Product Description
The ReCurve R6 is our most user friendly weight distribution hitch, and it features premium adaptive sway control. With other sway control hitches, turning can be an even bigger hassle than it usually is with a trailer because the sway control “locks” the trailer straight. With the ReCurve R6, the hitch will control your sway for normal driving, but when you turn, the sway control will automatically disengage, making maneuvering smoother and easier on the driver. The sway control can easily be turned completely off in dangerous or icy road conditions. Its top-loading spring bars give it more ground clearance than other weight distribution hitches, and the streamlined design makes the hitch and the trailer move as one, while creating a sleek and subtle look. Hitch ball included. The included brackets accommodate trailers with 3-inch to 6-inch A-frames.

2020 Update: This is the BEST HITCH EVER MADE!!! Quiet and strong. Easy to load and set the load distribution bars. Again, there is nothing better out there IMPO!
Once installed properly, hooking up is easy. Be sure you turn off sway control on both sides when hooking up. That will allow you to easily attach each bar, whether your tow vehicle is perfectly straight in line with the trailer or not.
Also don't forget to raise the tongue once the trailer is hooked before locking each bar into place. When you lower the tongue with each bar locked in place it will distribute the weight.
At that point you would want to turn on the sway control if you will be doing a long haul or highway towing.
and the trailer never moved.
Updated review. Took the trailer to Nashville, TN and had white knuckle the whole way.
Went to a campground an hour away from home and almost lost control of camper and truck two or three times.
Some reason this thing is just not working like it should for me, any advice would be appreciated.

Let me start out by saying that we went from a Reese Straight-Line trunnion bar WD hitch to this Eaz-Lift ReCurve R6. We were looking for a simpler hitch and go setup that was quieter than typical friction bar systems and we wanted to get away from a system with chains. I loved the idea of having the pivot in the head to eliminate the noise associated with traditional systems as well. Now let's get down to the nitty gritty of the review.
The 30-minute installations that you see on YouTube are usually performed by technicians that do this day in and day out with a bare frame to install this WD hitch to. We had to remove the old, rusted bolts from the hangers, and the cam arms. After fighting with open and closed face wrenches, sockets, impact wrenches for two hours, I had enough. I grabbed the Sawzall and had the old hangers off in 2 minutes (hindsight is 20/20). Now it was time to install the new ReCurve R6 1000 WD Hitch. We followed the instructions step by step and watched a YouTube video made by Camco pausing at each step of the instructions to get a better understanding of what they were saying. This method worked quite well. Now it was onto the measurements. We had the camper level and the measurements of the receiver, unladen truck, etc. The hitch head went together easily after I got back from Lowe's to buy a 300 ft.lb. torque wrench (the two head bolts need to be torqued to 260 ft.lb.). We them positioned the hangers on the frame of the camper and added the bars. Wow, easy thus far, right? so far so good. After ensuring proper alignment of the hangers with the bars and that the bars were evenly touching both sides of the fork in the hanger. we tightened the hangers to spec. The truck and camper were in alignment all measurements were dead on. We were feeling pretty good about what we accomplished in a relatively short period of time (*cough* not 30 minutes). We put the tongue down so that all weight was not on the truck and checked each corner to see how much squat we had at the back and lift in the front of our truck. 1.5 inches of squat in the rear, .75 inches lift in the front. We then had to disconnect the camper, loosen the bolts on the head, adjust the angle downward, tighten the set screw, tighten the adjustment bolt (the ufo looking bolt), tighten the head bolts and re-torque, attach the camper, and check squat-lift again. 1.4 inches in the rear, .5 in the front. UGHHHHHHH! rinse and repeat the previous steps, and got it to 1.25 inches in the rear, .25 in the front. At this point I was beginning to fear that the wife was going to dig a hole right then and there to bury me. She told me that if she had to make another single adjustment, she was calling the lawyer (she was joking, but I got the point, Couch for me FOREVER!!!). I knew that the hitch was safe to tow to a dealership to have the remaining adjustments performed. So, the marriage was saved, and I could sleep in my bed again. Now, onto the reason that the ReCurve R6 only spent 3 weeks attached to our camper. On our First camping trip since having the adjustments made at the dealership, we noticed that the sway was pretty bad at 65mph on the highway. My wife looked at the ball view on the camera and noticed that the head was not resting on the ball bearings but was instead angled which was pushing the head to one side and the camper to the other. I immediately pulled over and checked everything. The head was not pivoting back onto the ball bearings, I was forced to turn off the cams and realign the head over the bearings then turn the anti-sway back on. Yes, I was straight on and turning the cams to "ON" was effortless. Confident that everything was OK, we pulled back onto the highway, a few miles later we could feel sway again, checked the ball view on the camera and the head was disengaged again. WTF was going on here. Rinse and repeat from a few miles back. And again, we were on our way. On the home stretch and while making a sharp turn (truck and camper were at about 75-80 degrees from one another) and BANG!! Since my wife was paranoid at this point and had been watching the ball view camera. she screamed "STOP, the bar came off". I quickly stopped as we only going a few mph around the corner. Quickly put the jack down (in the middle of the street) to relieve the pressure that was twisting the head and shank at an uncomfortable angle. I removed the other bar and left it off until I got the camper parked safely, called up the dealership and made an appointment to have the Eaz-Lift ReCurve R6 removed and an Equalizer WD hitch installed.
To sum up, if you care about your 100K investment, don't buy this on Amazon, buy it from a dealership and have them install it and take care of any issues that you may have with it. It will cost more at the dealership for this system than on Amazon. I really do believe that the technology is very innovative, but in my honest opinion, I believe there was a manufacturing defect in the head and am not willing to risk towing unsafely because of what I experienced with this WD hitch. I really wish I could have given a better review on this, I really do, but in my case, I cannot and will not recommend this hitch.
The Reese Straight-Line was a great hitch for years, it was noisy, but it towed well. it did porpoise some over bumps, more than the equalizer by about 2x. No sway at all when passing semi's or in windy conditions.
The Equalizer is very noisy, but performs very well, minimal porpoising over bumps, no sway at all, feels great while towing. I am not going to tell you that you can't tell you are towing, that is a myth. But it does make towing more confidence inspiring that other hitches that I have used.
The Eaz-Lift ReCurve R6 was dead quiet, even while turning which is a huge plus, the weight distribution was better than the equalizer, over bridge joints or speed bumps the truck returned to level at an almost unbelievable quickness. I was really impressed with the ability of the system to eliminate porpoising and bucking, chucking, etc. it really is very good at that (once you get the head angle and bars properly distributing the weight so that the truck is not lifted in the front, and under 1 inch on the rear). I mean it, I was very impressed by this. But unfortunately, if the head will not center itself after an on-ramp or going around a corner, that defeats the anti-sway mechanism completely, the nail in the coffin was the bar-delete. That is why I gave the stars that I did. If it wasn't for the bar-delete it would have been a 3-star due to the head issues, but neither condition is safe to tow with, so I was left with no other option but to leave it at 1 star.
And for those thinking that I should have called Camco support. I did 6-times, I talked with Quincy on 3 of those calls. Quincy was awesome and answered all of my questions, to the best of his ability. Each call I made I was actually talking to a human in the U.S.A.
Ultimately the Recurve R6 was returned to Amazon for a full refund, which was used to offset the expense of having the Equalizer installed and shop rate for labor.
