Make Me #3

Make Me Stay

Rate this book
Never trust a man who wears nothing more than a cowboy hat and ripped jeans who asks if you’d like to save a horse and ride a . . . well, you get the picture.

Being a travel photographer has its perks but when Colton Langston collides into me and offers to model, he’s an unexpected surprise for my current project.

I’ve been warned about Southern men—their sexy accents and charming ability to get any woman in bed—which is something I’ll avoid since I’m only here temporarily.

When we’re forced to see each other every day, the spark between us ignites, and soon he’s making me want to stay.

*Can be read as a complete stand-alone! Formally titled Falling for the Cowboy. Content has not changed.*

SPOILERS!!! ......

Read up to 25% then DNF'd because I was bored to death and angry that not one reviewer bothered to state how much OW drama this book contains!

So here's the truth...Hero (after meeting heroine) is still not over his ex! Five years after their breakup and he is still heartbroken & angry at her for breaking his heart... Hate that trope with a passion so I'll pass thank you very much!

“Well, as I said, I was in a long-term relationship. We were engaged. We were so young, and my entire life revolved around her. When I found out she’d been cheating on me, my whole world stopped. I didn’t know how to function or breathe or even live life without her.

I started dating Mallory in high school. We were about fourteen. I was one hundred percent devoted to her. Madly, crazy stupid in love with her. So much that I stayed here after graduation to get a job and save money while she went off to college four hours away. She wanted to get an education so she could get a decent job, and we could be financially stable. I worked and put money away for our wedding and a down payment on our future house. I even sent her money when she needed it because she wasn’t working. We had planned to get married once she graduated, but during her junior year…"

I pause, not realizing how tight my throat is or the pain that’s stiffening my spine.

“During her junior year, she came home one weekend and told me she was pregnant. I was shocked but also excited. I wanted kids and a family with her. The timing wasn’t ideal, but still, I was over the moon.” After inhaling a deep breath, I continue. “Nine months later, I learned she’d been cheating on me for the past three years, and that the baby girl I’d fallen in love with throughout her pregnancy wasn’t…mine.”

“I was devastated. I was for a really long time.”

“How long ago was it?” I ask.

“Five years. She stayed in San Antonio and raised the baby there. I heard it through the grapevine that she ended up marrying the father, so I tried my best to move on. However, after being together for so long and being so head over heels in love with her, I didn’t process not having her in my life very well.”

“You were young. No one in your position would know how to properly react.” I do my best to reassure him. “Shame on her for cheating in the first place, but to not even tell you until the baby was born is unforgivable.”

“Trust me, I was mad. So goddamn angry with her for betraying me like that, but also mad because, in the blink of an eye, I’d lost everything. I didn’t know how to function after that, so I drank to numb the pain. Drank so damn much that I’d wake up and not even remember what happened the night before or how I got home. Shamelessly enough, I wouldn’t even remember who the girl in my bed next to me was. Those were some of the lowest points of my life.”

“I’ve spent years trying to forget what Mallory did to me, but it’s been difficult. Everything around this town reminds me of her and all the memories we made together. I’m a broken man because of her, and maybe that’s partially my fault because I never tried to move on”.

After he confesses all this to the heroine, the OW of course shows up to work at the same ranch as him for his Boss and he is angry as hell at her for walking away with him because he still is not over her!

“I know I hurt you, Colton—”

“Hurt me?” I turn back around, my blood pressure rising by the second. “That’s the fucking understatement of the fucking century!” I shout, and her breath hitches as she leans back. “I gave you everything,” I seethe. “You didn’t hurt me. You fucking destroyed me and everything I believed about love and relationships. You made me believe we were having a child together. I fell in love with her before she was even born. We were starting a life, making plans, planning a fucking wedding! You didn’t hurt me. You broke me for years. That’s something you have to live with, so don’t expect me to help you feel better about yourself for what you did.”

After that, didn't care to read anything further...

It was the best damn thing to be back in the Bishop Ranch. I have missed all the Bishops so so much and to be back in this world and see most of them again was the greatest. I was so happy for the few hours I spent devouring this book. And I did devour it, I loved Colton and Presley's story SO much. These two were super cute and so much damn fun. I laughed a lot and giggled even more. God, I really loved them and this book. It had been a while since I read a book so damn fast, just comes to show that I could have kept on reading about these two for a really long time. Honestly, if it were up to me I would stay in the Bishop Ranch FOR-freaking-EVER!!!!

Not to be replacing any of my babies or anything but I think this was one of the best Kennedy Fox books to date. I mean, no one replaces my baby Jackson but Colton was super amazing too. I just LOVED this book so much. Everything about it, the setting, their professions, the characters (main and secondary of course), all the feels, the chemistry and attraction was off the charts, evey single thing in this book was perfect!

I loved Presley so much. I love her fire and comebacks, I love how she didn't fall at Colton's feet at first glance, I love that she gave him a piece of her mind always. I enjoyed their banter sooooo much, ahh. And she's a professional bookstagrammer, so I could relate to her and her passion for photography and books and it was just amazing to read all about her and see the ins and outs of someone who does it professionally. I think every bookstagrammer out there could relate to Presley in a way, even if you're not that into photography or are not doing it professionally like her, our love for books is the common denominator and that in itself makes this book special.

Colton was *sigh* amazing! He was the true cowboy - perfect southern charm, ripped tight jeans, abs for days, confidence for life and just the perfect damn package. We had met him before in the Bishop Brothers series and we saw him as a womanizer who partied a lot with Jackson but just like Jackson was much more than his womanizing days, so was Colton and boy did he turn out to be super special too. He had his own sad story and had gotten over a big heartbreak but he was ready to give his heart to Presley... only problem was she was from Los Angeles and he was from Texas and there was also the fact that she had a career he didn't want to get in the way of... would the connection they built in that amazing and unforgettable week be enough for them to find a way to be together despite everything?

Find out in this spectacular and fun book! My personal favorite in the BedTime Reads series!

“𝐼’𝑚 𝑎𝑓𝑟𝑎𝑖𝑑 𝐼 𝑎𝑙𝑟𝑒𝑎𝑑𝑦 ℎ𝑎𝑣𝑒.”

𝐅𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐰𝐛𝐨𝐲 by Kennedy Fox was just what I needed! The perfect 𝘣𝘦𝘥𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘥 that doesn’t skimp on the feels and delivers on the sexy and sweet in a pretty big way! This addictive standalone romance gives us the heat, humor, and heart that we’ve all come to expect from the ladies of Kennedy Fox. Presley and Colton were a dream even though they were complete opposites. They butted heads at every turn giving us the delicious enemies-to-lovers banter that pushes a romance to a whole other level. As a romance reader, Presley and Colton’s charming story gave me butterflies and giggles. As a bookstagrammer, their story gave me tons of ridiculous inspiration! Trust me when I say that this sexy small-town southern romance will leave you with nothing but the sweetest dreams!

Falling for the Cowboy is my favorite book in this series so far!!

Kennedy Fox returns to the Circle B and I could not be happier to see the Bishop brothers again. Don't worry, if you didn't read that series, nothing is really given away and does not take away from this story either. This can be read as a complete standalone.

This story will be every Bookstagrammer's (who is single) dream!!! Presley is living her dream - she's a photographer and gets to travel everywhere for her shots; she shoots for book covers, author pics, and does her own shots on the side for her bookstagram accounts.

Presley is on location at the Circle B for her next project when she and Colton have their first run-in. Presely was already warned about the Cowboy Casanovas so she's already on high alert when Colton tries to flirt with her. However, as much as they rag on one another, their chemistry is impossible to miss.

I am usually a hard one to win over when it comes to quick romances. It takes a lot for me to see how the characters don't confuse lust with love but in this particular story, these ladies nail it. The ease and natural interactions between Colton and Presley are hard to miss, so it only seems natural how things progress, even in their short time together.

I love how everything played out and I am really looking forward to the next book in this series!

I genuinely don't know how this series isn't a bigger deal! I've been a KF fan since day one, but as they've continued to write together, their books have gotten stronger and stronger. This book was personally one of my favorites of theirs (second only to Keeping Him)

The Bedtime Reads series is a bit shorter than the KF standard, but is packed to the brim with humor, ridiculously sweet emotional moments, and their trademark hot AF sex scenes. I loved being back on the Bishop Ranch and can't wait for the duets they have coming later this year!

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie's Book Reports.

Never trust a man who wears nothing more than a cowboy hat and ripped jeans who asks if you'd like to save a horse and ride a...well you get the picture. That should have been enough for me to walk away. I've been warned on sereral occasions that souther men-with their sexy accents, charming manners, and the ability to easily get any woman in bed-which is something I'll be avoiding. Being a professional photographer has many perks. Traveling around the work, calling all the shots, and working with subject matter that isn't bad to look at. But, Colton Lanston with his washboard abs and baby blue eyes, could care less about my current project. He is trouble, I know it, and he's determined to make me work for every single photo. When I am forced into riding lessons, I get way more than I ever bargained for, and by the time my trip is over, I'm in too deep. Being with him was thrilling, but falling for him is unpredictable. And ignoring him will be impossible.

To me there is nothing better than being engrossed in a Kenndey Fox book and especially one on the Bishop Ranch. These two ladies write some seriously good books, and I have yet to read on that I didn't love. Falling for the Cowboy is not exception and this is a book that you do not want to miss. Colton and Presley have one amazing story that had me devouring this book. This is a story that has everything you love in a good romance. They are so funny and their interactions are to die for. Presley is one of those female characters that you just know if she was real she would be one of your very best friends. She is fiesty and strong and gives as good as she gets. She is not going to let Colton get the better of her. She gives him a piece of her mind quiet often and I loved that she just didn't fall at his feet and become on of those girls that you just want to roll your eyes at sometimes in romance novels. Plus to make her even better than she already is she is a book lover and loves to take photos and put them on Instagram. She is very serious about what she does and she is just the most amazing character. Colton too is one amazing man. Get ready to swoon and want a Colton of your very own. I am from the south but his southern charm is just nothing short of amazing. Where were these kinds of guys when I was in the dating world? He has however been hurt and he has had to struggle to get over it. But upon meeting Pressley he is more than ready to fall for her but the one thing standing in their way is that she is from Los Angeles and he is based in Texas and that distance just seems to be to much. I loved that he respected that Presley had a career that she was passionate about and that he didn't want to stand in the way of that. He is not a selfish man by any means and I was rooting for these two so hard that if things hadn't turned out right I would have been devestated. That said I am not saying that is a easy ride and that your going to know what is going to happen in this book. You won't and it is filled with just so many moments you are going to love and remember forever. You do not want to miss this or for that matter any Kenndy Fox book. That you ladies for the time I get to spend in your world and devouring your words and the worlds that you create.

I read this in one sitting. Wow.
I'm definitely biased as the love interest had my boyfriend's name... but I thoroughly enjoyed this.

I have been waiting for Colton's book, and if definitely did not disappoint.

Colton was such a romantic and tried to impress Presley at all times. Even though he was skeptical of relationships, he was all in from the beginning.

Presley was a bookstagrammer, and I really want to be her. Making a career out of photography and books...sign me up! She was so focused and career driven. I loved her passion for her job!

This book was low angst and their relationship could not have unfolded any better. They grew together as a couple and proved their love for one another.

The ending proved that they were both willing to put themselves on the line to try to make their relationship work.

I am a sucker for a Kennedy Fox book, and they already have me wanting more. Kat and Braxon's story is going to be so interesting, and I cannot wait!

Life isn’t worth living if you have no one to share it with.

I can’t express how much I adore Kennedy Fox. Their words are life. I absolutely loved this book. Colton is so swoon-worthy — I’m calling dibs! I loved the setting of this - the whole bookstagram was awesome. Presley was full of sass and I loved it! The banter between all the characters was fabulous. I laughed so many times. I definitely foresee a KF binge coming on!

I need her more than sunshine or rain.

Friends, this romance was about a BOOKSTAGRAMMER. You heard me. It’s the first book in any genre that I have EVER read about a bookstagrammer and so I’m willing to overlook the issues I have with the body positivity representation and the sex scenes being a lot more crass than I like in my romances. I am all for the steam and open door scenes but there are words I prefer and don’t prefer and this one used ALL the ones I don’t prefer, and often. But remember how it’s about a bookstagrammer???? LOVE THAT. Also, the next in the series will be on the Read Me Romance podcast and I love that show, so I’m here for it.

Did I mention it’s about a bookstagrammer??? And it’s on Kindle Unlimited so it was an easy sell for me 😉

⭐️ 4 "Cowboy Casanova" Stars ⭐️
Kennedy Fox is one of my very favorite writing duo for a reason. They write heart-warming novels with charming characters and Falling for the Cowboy is another one of these lovely stories. This slow burn romance is so sweet and made my heart melt. The fact I return at the Circle B Ranch B&B and got more of the Bishops was even more appealing!

"I'd take any amount of time with you and cherish it because no matter what, it'd never feel like enough."

I was so intrigued about Colton from the little glimpses I got of him in the Bishop Brothers Series. He’s a cocky cowboy, but under his smug persona hides a truly kind and attentive guy. Seriously, that man is so dreamy and made me sigh and swoon! I was really surprized by his past and it made me love him even more.

Presley! I loved this lively heroine obsessed with bookstagram and photo sessions. She’s driven by her passion for her work and it shows in her excitement. She’s also pretty confident even though she demonstrates some moments of doubts too.

Colton and Presley together are so beautiful. Presley isn’t easily won by Colton’s charismatic personality and hot body. They share a certain animosity at first, but it slowly evolves into a beautiful friendship and more. Their romance progresses at the perfect pace and their banters are so amusing. They’re hot and sweet at the same time!

"I found a man you'd rope the moon for me if he could."

Falling for the Cowboy is unquestionably a cute short read that will put a swarm of butterflies in your stomach. This adorable couple will surely win you over!

“I didn’t get your name,” he says.

“I didn’t give it to you.” I walk around him, set my plate down on the table, then march back upstairs.

Falling for the Cowboy is the final story in Kennedy Fox’s Bedtime Reads- think of them like quickies. Full length, standalones that are 100% bingeable- read ’em in one sitting.

Cowboy is bittersweet in many ways, while Keeping Him was an end to a Kfox era, (the Bishops) Cowboy is like the cherry on top as we make our way back to the Bishop ranch one last time.

Presley is a photographer first, but ultimately a Bookstagrammer and jesusfuckingchrist, how perfectly meta. Colton works for the Bishops on the ranch, doing cowboy things, and being sexy as fuck, obviously. I don’t know how Brooke and Lyra did it (dragging me kicking and screaming), but I now have a bit of a thing for cowboys. Thanks for that, y’all.

“Watch out for those cowboys though. They’ll rope your heart with one end then tie you up with the other.”

A strict “no sexy times with the guests” and a gorgeous red head with curves that demand you buckle up and hang on make for a hot, tension powered, quick read with a satisfying happily ever after.

“So you’ve never ridden before?” I ask.

“Not a horse,” she quips. Instantly, the thought of her riding me enters my mind, but I try to push it away. I can’t help imagining my fingers digging into her thick hips as she takes me whole. Fuck.

Presley is doing what she wants, living her best life, but Colton throws a horseshoe into the mix, and suddenly she is torn between chasing her dreams and allowing new ones to root- ones that don’t involve her solo adventures around the country/world.

The playfulness between these two makes it impossible not to root for them from the start. When they finally stop fighting the pull they have towards each other, it is sweet and sultry.

She looks up at me and I place my finger under her chin. I know I shouldn’t kiss her, I shouldn’t make a move, but when she licks her lips, I can’t deny the way I feel. I slowly lean in and watch her eyes flutter closed and it’s all the permission I need.

When you learn that Colton is going to be that guy that will support his woman’s dreams, her ambitions, will refuse to hold her back from taking on the world- it is stupid to deny how utterly perfect he is.

I feel like I’m falling for Colton all over again, to be honest.

Falling for the Cowboy is a sweet, fun romance with trademark Kennedy Fox steam that makes you swoon.

It was impossible to read this book without smiling!

I absolutely loved the dynamic of Colton and Presley’s relationship from beginning to end!

Presley is my favorite type of heroine.

Sassy, with a backbone and a bit of vulnerability to make her relatable.

Colton was swoony, hardworking and deliciously sexy.

I loved the way he purposely pushed Presley’s buttons as it made for one heck of an entertaining read!

The beloved Bishops were amazing as side characters and made this book feel familiar in a way that warms your heart.

This was a slow burn romance with plenty of chemistry and sexual tension between the main characters to keep you excitedly anticipating the moment they FINALLY give in to their attraction!

Falling for the Cowboy is Book 3 in the amazing Bedtime Reads series yet it can be read as a complete standalone.

One of my top reads of 2019🙌🏻

This book is absolutely AMAZING👏🏻I would have to say it is my favorite out of the bedtime series. Presley and Colton’s chemistry is HOT🔥AF. The way they meet is hilarious. The banter between the two throughout the entire story is on point🙌🏻 It is true what they say one woman’s loss is another ones gain. This book is jam packed with all the feels. These characters will keep you occupied from start to finish! I loved seeing glimpses of the Bishop brothers and their woman. I CAN NOT wait for Braxton and Kat’s story🤗 any possibilities of a spin off series? Everly, Jake, Presley’s siblings...oh the possibilities🤩 Kennedy Fox you ladies are seriously AWESOME!

Presley is a photographer who loves to read and gets to travel everywhere for her shots. She shoots for book covers, author pics, and takes pictures of books in different backgrounds for her bookstagram.

Presley travels to the Bishop ranch, where she meets Colton. She is staying there to get some shots for her next project. Presley acts like she doesn't like or can't stand Colton but it's all an act. Colton is a tease and teases her every chance he gets. As the days go by these two become friends with the hope of more because of the chemistry and the developing feeling brewing. But Colton lives for the ranch and Presley travels for a living. These two can't have more than the week she staying there. What happens when you find that chemistry with some and it doesn't have a long shelf life because of the lives you lead? Can you give in and enjoy your time together and move on without looking back?

I love a good romance story and this doesn't disappoint. I love their banter back and forth and how these two grow to like each other and see that chemistry grow. This one is a slow build but when they feel it BAM! They feel it and strongly with love and passion. I seriously love and have read all of Kennedy Fox's books. I am a big Brooke Cumberland fan and have read all her books too. So when I found out she was the author who co-wrote these books it like all made sense because I love her other work too. This one is a must read. Go click out this books and all their other books. Loved it!

I was so looking forward to this book because I knew Presley was going to Texas and I was hoping she would find a little love there as well.

What Presley doesn't plan for is how much she loves it there. The B & B she is staying at is filled with family and the ranch is full of beautiful cowboys. The secondary characters are fun and make the whole book more well-rounded. Presley is a photographer who is immersed into the book world. She is living the life she always wanted but always being on the go can get a bit lonely. But she doesn't know how to make the two worlds meet, but for a certain cowboy she is willing to entertain the idea of something more.

Colton is a bit broken and jaded by his messy past. He hasn't quite gotten over the one who broke up his world and encountering her in town is not helping the situation. Colton went through a rough patch and is putting his focus on the ranch and going through the motions. He doesn't expect someone like Presley to rock his world but she comes with her own host of complications, not to mention the ex.

Drama, tons of chemistry, and a sweet town all rolled into one delightful story. There were points that things were a bit drawn out and I wanted other things to happen a bit faster, but that is not how the feisty red-head and sexy cowboy roll. I am a big fan of this collaboration and always look forward to who will find their happy ever after next.

The very last book in the bedtime reads series, although I would be totally open if Kennedy Fox wrote more in this series, because I love the super quick reads! I also loved coming back to the ranch with so many other characters that I've grown to know and almost feel like they're part of my group...

Okay, so right from the beginning, you dive into this story between Colton and Presley. The sexual tension between the two of them is so thick you could cut it with a knife, it's insane!

Being back at the ranch, you get all of these other characters who have had their own story, and the dynamic is just the same. Witty banter, lots of love and kids, and of course you can't forget about Mama Bishop! I felt like Presley already belonged there, she eased into the family so easily.

Personally I felt like there could have been something more to the story. There's a moment of drama, but honestly it didn't feel like it was earth-shattering necessarily. It was definitely a quick cute romance where you can tell these two really like one another.

Overall this was a really cute read! I loved the dynamic between the two and all the other characters as well! Definitely the type of read you'll get through in one sitting, it's so fast paced.

A sweet, sexy romance that started off with quick wit and cute banter! Colton and Presley were thrown together; quite literally, and instantly there was a spark! It might have been out of anger but hey you gotta start somewhere! These two instantly became frenemies but still couldn’t keep away! When the attraction grew both had a decision to make they just had to hope they didn’t break in the process!

I loved that this story was over the top dramatic, its was funny and so close to real life I was absolutely sucked in with the story line and the characters (gosh how I missed the Bishops) I also love the new additions and can’t wait for more of this amazing town!

imagine my surprise when we’re back with the bishop brothers and their antics in another series. the entire group is still loud, friendly and charming. presley’s a firecracker who has an arsenal of sassy comebacks. she has the best job too. a photographer who gets to travel the world, and authors send her books to review and promote via her bookstagram account. i never thought i would read about a bookstagrammer in a book before but falling for the cowboy is full of surprises. colton’s witty and charismatic. he’s pretty jaded about the whole dating scene but meeting and knowing presley has changed his mindset. i had lots of fun reading their story!

I love a romance that makes me smile and allows me to relax and have fun while I read it. Falling for the Cowboy delivered all of that and more. Presley is a photographer and loves traveling to capture just the right shot for her clients. She has a strong Bookstagram following since her photos are so amazing which leads her to the Bishop’s ranch in Texas to get western shots for several books. On her first morning, she encounters Colton and not in the best way. Thus, begins a wonderful back and forth. Colton has been working on the Bishop ranch for several years and loves the work. When he meets Presley, well, he is captivated by her spirit and passion for her work. When she needs a cowboy model, he definitely wants to be her subject. I love how the romance book world is a key part in this journey as Colton learns about the world of Instagram as they fight their intense chemistry. What happens when Presley’s two weeks are up? Does this unlikely pair have a chance at a lifetime of love? I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.

Falling for the Cowboy is fun, sexy read and is just what I needed! First off, THANK YOU for bringing back the Bishop family and the ranch!!!! Colton and Presley meet while she’s having a “workcation” at the ranch. They had an instant chemistry, funny & cute banter, and I honestly kept chanting “kiss her, kiss her” over and over! Their slow burn romance had me giddy, I could not wait until they both gave in ;)

I love Presley for the strong willed, get sh*t done woman she is and Colton is a confident, sexy cowboy who has had his heart broken in the worst possible way. But when the two of them are together? Pure FIRE!! Their hilarious banter, the jokes they play on each other, their undeniable spark was absolute perfection!

I’m sad to see the Bedtime Reads series come to a close as I truly enjoyed every book in the series. However, I looking forward to all the things Kennedy Fox has in store for us in 2019!

Colton is slowly learning not to question his woman, “seriously? That sounds corny as eff.” She flashes me a look, and I almost regret questioning her. “Fine.” I chuckle, feeling like an idiot. This pose is ridiculous." Colton is quite the charmer, “you’re my exception. That perky *** caught my attention the first day I ran into you, and it’s distracted me ever since.” I loved this book, I fell in love with Colton.

Love witty banter? Love a sexy cowboy? Love some sexual tension? Love a fiery redhead? Love anything by Kennedy Fox? Then this is ONE book you will definitely want to read.

I was hooked on this book from the very beginning. Presley is sassy, she is hard working, she isn’t afraid to be herself and she isn’t afraid to chase after her dreams. Colton is a hardworking, sexy cowboy. He is super sweet, and the man can cook!? Could he be anymore perfect? Oh yeah, he can. He was the perfect model and assistant to all of Presley’s bookstagram pictures!

I found myself laughing so much while reading this book, but I also found myself yelling at it because the will they or won’t they was killing me. I just wanted the two to give in to each other. This book was the perfect book for reading in one setting, it packed a punch. It was steamy, it was funny, and full of sexual tension that everyone loves.

I can’t wait to read more about some of the other characters in this book **cough cough Braxton** This book can be read as a standalone, but the entire Bedtime series is fantastic!
