I bought the Wave Inspire 15's to replace my Wave Inspire 14's, which were my most comfortable and favorite pair of athletic shoes. I’m just as pleased with the Wave Inspire 15’s as my old Wave Inspire 14’s.

As stated by another reviewer, the width of the Wave Inspire 15’s seem to be narrower. I initially ordered mine in a D, normal width, which is the size of the Wave Inspire 14’s I wore. I had to exchange my Wave Inspire 15 D’s for 2E’s - wide. Ultimately, the 2E’s fit nicely, but I had to exchange the first pair of 2E’s because the inside upper was too high and rubbing the inside of my ankle. So, it took me 3 pairs of Wave Inspire 15’s to get what was I was looking for. Thankfully, the Mizuno/Amazon exchange process is very fast and hassle free.

Cushioning of the Wave Inspire 15's is superb! The best analogy I can offer is that the cushioning absorbs my steps like a thick and firm, responsive sponge. The Wave Inspire 15's absorb the impact of my feet striking the ground and provide a good rebound. The15's fit nice and snug after I tightened up all of the laces real well. The 15's are a comfortable weight and don't feel heavy or bulky. Overall, the Wave Inspire 15's are very comfortable and I really enjoy using them! Plus, they are a great looking shoe.

I changed my original rating from 4 stars to 5 stars based solely on the performance of the Wave Inspire 15’s. I didn’t detract from my rating based on the exchanges I had to make of the Wave inspire 15’s. Buying shoes or clothes online comes with some risk of not getting the perfect product sometimes. But, I’ve had similar experiences and exchanged products when I’ve purchased in person from physical stores. In this case, Mizuno/Amazon immediately made things right.

New Mizuno's, Old Runner

Excellent shoes, other than that the size is off compared to the last model which fit like a glove. I run 2-3 miles, 3-4 times a week, and these are better than any Nike, Hoka, New Balance, or Asics, that i have ever worn. The initial break-in period was probably about 20-25 miles, since i only use them for running, but even those miles were pretty great. I have a history of terrible shin splints and plantar fasciitis, which prior to the Inspires, only the Hoka Arahi's were able to manage. I have yet to have any pain whatsoever with the Mizunos! I still love my Hoka's when i decide to go a few extra miles, but all of the phenomenal padding makes it difficult for me to turn up the speed when i want. The Inspire 15 has a surprisingly soft feel despite the fact the shoes practically beg you to run fast. I highly recommend these for anyone with shin splints! They're not cheap, they last a looong time, and feel amazing!

Very good running shoe for a lightweight over-pronator

This is my nth shoe of the Mizuno Wave Inspire series and they've all been good. I'm a significant over-pronator (flat feet) but also light: male, about 5-8 and 130 lbs. Have tried motion control shoes in the past but these do the trick, with no problems even on long runs, and they're lighter & more comfortable. With any running shoe the fit is important. The Mizuno Wave Inspires happen to fit my feet just right: relatively narrow and snug at the heel, so the shoe doesn't slide down off the foot. Good for all surfaces from concrete to dirt, and a durable product as well. If the shoe fits you, I recommend it.

Great Feeling Ride, True-to-Size (15 mile review...)

I am a collegiate runner and bought these shoes as I was looking for more support to stop my over-pronation (foot rotating inwards). After 2 runs and around 12-15 miles in them, these shoes feel great. Stiff feel but comfortable at the same time as well as a very stable platform to run on. Toe-box is probably about as normal as most running shoes but not something to worry about for someone with a larger forefoot. My pinky toe generally rips holes in my shoes but feels good in these. Padded tongue is a nice bonus as most shoes these days are going away from the plush tongues and for someone who has tendinitis on the top of my foot, I applaud Mizuno. Although I haven't logged a substantial amount of miles yet, I already feel like my foot has molded to them and look forward to many more runs in these shoes.

Sock liners must go!!

WTF Mizuno?! I get the same size Waves every time. What’s with the sock-liner? They are VERY uncomfortable - so much so that I have to cut them out! (That’s why I gave 4-stars).

Okay if you’re looking to buy these and you don’t mind sock-liners then buy. If you’re like me (with very wide feet...like 4E wide) then pass! I love Mizunos...especially the Waves but these shoes with sock liners are so horrible for runners with wide feet.

Pros:
- Good stabilization
- Good cushion
- Good traction
- Good price
- Size good (they have wide)

Cons:
- Sock liners
- Inserts are paper-thin

Pros outweigh the cons. Mizuno makes good running shoes for wide feet (I don’t get paid by them either). I used to run in New Balances and Brooks, then NB went narrow and Brooks’ just don’t have the stability (and are SO heavy!).

They’re reasonably priced for the product you receive. If you have a problem with the liners then cut em out...if you don’t mind then you’re gold.
