Never trust a man who answers the door wearing nothing more than a pair of low-cut jeans and a panty-melting smirk.

Being a romance novelist comes with its perks but when Ethan Rochester enters my life and interrupts my solo writing retreat, my world turns upside down.

I write about guys like him for a living—sexy and charming, yet reluctant to get into a serious relationship. His body’s the ultimate temptation, but his condescending personality makes him a notorious heartbreaker.

When we’re forced to be neighbors, he makes me forget my rules, and soon my upcoming deadline isn’t the only thing I’m dreading.

➳Well, this book was sure as hell something alright...

➳Usually, next door neighbor type of romances are not my thing. And they will still be NOT my thing. I had to give this novel a chance since I am a huge fan of the authors, I needed to see if they would be able to get me out of the un-comfort zone in regards to next door neighbor romances. Unfortunately, my dislike for them is still there but that does not mean I din't enjoy this book. There were pieces here and there that made me want to cringe and take a step back and analyze what just happened, but since I am a true believer of both authors, giving it a shot was a no brainer.

➳In regards to both characters, they are both rather... interesting. As I am being honest, I couldn't decipher their chemistry at first. Not until I got up to 78% through the book. Which should be a shocker since if I do not else an instal-chemistry off the bat, then I wouldn't continue with said novel. It was hard to continue it, but the drama building up to it caught me off guard and kept me interested for more. Not for more of their romance, but for once, more of their personal struggles.

➳Overall, this was a novel that I did not fully enjoy reading, but had no issues by finishing it. Otherwise, I would have never finished it at all...

This is the first book in a series. Vada is a girl from Chicago who goes to Charleston to get rid of her writting slump. There she rents a cottage from Ethan. When vada gets there Ethan answers the door .. No shirt on. Jeans hanging off his hips and wet hair. Vada is shocked... Ethan smirks. This is there story. I loved Ethan. Vada was ok. She was stubborn.. I would recommend this book to everyone who likes hot bad boys.

My Week with the Bad Boy started off pretty well, it seemed like a light and fun read and I was instantly ready to enjoy my night with it. However, as I read on it kind of went downhill. I can say that for the majority of the book I was actually enjoying it even with some slight issues that I had.

I didn't feel a connection between these characters and I was also questioning their background since there was never really a character development. We knew more about Ethan, yet still very little for me to feel like I understood his character, and Vada we had a small hint of her past yet it never went into very much detail. This is all something I could, and did, get over as I was reading since the tone of the book was very light and enjoyable.

But then we get to the end where the inevitable Romance Book Break Up happened, which started my annoyance with these character at how that went down, and my enjoyment quickly went kaput. Let's remember that these characters have only been together for one week at this point and after this part of the book these authors skip ahead a full year. The second I saw the words One Year Later my brain just said "Oh shit..." knowing it was all going downhill. I just personally don't see the romance in two characters spending a whole year apart when they're so supposed to be oh so in love. After that I read on with a bad attitude about everything happening.

Once I finished the story and started to complain to my reader friends all the smaller things that I had looked past, such as the little to no character development, came back to me and made me even more disappointed. I'm a fan of this writing duo and loved the Checkmate series but this book was just not for me. I will still read them and recommend their stories, though, because this is the first time after many book that I haven't had a great reading experience.

My week with the Bad Boy is the type of novel you pick up to relax your imagination and enjoy the ride. It’s sexy, romantic, funny and thoroughly entertaining. The ideal blend of romance, humor, angst, and spice!

Ethan and Vada make such a cute couple! New love is so much fun and I love reading about the ins and outs of it. The dialogue sparkles but I truly love the sexual sparks these two emit. It crackles from the pages.

The plot is captivating, with lots of humor, and a little heartache, but with a heartwarming HEA. Granted, this is not a book that will make you really think about life and want to research or discuss aspects of important topics. It's a fun read that is not meant to go very deep. That was exactly what I liked about it. It’s a book full of charm and wit and is a definite must read if you need some cheering up.

In short:
Hero 5/5 | Heroine 5/5 | Plot (Point, Originality) 3/5 | Writing Style 4/5 | Steam 5/5 | Romance 4/5 | Angst-Suspense 3/5 | Darkness 0/5 | Humor 4/5 | Secondary Characters 4/5 | Drama-Conflict 4/5 | Mystery 0/5 | Twists 4/5 | Pacing Fast | Action 3/5

Honestly, this was a pretty good, fast-paced, smut-tastic read. It's on the shorter side for this writing duo and wasn't quite what I expected, but overall enjoyable.

The narration is good. It's a really quick listen. I was able to finish the book during a day of running errands and folding laundry. This is the best way to make laundry enjoyable, BTW.
What I loved:
I particularly enjoy books about the book world. The heroine is a writer and takes a quick vacation to get her muse going. I enjoyed that setup a lot.
The hero is very witty and funny. I liked quite a bit about this sexy little audiobook, but don't wait to spoil the fun.

My only issue really didn’t pop up until after the conflict. The length of time the couple was apart didn’t seem plausible to me. The quick rekindling of their relationship made it that much more implausible. For whatever reason, it disagreed with.

However, aside from that, it had everything I love about shorter, fast-paced romances.

3.75 STARS - Somewhere between I liked it and I really liked.

This was a fun, low angst sexy read.

Vada and Ethan’s relationship starts out with a lot of animosity due to their preconceived notion of each other. Ethan appears as the sexy bad boy player and Vada comes off as uppity and snobbish. However, they quickly move past this because of their instant attraction to each other. The banter between these two was hit or miss for me. Funny at times and at other times, fell short.

I usually don’t mind insta-love but the fast progression of this relationship was too unrealistic for me. In less than a week they went from hating each other to having sex with no expectations to falling in love. Regardless, the chemistry between these two was off the charts and the steam factor in this book was done just right.

My heart broke for Ethan. His story was tragic and heart wrenching and it explains his initial need to keep Vada at a distance. When he does decide to commit, he became the ultimate swoony, sexy boyfriend. Seriously, the patience and dedication he showed to prove to Vada how much he loved her was so heartwarming.

Overall, this was an enjoyable light, sexy read but I thought it was slightly rushed and I didn’t completely connect with these characters.

Chicago Romance writer Vada needs a vacation to finally get her new book written - off to Charleston she goes. She rented a little guesthouse from a guy online.
But she wasn't expecting this mega-hot, shirtless guy to open the door.
Ethan makes his money creating beautiful pottery pieces. He's a huge internet hit with his live videos of making his famous coffee mugs. He also has a very sad past.
But Vada thinks he's just one of those horrible bad boys she's always writing about.
They do NOT get along at first!
But of course they're also very attracted to each other.
Lots of banter and arguin and flirting ensue!

What will happen to Vada & Ethan?
Will there be a HEA?
READ THE BOOK TO FIND OUT!!!! ☺

That was adorable!

And funny. And erotic!
But also moving and sad.
Great romance! Great characters, a beautiful location, lots of fun and sexy times!
I really enjoyed reading it! I so want to rent Ethan's cottage now! ☺

But ... I was also hoping for a bit more. I don't even know what I mean by that.
I loved Ethan and his sad past and Vada was really great too. But the story was a bit flat/ordinary for my tastes. Some of the jokes were horribly unfunny, everything was too predictable and... no idea. I expected something a bit more ... fresh, new, inspired, amazing. There was a lot of potential for more ...

And the cover - not my thing. The guy looks like a retired Chippendale - not a 30-year-old potter with a sad past!

And the writing. Just like with all other Kennedy Fox books, I had my problems with the way those ladies write. I have no idea why. I was always thinking that it's a local dialect kind of problem - but Brooke and Lyra are from different places! I know I'm weird with my book problems, but ... some expressions are just strange or wrong and ... no idea. I can't explain it. But when I finished this book and started my next one, I immediately noticed the difference in the writing - the new book just flowed so much better for my weird brain. No offense B+L - I love your books and will keep on reading them. I'm just so very weird with many book things!!!

BUT - all that doesn't mean that the book sucked! Nooo - it's just my weird weirdness when it comes to books. Or maybe I just had an off day! PLEASE DON'T LISTEN TO ME - READ IT!

Also, I'm really excited to see where book #2 will take us - on the road with a cover model!!! ☺☺☺

MY WEEK WITH THE BAD BOY was an adorable & funny & sexy & moving romance! Run to your nearest amazon for your own Ethan - this one and his Patrick Swayze pottery machine are SO mine!!!!

Falling for the Bad Boy was a next-door neighbor, small-town romance about a guy suffering in silence and a girl who spoke before thinking. I wanted to love it. I wanted to love it so hard. And if this story was about Ethan working his way through his grief and finding new purpose and then falling for a woman who deserved the greatness of his love, I probably would have. But I failed to connect to the relationship he shared with Vada.

❀ I much preferred when they were frenemies. I liked the tension that existed between them from their first meeting, be it sexual or otherwise.
❀ I liked that despite the fact that she was quick to make judgments about things she didn't know, he was laughing at her on the inside. I was laughing right along with him. She was condescending and superior and she had no right to be.
❀ I loved Ethan's family. His mother and his aunt were the highlights of this story!
❀ I didn't feel the build up to the relationship was satisfying enough. I guess I wanted to see Ethan reach real closure and I wanted Vada to suffer through something to introduce her to some humility.

In the end, there was a whole lot of instalust and hating going on and if that's your cup of tea, then sip. I've loved other books from these authors and I know I'll be reading something else from them in the future and finding another one of their stories to fall in love with.

Side note: I'm still very much in love with the original cover of this book. I have a copy of it on my bookshelf 😋

4 “this feeling is giving me a high,” Stars!

Vada is a romance author renting out a guest house in Charleston, so that she can have some relaxation and inspiration for her current WIP. When she finally meets the owner it’s like he’s a bad boy pulled right off the pages of one of her novels. He’s hot, cocky, and a bit of a jerk. Someone she definitely needs to stay away from even if her body is telling her the opposite. Ethan has another thing in mind all together. He wants Vada, and he knows the feelings mutual. The real question is will they keep their relationship friendly, or take it to sexy!

If you’re looking for fun and sexy with flirty banter, then My Week with the Bad Boy is where it’s at. I honestly wasn’t sure about this one going in, but I ended up falling in love with Vada & Ethan. Vada is sassy and fun, and the perfect sporadically introverted author girl. Ethan is witty and yes a bit of a jerk, but he’s also so sweet and swoony! Their story has a romcom vibe from the banter, but still gives you all the feels with the characters back stories. It’s a perfect mix of emotional and fun... highly recommend to anyone who loves contemporary romance with funny bits and heartfelt bits. Oh plus the naughty ones. Let’s not forget those. 🔥😍😂

“So what’s it going to be, Vada? Think one night with me will be enough for you?”
“I think the real question is…will one night with me be enough for you, Casanova?”

When Brooke Cumberland and Lyra Parish team up, you just know that the story is going to be a WINNER! My Week with the Bad Boy was a true romantic delight! It was adorable, hilarious, and emotional! It did carry some angst, but not enough for a complete book hangover. For me this was a very quick read. I flew through the pages like nobody’s business because I was just enjoying it so much. Plenty of LAUGH OUT LOUD moments, some HOLY SHIT! THAT’S HOT moments, and a few SON OF A BITCH moments! Don’t even get me started on the DIRTY TALK! I mean, the mouth on Ethan Rochester…just WOW! Along with his cocky and arrogant demeanor and gorgeous body and beautiful heart…he was the PERFECT bad boy hero!

Both Vada and Ethan stole my heart with each turn of the page! Vada is so sassy and she’s exactly what I expect from a romance writer. She was absolutely ADORABLE and I instantly wanted to be her friend. The way she stood up to our bad boy…OMG! So freaking awesome! The sarcastic, witty, and flirtatious banter was ON POINT throughout the whole book. All in all, another MUST READ ROMANCE from one of my favorite writing duos!

P.S. If you enjoyed ‘THAT SCENE’ in the 1990 movie, GHOST. Well, you are in for one HELL of a treat with this gem! Enjoy!

This was the perfect weekend read! It was heartfelt and at times emotional, but there was also plenty of steam and laughs. Ethan was hilariously cocky and I loved all the innuendo and banter between him and Vada. He had an incredibly filthy mouth, and his clever one liners and ability to turn even the most mundane thing dirty was impressive! Don't even get me started on his piercing or massive cock.... Henry ;)

description

It was very enemies to lovers at the start and I enjoyed every laugh out loud moment. Yes, there were some heavier moments surrounding our hero and heroine's pasts, but these were balanced pretty well with the snark and witty teasing. The only reason this isn't 5 stars for me is because of the timing/pacing of the story. The direction the story took towards the end just felt a little odd - slow, but also rushed. Things moved at warp speed (which I didn't mind) and then when our characters encountered a speed bump, everything effectively stopped and became derailed for a bit.

description

I will say that if instalove isn't your thing, you may have a hard time hopping on board this train. It was just what I was needing and looking for, but I understand that it's not for everyone. Yes, things progress very quickly, but would you expect anything less from a title like My Week with the Bad Boy? Honestly, if it wasn't for the emotional baggage our main characters were carrying, this would simply be a super lighthearted and funny read. The epilogue was wonderfully sweet and I loved how it planted the seeds for the next book in the interconnected standalone series. I'm looking forward to what's next from this awesome writing duo!

My Week With The Bad Boy is a good choice if you are looking for a book with little agnst, insta love, lots of sex and one that doesn't require you to think too much.

There are a few sad moments in the books but overall it's a lot of sex and not a lot of character building. I never fully connected with either character but especially Vada, I didn't like much about her at all. The back and forth was a little over the top for me, almost like they were trying too hard to be funny or too hard to dirty talk. Pacing was also an issue for me, I like insta love, but this book starting out slow then ends in a rush.

I didn't hate this book but I would be very picky as to I would tell to read it.

Romance writer, Vada is in a writing slump and is hopeful that a change of scenery will give her the inspiration she needs to finish her current novel. Vada rents a country cottage in the South, far away from her city life. And all seems to be idyllic until she meets the man she’s renting from—Ethan Rochester. He’s sexy as sin, but grinds Vada’s gears to no end. And in a place where Vada’s supposed to be relaxed & focused, she now feels distracted beyond belief.

Ethan focuses on one thing & one thing only: his pottery business. He’s an artist with a rough & tragic past. Ethan always keeps a safe distance from relationships & his renters, but now that Vada’s his new tenant, Ethan finds himself breaking all his rules. After years of having shackles on his heart, Vada might be the only person who can break down his walls. The only problem? Vada is going back home in one week, making their possible love story a temporary one…

Make Me Forget by Kennedy Fox is book 1 in the Make Me series, although this can be treated as a complete stand-alone. I loved how heartfelt this story was & I’m a total sucker for a broken hero. And Vada being a romance author was something that kept me connected to her as a heroine. This was steamy & fun but also got me right in the feels. I like how this romance had a small cast of characters, so you truly are focusing on the couple 95% of the time, which I appreciated for a 200-page romance. Also, if you’re a fan of artsy heroes, this is definitely for you! 4/5 stars.

5 Horngry CROWNS

The writing duo of Lyra Parish and Brooke Cumberland have the ticket to my love of insta-love, super sexy romances. They always give me the right amount of fun, romance, steam, and drama, and I always enjoy reading them.

Vada, a successful romance author, is attempting a retreat to breakthrough her writer’s block. Her initial encounter with the cocky and seemingly arrogant bad boy, begins endless encounters of verbal sparring. With each moment, she becomes more attracted to him, who she assumes she can’t be with for varying reasons, the most prominent being the insecurities he brings up for her. Readers, though will enjoy her sassiness and the sparring that eventually leads to some amazing physical scenes.

Ethan is the stereotypical bad boy, and although he plays the part, I didn’t buy into the fact that he is that manwhore bad boy. Yes, he has slept around, but when readers get his back story, they understand his choices. We also aren’t privy to his escapades and very rarely are they brought up, which lessens the his playboy perception. What readers do see about him is how broken he has been and how much progress he makes since his destruction. I found myself enchanted by his charm and arrogance and dirty mouth. I didn’t find it hard to believe that Vada would be attracted to him in any way.

Lovers of insta-lust and insta-love will devour My Week with the Bad Boy. These authors bring everything readers love about this trope: characters with animosity that turns to steam-inducing physical relations, back stories that make the characters more interesting and complex, and enough drama/angst to keep readers entertained. Plus, the ending is absolutely perfect for this pair, and their HEA is everything these two deserve.

I fell in love with these two authors as Kennedy Fox, and I continue to be enamored with their characters and story telling. I always get quick, dirty, and fun with them, and who in their right might can resist that?

4.5 'CASANOVA' STARS!

Filled with sarcasm and witty commentary, My Week with the Bad Boy is insta hot, emotional, and pulls you right in!

Ethan Rochester was the embodiment of a Bad Boy. With his chiseled abs and his wicked smile, its not hard to fall under his spell. But behind the curtain lies a broken man with a tragic story. I instantly loved him.

Vada Collins is a author, a city girl seeking refuge in the beautiful and quiet town of Charleston, South Carolina. Not only does she find a place to write, but she finds an unexpected muse for her current story. Behind her feisty demeanor lies a jaded woman who has been wronged and she doesn't trust easily.

Together these two heal one another. It was attraction at first, which soon became love. Their journey will have you swooning, smiling, and holding on to your seat!

I've popped my cherry with both these authors and call me impressed. They each bring something special to the table that has hooked me. Fun and spontaneous, you'll enjoy this story! Bring on the next book! I cannot wait.

I honestly don’t even know where to start with this one. This book blew my expectations OUT. OF. THE. WATER! Brooke and Lyra have seriously outdone themselves!

Now naturally I had some reservations going in. For instance I stay away from insta love and I honestly thought it was heading in that direction...
BOY WAS I WRONGGGG!

For one this story was MUCH more fast paced than I’m used to (hence the insta love theory). Which was another thing that gave me slight pause. But then all in all, it ended up doing nothing but GIVING ME LIFE!

One thing I love about a great book such as this one is not only were there PLENTY of steamy times, delicate times, and emotional times, but the characters had SUCH a grappling passion for their own crafts. GAH.

This book honestly 100% just had it all. Everything you could want in a romance. Even if you weren’t expecting certain things to happen such as myself, that’s what made it all damn near perfect.

Also, Ethan (plus his cock and pussy) is M.I.N.E!

Looking for a quick, romantic, smutty read? Look no further. Falling for the Bad Boy is the perfect book fro you. Without much drama or angst, the story quickly jumps into the romance and quickly gives the heartache and the antidote for it too so you're not exactly wasting that much time with heartache. Some might the story teensy bit too fast paced but what else could you expect fro such a short novel?

I seriously can't get enough of Lyra Parish and Brooke Cumberland whether they are writing under the name Kennedy Fox or writing as Lyra Parish & Brooke Cumberland I am desperate beyond desperate for their books. And when I finally get them in my hands I squeal with delight because I know that I am going to fall in love with it.

My Week With The Bad Boy is no exception and let me start off by saying I'm in LOVE !!!!!

Ethan Rochester, I have no words other then I want to sit on his face. He's cocky and has a way with words that makes you want to slap the taste out of his mouth but I couldn't stop smirking and smiling and get all giddy everytime he hit me with some snarky comment that usually involved a sexual innuendo. The man is sinfully delicious with a sharp tongue. I am pretty sure I would be pure putty in his hands.

Ethan over powered every one of my senses in this book. Whether he was being cocky or he was being sweet. At one point I thought to myself if I was there I would push Vada out of the way to get to Ethan. Vada didn't fall right away to his cockiness, she didn't giggle and fall all over herself she called his ass out on it and I loved that about her.

There is one scene in particular in this book between Ethan and Vada that had me so aroused that I was ready to douse a bucket of cold water over my head. It's been a long time since I've read a scene that literally made me want to flick the bean while reading a book. But gawd dayummmmm it was hot as fuck.

While this book had me clenching my thighs together multiple times fantasizing about Ethan it also broke my heart and yes I was in tears at one point. That doesn't happen to me very often but Lyra and Brooke managed to punch me in the gut and have me almost curled into a fetal position. It also made me fall even harder for Ethan.

There were so many funny moments in this book between these two but also some real moments where love and loss and pain were revealed and it made my heart want to reach out and hug someone or be hugged myself.

This isn't insta love but it is a book where two people share a short time together and feelings get involved, it's passionate and its heat and you are taken to a place where you feel that in your bones. That connection that can't help but break down walls and having you let go and just enjoy yourself for once in your life.

This first book in this new series has met all my expectations and I absolutely can't wait for the rest of these.

My Week with the Bad Boy was so good! It's a dual POV from Ethan and Vada. Ethan has a past he's trying to deal with meanwhile Vada just needs some time to write her freaking book. Yes, Vada is a writer for the smut people!

I loved Ethan and Vada so much! Vada has such sass and is so freaking independent. Yeah, she has a crappy past with relationship because the guys she dated were basically toads. Vada needed someone good in her life that basically rocked her world. Enter Ethan. He lost his wife and baby all within a matter of days. However, the world starts turning for him once Vada walks up to his door.

Okay, I loved the smut in this book. However, the chemistry between these two was kind of off and on for me. I get that they were flirting and stuff but it's like I couldn't tell if they were going to make it or not.

Overall, the ending made me have happy tears. I loved these two and I'm happy Ethan finally got a family. Loved the book and I can't wait for more!

This was a fun, quick read! At times a little cliche, but who doesn't love that every so often?

My only note is I wish we had more conflict throughout the book. It wad a little too linear for my tastes.

RomCom with A Twist

The book begins with a strong romcom vibe, attraction & repulsion making for some sizzling & fun moments. Then once the layers pull back, and we see behind the facade, we’re in all the feels territory.

An enjoyable read to escape into.

I am just gong to warn you now before you start this amazing book, grab a blanket, a nice hot coffee, maybe some snacks and settle in because once you start this book, you won't be able to put it down.

"'Please, Casanova. Enlighten me,' I say, taking a big gulp of coffee. 'Maybe it was that intense orgasm you gave yourself that helped you write all night.'"

Ethan is everything! He has that bad boy side to him but deep down he has so much more hiding. In fear of letting someone really seeing who he is, he hides. But something about Vada pulls him out of the shell he's been hiding under for the last five years.

He is sexy, bad, funny, sweet and sad at times. He knows what he's doing with his hands, and when I say that, I mean in more ways than one. There will be moments when you are crying, there will be moments when you are laughing so hard!

Vada has a past as well, she has serious trust issues due to past relationships. So when she meets Ethan, she puts him in that Bad Boy category, but they pull each other out of their old habits, pushing each others comfort zones. I love watching them pushing each others limits!

"Ethan's hand is leading me as we walk back into the main room and through the crowd. Women look over their shoulders at us and snicker, probably knowing what we were just doing. I'm sure I look as guilty as he does, but he wears it with no fucks given."

Now, these two ladies are the two ladies who write under the pseudonym Kennedy Fox. This book is totally different from the Checkmate Duet Series. But that holds no meaning to me because no matter what name these two ladies write under, no matter what they write, I will read and always love! These two ladies hold a special place in my heart and no matter what they write, I'll be there, ready and waiting.

As of right now, coming in 2018, there will be two more books coming to this series and I CANNOT WAIT! Ethan and Vada have left me in a book hangover!

5+ STARS! No Doubt!

Disclaimer: I received a complimentary eARC from the author(s) in exchange for an honest review. This is a completely spoiler free review, my detailed spoiler laced review will soon be available via my blog.

E (or Ethan) is a typical bad boy - tattoos, washboard abs, a sexy "panty melting" smile and a cocky says-it-as-he-sees-it attitude. He's everything that relationship-jaded Vada should stay away from, the opposite of what she expected, yet it's obvious from the start that he's exactly what she needs. The sex laced innuendos and humor throughout kept me laughing while the trickles of raw emotion tore my heart in two. Vada and Ethan are so bad, but SO good for each other and as a reader, getting to share and experience their journey through that discovery is total perfection.

Never in my life have I started, and finished an entire novel in a single day. Until today. Since I've started reading Brooke & Lyra's work, I've become an addict. MY WEEK WITH THE BAD BOY is no exception, and let me tell you this - If you're looking for an upcoming modern, HOT read that is going to build you up (you know exactly what I am insinuating here) and tear you down just as quickly, I'm talking full emotional -and sexual- roller coaster ride in every way that is good...you absolutely HAVE to pick this up because I personally PROMISE you won't be able to put it down.

This book gets 5/5 stars from me. I would highly recommend it to fans of their previous work (The Checkmate Duet(s) + individual publications from Brooke & Lyra) and to ANYONE who enjoys a sexy and smart NA read. As per originally advised by Lyra, I suggest having a box of tissues nearby!

Listen to me.... Brooke Cumberland and Lyra Parish are co writer GOALS!! I mean, I knew that having read every single Kennedy Fox book but WHOA! I feel like they stepped up a level with Ethan and Vada's story.

There were things that I was expecting, hilarious banter, sexy time, a well written story.....and of course I got all of those things but also so much more.

Vada has her issues.....I mean, what can you expect from someone who keeps picking one loser after another bundle that with issues from her child hood and you have a beautiful, smart, gorgeous woman but a woman with trust issues.

Ethan. I loved him immediately. He's sooooo funny and kind and respectful but wildly inappropriate (which I love) but God....was he dealt a bad hand in life. Something that would bring anyone to their knees, something that's nearly impossible to come back from. So although on the outside he's everything and more, there's definitely a wall put up around his heart.

Vada and Ethan meet when she rents his cottage to have some quiet time as she works on her next book. Their banter immediately pulled me in and I couldn't turn the pages quick enough. They are so flirty and silly together but they both have on armor. There's secrets between them, lies and deceit. It broke my heart at times reading the friction between them, I just wanted them to communicate!

My Week with the Bad Boy was so much more than I expected and I feel like I read it WAY to quickly, I got lost in Ethan and Vada's story and I want MORE!!!

{ I received this as an ARC in exchange for an Honest Review}

"My Week With The Bad Boy" is so wonderful! I love it so much!! It was so amazing and really freaking great. I am so in love with Vada and Ethan. This story was so funny. I was laughing from the first chapter until the last. It was so sexy!! Vada and Ethan are really fun to read about. They have a connection that they both want to deny but can't. The sexual tension was strong between these two and when it finally combust it is so sexy and so steamy.

"I'm getting dirty in the south with Ethan Rochester."

This book was so great! Ethan and Vada are both strong independent people and when they finally give in to each other its magic. Everything in this book was just perfect. From the build-up to them giving in and to them falling for each other it was amazing. This book really had it all. The build-up, the sexy sexy times, the heartache, and the laugh-out loud moments. I really loved this one! This couple really has to fight for what they want. I love them.

"My Week With The Bad Boy" took me by surprise. It was heart-breaking but so amazing. I really loved reading this book and getting to meet these characters. If you want a cute, sexy, funny, contemporary romance then you should pick this one up!

My....god.....Brooke Cumberland and Lyra Parish have done it again and completely knocked it out of the park. I had ALL THE FEELS when reading this book and I (as with literally all their other books) could not put it down.

When uptight, loner, city-girl Vada decides to get out of town and rent a beautiful cottage in South Carolina to work on her writing, the last thing she expects is Ethan. Rochester.

Ethan is a bad boy with a complicated past who isn't interested in anything more than a one night stand. That is...until he meets the sassy, smart mouthed writer from Chicago.

This story was probably the steamiest one from Brooke and Lyra yet! They still managed to write a beautiful romance with lots of sass and even more emotion. My Week with the Bad Boy takes you on a roller coaster of the best kind and I cannot wait to read the upcoming books in this series.

Blurb:
Never trust a man who answers the door wearing nothing more than a pair of low-cut jeans and a panty-melting smirk.

That should've been my first sign.

I write about guys like him for a living — sexy and charming, yet reluctant to get into a serious relationship. His body screams sex appeal, but his condescending personality makes him a classic f*ckboy.

And I want nothing to do with that.

Writing romance novels comes with its perks — traveling, meeting new people, creating characters from the voices in my head — but Ethan Rochester enters my life and rearranges my preconceived notions about writing what inspires you.

Meeting him was fate, but falling for him was inevitable.
And forgetting him will be impossible.

**This is a complete STANDALONE novel

4.5 Casanova stars!

Funny. Engaging. Sizzling hot. And surprisingly emotional. I've enjoyed and devoured books penned by these two authors as Kennedy Fox , and I must say that My Week With the Bad Boy—regardless of a little distinction in its tone and depth from the Checkmate Duet series—is quite no different at all. You will definitely fall in love with the hero and relate to the heroine of the story in a snap of a finger.

“So what's it going to be, Vada? Think one night with me will be enough for you?”
“I think the real question is...will one night with me be enough for you, Casanova?”

Vada Collins: A romance writer who struck out from her previously failed relationships early on, leaving her with trust issues enough to last her a lifetime and maybe ten centuries over. She's a feisty city girl through and through, with a sassy mouth, but she's trying to find peace and get her flow back—past a writer's block that's been hindering her to finish a particular book she's catching a deadline on. Little did she know, checking into the little sanctuary she found through Airbnb for a week will give her so much more than the inspiration she was originally looking for.

Ethan Rochester: A broken man with a bad boy image and a damaged soul, but a huge... heart and a past so tragically painful that it crippled and left him choosing a life of solitude. This man was so far from who I thought he was. At first, you'd think he's just yet another pretty face with a drop dead gorgeous body, and an ego the size of Jupiter. But it was all just a front. A mask he's been hiding behind. Vada hit the nail on the head when she mentioned how too good to be true Ethan is. He's just perfectly imperfect. And his beauty on the outside truly does match what's on the inside once you look close enough.

To me, Ethan dominated and took this book by storm. He captivated me with every single thing that he is, inside and out. His story broke my heart, but the way he became so enraptured with Vada the moment she knocked on his door, melted me all over. It was certainly insta-lust and insta-love between these two, but it's still a journey that will hook you in right off the bat.

These two authors continue to astound me with every novel they release together. Their voices just blend so well that sometimes you start to forget that the book you're reading was written by two people. My Week With the Bad Boy is the perfect start to yet another series they're collaborating on. You will love the hell out of Ethan and his cock and pussy. Seriously, just brace yourself for the newest not-so-bad-boy in town.

So for those of you that don't know, Brooke & Lyra are the amazing duo behind Kennedy Fox. I absolutely love their Checkmate series and I was really excited for this one. I'm not big on love at first sight or insta-love, but let me tell you, it is now one of my favorite tropes in contemporary romance. I was really excited for this book because the protagonist, Vada, is a romance author who books herself a trip down South to get some much needed inspiration on her latest deadline. I loved that we got a bit of an insider look of what it's like to be a writer. There she rents a cottage from someone named E. Rochester and she did not expect a shirtless, gorgeous, and arrogant man to answer the door. Immediately the hit it off and I loved all the ridiculous sexual jokes Ethan threw at her just to get a rise out of her. For everything Ethan said, Vada was able to keep on pace with him and call him on his crap. They bonded quite immediately and got into a comfortable relationship with one another. Even though they quickly get into bed with one another and they both claim it to be casual, it quickly becomes more than that. Yes, they "fall" for one another over a week, but Brooke & Lyra capture the feeling where you've known a person your whole life really well. Once you learn of their backstories, you just really root for these two broken people to find someone in their life. I don't want to spoil anything but damn, Ethan's backstory had me absolutely bawling my eyes out. Underneath that cocky exterior is an extremely vulnerable guy. There are so many layers to him and he continuously surprised me. I also really loved his relationship with his aunt and those moments totally made me smile and make my heart swell. Just like other books by Brooke & Lyra, the steamy moments are incredibly steamy and swoony, and goodness, the declarations of love just make me cry from happiness. This book has everything I look for in a contemporary romance book: a lovable male lead, a strong female on the same footing as him, and an authentic falling-in-love story with a HEA. Even though I'm biased and love all their previous books as Kennedy Fox, I will say that this is my favorite book by Brooke & Lyra yet and I can't wait to pick up the next in the "My Week" series!
