'59 Humbucker Clones with All-American Mojo

If you're looking for American-made, vintage-vibe 'buckers for your G-style guitar, look no further than the Mojotone '59 PAF Clone Humbucking Pickup Set. These high-quality pickups (one for the bridge and one for the neck position) are made entirely of American parts in Burgaw, NC. They bring back the warmth, brightness, and articulation of the original '59 G-style open-coil humbucker with Alnico 4 cast magnets, a maple spacer, vintage-style screws, and slugs that are made to vintage spec's. Guitarists at Sweetwater love the treble bloom and the airy openness of the '59 Clones' unpotted coils, which are custom-wound and offset to produce an outstanding reincarnation of those classic "Patent Applied For" humbuckers.

Mojotone '59 Clone Humbucker Pickup Set Features:

  • 1 bridge and 1 neck humbucking pickup produce vintage-style PAF tone with authenticity
  • '59-spec butyrate bobbins and long leg frame, plain enamel wire, and Alnico 4 magnets
  • Bright and warm with excellent articulation from unpotted coils
  • High notes sing out with exceptional bloom and airy openness
  • Nickel covers included for cool classic vibe

What an upgrade.

I had an Epiphone Les Paul that was a project guitar. I’ve made some changes, and after doing those, I noticed the pickups were not nearly as good as I at first thought. I researched a lot and went with the Mojotone 59’s for the reputation of the company, and also the leaning towards me wanting a vintage PAF style humbucker.

Lots of the Seymour Duncan’s I looked at seemed too hot particularly on the bridge.

These Clone ‘59s just sound beautiful. The description says they sound vintage and chime, and they do ring out clear as a bell and you can hear every note in chords, great output and clear with drive. I spent quite a while adjusting them and they now blow me away. Know they should be obviously better than the stock epiphone ones, but the difference is completely night and day.

I highly recommend these to someone who is looking for something as an alternative to the usual Seymour Duncan’s or Di Marzios.

If I made another, or modded another guitar I wouldn’t hesitate at all to look at MojoTone Pickups first. Worth every penny. $350 total in the guitar, and it’s mostly the... pickups that make it sound like a $1000+ Gibson.

Thanks Mojotone and Sweetwater for turning my cheap guitar into a pleasure to play and a pure joy.

Real deal

Im always skeptical of pickup reviews because you just don't know but I traded out the 85/15 in my PRS ce24 for these and couldn't be happier. I'm genuinely blown away. These things just sing, it's something vocal in them that I love. So impressed and well worth it!

I have a new source for pickups!

I have been a long time, very satisfied customer of another pickup manufacturer (whose initials are SD) and was considering what to use in a 335 clone that I was upgrading. After reading the uniformly glowing reviews for the '59 Clones I decided to take a chance on them and I am completely satisfied with their tone: detailed, complex and airy like a good P.A.F. copy should be. I'll politely disagree with those who feel that they're better than Antiquity Humbuckers, but they are quite wonderful.
The only problem that I had was with delivery. After USPS said they were delivered they were nowhere to be found. After a call to Devin Sonnier they arrived promptly. Hats off to Devin and the rest of the Sweetwater team for their superlative customer service!
