This stainless steel drain protector is very good and would be especially good for long haired people, animals with long fur/hair and hair salons or barbershops. Though the basket in the center can easily be unscrewed it is not really necessary as the whole thing can be easily lifted out for easy cleaning. The silicon gasket on the bottom should stop any hair from sneaking by under it. This is a very well-made and nicely designed product.
After quite a few uses our shower, the slope in our tub is a bit too curvy for this flat-loving hair catcher. It appears some hair is slipping by the silicone gasket due to the slight curve of the tub so it is not working as well in our tub as I hoped. It is still a 5-star hair catcher. Just be aware that too much slope of a surrounding drain might stop it from working as well as intended.

The product is very well made from durable materials. The catch basket is very well threaded with precision so it screws in and off smoothly. The silicon gasket is tightly glued and fastened. There are no burs and the finish is smooth. And the product fits snuggly and well over the drain hole completely.

Only improvement is that there could be more holes for the water to drain. I did notice water gathering and taking time to drain, because the drainage holes were smaller than my original, standard drain cover.

I’m returning this product though, because my shower floor isn’t smooth. My shower floor has a “gravel stone” type finish making the floor uneven. This product is not made for uneven or textured floors.
