This is the second book the Play series by Piper Lawson and I really enjoyed this story as much as the first. This is a enemies to lovers’ set in the office and is such a great read. You first met Charlie and Avery in Play and it was nice for them to have their own story. Everything about this story was wonderful. The characters, the story, twist and turns, and the heat. The heat between Charlie and Avery was enough to burn my Kindle. You won’t be disappointed in picking up this story. I can’t wait to read what is coming up next in this series and more. What a fabulous office romance that had me laughing out loud. Charlie is so much more than an office assistant, she is a gutsy, take-charge, push the envelope kind of woman. She works for Avery and his high and mighty attitude has her pulling pranks on him to knock him down a bit. Really, replacing his underwear with a size smaller, who thinks of that? Loved it. What Charlie doesn’t realize is that Avery is standoffish to her because he is so attracted to her. When one of her pranks goes too far, he fires her but needs her help for a few weeks to prepare the companies big client event. When these two finally get honest with each other, the sparks fly and the romance is combustible because they were both holding back. But Charlie still needs to find a new job, really figure out her true passion. When the event is success, it looks like she will stay at the bank but Avery is against it. When she finally walks out of his life, will Avery realize the error of his ways. I never knew what to expect from Charlie, she is a breath of fresh air and is the perfect balance to Avery’s seriousness. I loved escaping into their whirlwind romance.

If you read the previous book Play, you know that Charlie is always the prankster. She has pulled one too many pranks on her boss Avery and he wants to fire her. He postpones her dismissal because he needs her to help him get a promotion. While working closely together the sparks start to fly. This is a sexy, hot, and at times hilarious book you won't want to put down. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
