This spring I set up some patio string lights so my family wouldn't have to use our flood lights at night. After getting the lights set up I wanted to add them to a smart switch so I could use Alexa to turn the lights on and off. Originally I purchased the iHome iSP100 Wifi Outdoor Smart Plug and was disappointed beyond belief. I have a full review of the iHome product but long story short is that I gave it a 2 star review rather than 1 star because the iHome stilled turned on my lights when I pushed the manual button. After I removed the iHome I went to find a GE smart switch because I already had 5 in my house and I was pleased with their performance. When I received the GE Enbrighten Z-Wave Plus Outdoor Smart Plug Switch it honestly took me more time to unpack the product than it did connecting to my SmartThings Hub. The setup was so simple, plug into wall, have the SmartThings Hub search for a new product, Name new product, Done! I honestly cannot state how easy the GE switch and SmartThings hub were to pair. I have learned my lesson and will not buy poor quality "Smart Products" like the iHome products. GE switches have been 100% reliable when connected to my SmartThings hub.
Recommend:
Yes, if you value your time don't buy other crap just to come back to this like I did.
Pros:
Easy setup
Worked the first time
Good build quality
Designed for outdoors
Connected to Alex in less than 5 minutes from when I took it out of the box (honestly)
Cons:
Cost $5 more than iHome (but I wasted more than $5 of my time trying to get the iHome to work)

The outlet has a nice, thick rubber seal on it to protect the outlet when not in use. It also has a mounting hole and comes with a wall anchor and screw, for mounting it to a wall and keeping it in place.
This paired perfectly in SmartThings, and can now be controlled like I had my other Christmas Lights outlet. I usually have my lights turn on at sunset, off at midnight, back on at 5am, and off again at sunrise. Although I am not using this full-time yet, I tested it in my outdoor GFI outlet to make sure the hub can communicate with it at a relatively long distance and the hub had no problem communicating with it.
This product is a must have for anyone who wants to safely control outdoor lights, fountains, etc. via their Z-wave hub.
For switches and outlets I made an extension cord with exposed conductors to bring the devices close and have had good success pairing every device. Just be sure to wire the extension cord adapter thru a nonmetallic jbox prior to plugging in so you’re not exposed to the current on the side terminals of switch/outlet.
Setup was pretty easy. I plugged it into a wall outlet near my hub so it would have an easier time of find the hub. The biggest issue with setup that made me actually think I got a dud is the power button was nearly impossible to press. I finally figured it out after several tries. This is why I am knocking off one star. The power button should have been better designed.
Over the Christmas season though, once setup, it's never had a hiccup, never shown as disconnected or missing and has never failed to turn things on and off as scheduled.
Yes, I could have purchased a different, cheaper power strip with day/night timer. But I love to be able to set schedules to turn on/off the switch and remotely control it.
Just wish it had 2 outlets like I've seen with some other smart Wi-Fi switches, but other than that, works great.
The alexa integration and response is really quick. I use smartthings and the hub is far from the plug, and the signal is just fine.

And I guess it doesn't matter because I'm still buying these plugs so let's get on with the review.
I mean, they work. Always. In the winter, minus a zillion, one solid inch of frozen rain. Buried in snow. Pouring rain. Powering 20w of lights or 1500w of heated snow melting mats. They pair easily, though I can only vouch for SmartThings. I've been using these almost 5 years with no issues.
It's on the bulky side, but is very solid. If form factor is a real issue there is also a zwave outlet option which I will review once I test it.
On entend commuter dedans mais ça veut plus rien faire. Je vais essayer de faire un protecteur pour ce bouton afin de l'isoler un peu et voir si ça corrige ce problème sans couper la liaison zwave
