Bought for perforating sandpaper. Stand over a trashcan.
3 Stars
Bought for perforating sandpaper. Stand over a trashcan.
I recently bought a dust-free drywall sander that attaches to my shop vac for doing patches & repairs in occupied homes. Normally you'd use a mesh type paper with a vacuum sander, however this leaves a horrible crosshatch pattern in the sanded drywall compound: fine if you're texturing, not fine if you're doing a ASTM Level 5 finish, commonly referred to as, "slickwall". Enter the hole punch. Uses this to perforate regular d/w sandpaper for vacuum dust extraction. This works great, and leaves a flawless prime/paintable surface with no drywall mesh scarring. The downside, as others have mentioned, is this punch's inability to retain the, "nubbelies". The cap WILL NOT stay on for anything, so the punches fly everywhere, and you're picking up or vacuuming boatloads of tiny circular cutouts of sandpaper. Very annoying, and hence the 3 star review.
