Product Description

GARAGE DOOR SEALS

Having a good garage door seal and weather seal on your garage door is important to keep out snow, leaf, water, elements. If you have an uneven garage floor you can use a larger bottom seal to help close off gaps.

Replace your garage door bottom seal

garage door bottom seal replace Installation

Scrape dirt corrosion out of the garage door bottom seal track with a screwdriver and a stiff brush

garage door seal install

garage door bottom seal replace Installation

Step 1 Remove the old garage door seal

Lift the garage door to about 6 ft. high and pull the old garage door bottom seal out through the gap behind the door track.

Step 2 Clean the track

Scrape dirt and corrosion out of the garage door bottom seal track with a screwdriver and a stiff brush.

Step 3 Straighten the track

Pry open the slots that serve as a track for the bottom rubber gasket on either end of the garage door, using a screwdriver. Straighten the tracks along the bottom of the door with the screwdriver to make it easier to insert the new garage door seal.If your door currently does not have the ability to accept this style of weather seal, consider replacing the bottom retainer on the door.

Step 4 Lubricate the rubber and install

Mix a drop or two of dish detergent or other soap in a spray bottle filled with water. Spray the soapy mixture on the track and new gasket to serve as a lubricant.

To make it easier to feed the new gasket onto the track, hold the gasket at the same level as the track about 12 inches outside the door, then push and pull the new garage door bottom seal into the track.

Good quality. Get helper and plan enough time for installation
This product has a very good feel - the material has desired elasticity to follow the floor contour and provide a good seal.Packaged in a nice box and once unraveled regains immediately original shape.Taking the garage door apart is a sizeable job and not recommended for inexperienced people. Handling the springs would be necessary and many people got injured since panel garage doors entered the market decades ago. I do not recommend that - even though installation of the weather seal on an upside down bottom panel in an open space would be much easier than when installed. You might consider smoothening sharp edges of the profile you will be sliding the seal into with a file.Get ready with some soap water in a spray bottle or simply in a small bucket with a brush. Make the track wet with soap and keep adding soap on the rubber profile as you are sliding it in. In many cases there is not much room on the side of the door (unless your garage is a couple of ft wider than the door. This is where you may need one person - to feed in the rubber into the Al profile. You need to make sure it is coming in straight and folded in the "U" shape. Another person keeps pulling the end into the profile and the more you have in the more friction you will be dealing with. The last couple of feet is the hardest (and you will be tired). If you are done within an hour you did well. Have a beer!

Excellent garage door weatherstripping bottom seals by BOWSEN.
Easy to apply! Went on YouTube and checked a few videos to see application by sliding across. I did both garage doors with the 5/16 Inch T-End,10ft Long and trimmed. Easy to slide across the old aluminum and I applied silicone on both the front and back sides for additional seal. Put in side plugs. Done. Solid! 5🌟 product!
