Not for our dog....but could be great for yours!
I wanted to love this bc when it's raining out, it would be really great to keep my dog dry. But unfortunately I am returning it.What I didn't like:The first time I tried putting it on my dog to try it on, she was hesitant. I got it on her pretty quickly. But I did not put the straps around her legs.Wanted to get her used to it so I put it on her the next day and she turned around and nipped at me. She's not a biter. So I tried ONE more day and she turned around and snapped at me again. Which is ultimately why I am returning. Getting it over her head is fine. But wrapping my arms around her body to fasten it up is what she didn't care for. As a matter of fact, the 2nd and 3rd time putting it on her, she ran and hid in her cage when I picked it up. I did try rewarding her with treats while I put it on, which did help, but only briefly.However, it is also too small. She is 75 pounds. I bought her XLarge. It was too short. Some pictures show the coat going over the dogs backend. Ours did not even cover her whole back. I though an XLarge would have been sufficient.I did wind up putting the spandex leg straps on her and unless I did it wrong, I did not like those at all! They went up around her tail and were tight thru her hind quarters. Hardly seemed comfortable.What I liked:The feel of the material is really nice and soft. I liked how it covers under her neck and belly. We did not try in the rain nor did I get it wet, bc I wasn't sure we were keeping it so I didn't want to test it out that far.Lots of comments on the hood being small. Hood was very large on our dog. Plus, it could be tightened with the bungee cord.

This is the second one I've ordered. The first was too small; although I used their sizing chart & measured my pup accurately, it would not fasten in the chest area .. sent it back & ordered the next size up. It arrived today and, when I went to put it on my pup and go for a walk (in the rain) realized it did not have the hole for the leash to pass through and connect to her harness. IMO a lack of quality control.
REVIEW UPDATED FROM 2 TO STARS: Instead of just returning the 2nd poncho, I decided to give the company one more shot at getting it right because I liked the overall style and fit .. and they did. I was quickly sent a replacement, as well as refunded for the first one. The new one arrived today, with no defects, and fits my pup great. One of the things I really like about this poncho is the removable hood; it is fastened on by a zipper. Overall, the poncho appears to well constructed & durable .. time will tell.

First raincoats I’ve ever purchased for my pups. We moved and walk a lot now, necessitating something that keeps them dry and able to stay out to do their business when it’s raining. The raincoats are a perfect fit, which means no more toweling off all that water afterward. Easy to put on, which is a bonus with these wiggle bums. My staffie is 70 pounds with a typical longer staffie body, the XL was plenty big for him. My girl is 50 pounds and the large was perfect. She’s never worn a coat or anything so I was a bit worried if she would be a pill getting the raincoat on and while wearing it, but she is fine. They aren’t a fan of the hoods but it’s a nice feature to have. The hoods are removal too. Overall, well made and very worth the reasonable price.

I live in a rainy city and walk my dog 4 times per day. He hates the rain and definitely wishes we'd move somewhere with more tolerable weather. In the meantime, I thought a nice waterproof jacket would appease him.
While he looks super cute in this coat and it fits well, he can't walk in it for two reasons:
1) The front panel is too thick and stiff for him to move his front legs well, which prevents him from being able to walk up and down the stairs.
2) The elastic leg bands, which I didn't even realize were there until after a few wears, make it difficult for him to lift his rear legs.
If I carry him down the stairs and drag him down the street, sure, it keeps him dry. But unfortunately, my hunt for a raincoat that is comfortable for my dog *and* keeps him dry continues.
