All she wants for Christmas is peace and quiet.
All he wants for Christmas is… her.

Losing her job and boyfriend weeks before Christmas leaves Talia feeling more bah humbug than filled with festive spirit. The last thing she needs is Christmas with her chaotic family and Rafe Scott, her brother’s grumpy best friend and long-term star of her hottest fantasies.

Her heart’s deepest desire if she’s honest with herself.

But when Rafe comes along with an offer she can’t refuse—use of his family’s cottage in Scotland in exchange for a date to his company’s holiday party—Talia gratefully accepts. A quiet, wintry escape sounds like heaven and a few hours in Rafe’s company couldn’t hurt.

Until it does.

Fleeing to her Scottish Highland retreat, Talia’s longed-for peace doesn’t last long when a bitter storm brings snow and the one man she desperately wants but cannot have. Now snowed in together for the holiday season, will their simmering attraction keep them warm or will they both get burned?

One Week With You is a steamy contemporary holiday novella containing strong language and sexual scenes.

Talia & Rafe
Talia is having a tough day ~ she's lost her job and got dumped by someone she knew wasn't right for her, so she's not too brokenhearted. Rafe is an overworked CEO and doesn't have time to date, but he can't go alone to his Christmas party again this year, so he invites Talia to be his fake date. As a thanks he's offering her his cabin in Scotland to take some time to herself...but it turns out she won't be alone and they'll get snowed in there together.

There are some Christmasy vibes and I loved that they went sledding together, so fun! There's a smidgen of lack of communication since each pined for the other, but never said anything, so that's some time a wasted. But I gotta say, it was a breath of fresh air for brother Leo to not have any issues at all with their relationship, a rarity with this trope.

Overall, a quick read with just the right amount of steamage for a novella. A solid debut.

This is a spicy and cozy Christmas novella that did everything right, but somehow something didn’t work for me..
🎄

Let’s start with the positive. 🤍
I really liked the buildup of the relationship!
We get to meet the main characters, learn a bit about the back stories, how they know each other..
Sometimes novellas can feel a little ‘insta-lust’-ish, this one didn’t feel like that at all!

I also like that the characters are 35 & 40 years old.
He’s her brothers best friend, grumpy and always been secretly into her. She thought he didn’t like her at all, is the sunshine and was always into him as well.
His relationship with her family is wholesome.💕
Lots of good tropes so, so far so good! 🥰

But then.. the payoff wasn’t really there for me?
Don’t get me wrong, there was more then enough steamy scenes! 🌶 It just fell a bit flat for me.
Where the buildup of the relationship was solid, it mostly focussed on the sex now. The FMC reactions were sometimes kind of strange as well. 🤷🏼‍♀️
I can’t really explain it very well, I just wasn’t feeling it towards the end.

I didn’t necessarily dislike this book, so if you’re in doubt, you should definitely try it out. It’s short, sweet and spicy and it might work better for you! 💖

One Week With You is a holiday romance KU novella, with brother’s best friend and forced proximity when they’re snowed in at a Scottish Highlands cottage together! This is also the author’s debut and I loved it.

The story opens with Talia getting fired from her PR job less than a month before Christmas AND her boyfriend dumps her the same day. While she loves her family and is super close with her parents and 3 brothers, she also isn’t looking forward to Christmas with them asking “what’s next” when she has no idea herself still. So she tells her family she’s going to spend Christmas alone this year and kind of just wallow on her own. Her brother’s best friend Rafe ends up offering her his Scottish cottage to stay in for Christmas (they live in London)…he just needs her to pretend to be his girlfriend at a work Christmas party first. 👀

Rafe has been best friends with her brother for years, and has secretly been pining for Talia for years too. He took over as CEO of his family’s business 5 years ago and the other execs are wanting him to schmooze the owner of a hotel his company wants to purchase. They think a “family-friendly Christmas party” is just what they need to throw and tell Rafe they want him to bring a girlfriend too. Talia ends up agreeing to go with him and she’s a little surprised while there that so many of his coworkers think they’ve been together for years… 👀 They share a moment at the party but then she rushes off when she thinks he’s about to push her away. So after a week of her not replying to his texts, he shows up at the cottage and they get snowed in together!

I loved this one! It was so much fun and I loved the chemistry between Talia and Rafe. I liked that we had characters in their mid-to-late 30s (she’s 35, he’s 39). They have this “I need you now” kind of passion and frenzy which was so good! I also loved that there was no drama with her brother finding out they’re together, he even says how crappy would it be if he didn’t think his best friend was a good enough person for his sister. I thought this one was supposed to be grumpy/sunshine but besides him calling her “Sunshine”, he didn’t seem grumpy at all. That didn’t matter too much thought since I was just so impressed with this debut and it’s a Christmas novella I’d definitely recommend! I can’t wait to dive into the next read from this author, as she said Talia’s 3 brothers will get their own stories too!

Just what the doctor ordered. We get the brother's best friend trope, snowed in at a cottage, and we get grump/sunshine! The nickname that the MMC gives the FMC is literally "Sunshine"! Be still my beating heart. I loved that the MCs were older (the FMC Talia is 35 while the MMC Rafe is 39) because I'm so tired of reading books where the MCs are younger than I am 😂 It's wild as hell to read about an MC who's like "I'VE WAITED MY WHOLE LIFE TO FALL IN LOVE" when they're only like....21 years old. Calm down kid. Was also a big fan of the communication in this novella. Yes friends, despite what many romance authors would like you to think, you can communicate like adults and still have ALL the yearning. Anywhoo, this was a sweet, VERY steamy read with all the Christmas vibes. Plus, there's no third act breakup so you can just sit back with the holiday beverage of your choice and actually relax.

Ummmmm what is with men named Rafe that are just so hot?? Is this the perfect Christmas novella??? I think so.

This didn’t feel like a novella and I’m not just talking page count. Their characters were so well established and even though part of their story started off book, you’re caught up in it once it gets going.

The spice was well written; not cringey and overdramatized to pack a punch like most novellas are. There were some creative uses with a red ribbon.

Plus, you’re trapped in a snowstorm in a remote cabin in the Scottish highlands with your brothers best friend, the owner of said cabin - whom you’ve been crushing on for years.

Even the bit of miscommunication didn’t bother me. There was a point where they acknowledged that that’s what their issue was and then boom, future problems solved.

This was cozy, spicy, and gives you all the feels around that time of the year.

Thank you to the author for sending me this ARC via BookSirens; I am voluntarily leaving this review.

Review-
One Week With You is a cozy Christmas novella about Rafe & Talia who have known and liked eachother for years, being snowed in together in a Scottish Cottage.

This is the debut novella of this author. And She has done a great job. It was a really cozy read. I loved how the story was flowing effortlessly. Didn't feel rushed at all. It was my first time reading a story where the FMC & MMC both were in their 30s and I quite enjoyed the fact. It gives a detail information about the FMC & MMC and their families which I really liked reading about. I loved the dynamic between Talia's family. The friendship between Rafe And Leo ( Talia's brother) and Rafes bond with Talia's family was soo wholesome and beautiful.
The steam in this novella OG MY GOD!!! It was so well written & really gives you the feel. Rafe and Talia had an amazing chemistry throughout the book. I loved their characters.
Also the ending was really satisfactory.

It could have been a total 5⭐ but for some reason I don't know I couldn't connect to the writing at first. But from 3rd chapter I really started enjoying it. I definitely would love to read from this author in future.

All in all it was really fun, cozy, Christmassy read which you can read in one sitting. It would be a really good Christmas read so I would definitely recommend it to everyone to read in this Christmas season.

BLOG TOUR REVIEW

Review for 'One Week With You' by JR Jenner.

Read and reviewed for JR Jenner and Rachel's Random Resources Tours.

Publication date 4th November 2022.

This is the first book I have read by this author but it most definitely won't be my last!! It is also the first book in JR's 'London Lovers Special Edition Paperbacks' series and 'London Lovers' series.

This novel consists of 11 chapters and an epilogue. The chapters are short to medium in length so easy to read 'just one more chapter' before bed...OK, I know yeah right, but still just in case!

'One Week With You' discusses some topics that may upset some readers or may not be suitable for others. I like to point this out ahead of time in my reviews so you can judge if this book is for you or not. In this book JR discusses/includes strong language and explicit sexual content, brief discussions about absentee parents and references to a character being childless and wanting a baby.

What an absolute stunner from the extremely talented JR!! Well done JR on an absolutely sexy steamy festive read!! This book will leave you hooked and leaving you wanting more than a hot chocolate by the end 😉!!

This book is extremely well written with beautiful descriptions that completely drew me in. The synopsis and the cover match the storyline perfectly!!

This gorgeous, sexy and romantic storyline itself completely swept me away. It is a novella and less than 200 pages in left so more than easily devoured in a few hours. It tells the story of Talia who is having an absolute day from hell after losing her job and her boyfriend in the space of a few hours. She normally spends Christmas with her family but this year needs some space away. When her brother Leo's best friend Rafe drops himself in it at work after saying he will bring his girlfriend Talia to his work do he makes a deal with Talia that she pretends to be his girlfriend for the night and she can escape to his cottage in Scotland for a peaceful Christmas. However things get hot when the snow falls outside the cabin and I'm not just talking about the roaring fire!!! I absolutely adored the fact that not only is this book sexy and hot but it also has many romantic scenes such as sledding, walks in the snow and so, so much more!!! JR's gorgeous evocative descriptions drops you straight into the Scottish cabin feeling the heat from the fire, steam from the sexy scenes, tasting snow and hot chocolate on your tongue and feel your pulse racing!! I absolutely adored the storyline and getting to know the lives of the characters, seeing their relationships and friendships change and see how they react to secrets, heartache, changes, romance and everything else that goes on in this absolutely fantastic read!! I was absolutely shocked by Leo's reaction to what happens and in a good way!! It's more than refreshing to see a brother that is protective of his sister but also happy for her and her friend too!! The stunning festive and snowy atmosphere with the Scottish cabin/cottage is perfect and will get you in the festive (and more) mood. I am pleased that this is just the first book in a series as I cannot wait to get sucked into the next book in this series which is called 'This Year's Love' which you can read an extract from at the end of this book. It is one of those books that I just could not put down and drive everyone mad by walking around reading it every chance I got and ended up devouring it in one sitting!!

An absolutely sexy, page turning and addictive start to what is guaranteed to be a stunning series!!

It is always worrying when starting a new series as you have no idea who the characters are. It is very important for me to bond with not only the lead protagonists but also any characters that may make repeat appearances during the series too.

I was completely invested in the characters, along with the storyline, who were all, well almost all, absolutely fantastic with their own individual personalities and quirks. Every one of the characters had a part to play and they were all completely unforgettable. I loved getting to know them and as this is a novell I'm not going to go into too much detail about the characters as I've already spoken alot about the book and I don't want to spoil it for others. I really enjoyed watching Talia, her family and Rafe from Talia and Rafe's friendship, Leo and Talia's relationship as brother and sister, Rafe and Leo's friendship and Talia's relationship with her family. I love the fact that not only is Talia close to her family but the fact that they treat Rafe like an adopted son is also adorable as is Leo's attitude to Talia and Rafe. They are all strong characters and I'm looking forward to meeting them all again in the rest of the books in this series and especially getting to know more about Talia's brothers Leo, Oliver and Jacob as well as seeing more of Talia and Rafe!! All of these characters work perfectly together to make this a stunning, sexy and festive page turner and I cannot wait to return to this series to meet them all again!!

Congratulations JR on an absolutely stunning success!!! A stunning sexy novella that will put you in a feisty and festive mood. I cannot wait for the next book in this series!!! This is the exact reason I would love to welcome you to my favourite author club and here is to your next success 🥂 !!!

Make sure you read to the very end of the book to read the first chapter of JR Jenner's 'This Years Love' which is the second book in this series and sounds just as gorgeous as this book was and I cannot wait to get stuck into it myself!!!

Overall a steamy, romantic, sexy festive novella that will heat you up on a cold day!!!

180 pages.

This book is just £2.40 to purchase on kindle, free with kindle unlimited and £9.99 in paperback (at time of review) via Amazon which I think is an absolute bargain for this book!!!

Crushes from afar are becoming a big favorite of mine and I love Talia and Rafe's story.

After losing her job and her boyfriend, Talia is not feeling very festive for the holidays. So when her brother's grumpy best friend Rafe offers to use his family's cottage in Scotland in exchange for a date to his company's holiday party, she accepts with reservations. After all, she's only been attracted to Rafe for several years. But then a winter storm strands Talia and Rafe in a cozy cabin for the holiday season. It's only a matter of time until they give in to the temptation, but what will happen after the holidays?

The chemistry between Rafe and Talis is electric and not over the top. There are also several places where I laughed out loud. Rafe doesn't smile a lot, but Talia cures him of that with her quick wit and her love of everything Christmas. Rafe is very kind and devoted to Talia. Being a regular guest at Talia's house over the years certainly attests to how much her family loves him.

This didn't read like a novella where the plot moves along too quickly. The book is well-written with compelling characters and a fun holiday theme.

One Week With You is a steamy contemporary romance that is sure to get your heart racing. It's the perfect way to get into the holiday spirit.

Thank you to Ms. Jenner for giving me the opportunity to read this book with no expectation of a positive review.

This is it. This is the one. The perfect Christmas novella that’s steamy and sweet but so smart and sexy.

I knew this was 5 stars at 30% and the ending did not let me down. My biggest issue with novellas is the weird language used to describe sex scenes but you will not find any of that here! There’s not a single cringe line or phrase, and the pacing is absolutely perfect.

This had all of the tropes I love but it never played to far into the tropes. It was sexy and steamy but still tasteful. Absolutely perfect for someone looking for a spicy holiday story but doesn’t want weird peens or hallmark cookie cutter 1 dimensional characters. It was a refreshing read with a great premise that could stand on its own. The chemistry between the main characters was tangible.

I will and have been recommending this to everyone!

Thank you @booksirens and @jrjennerauthor for an early copy of One Week With You in exchange for an honest review. 🤍

One Week With You is a short romantic novel about Talia, a woman in her thirties who just lost her job and broke up with her boyfriend a few weeks just before Christmas, and Rafe, Talia's brother's CEO best friend. They have liked each other for years but never admitted their feelings to each other, but what happens when they pretend to be dating, and Talia gets to spend her Christmas with him at Rafe's cottage?

I read this in one sitting and oh boy, for a novella, this has a lot of steam and spice (around 50% of it I would say). I didn't really notice that this was a debut novel, the writing was really good and smooth-flowing and I loved all the characters (except Talia's boss, come on!). I also found Talia so relatable - she's quite an overthinker and I love that Rafe is there to reassure her and care for her.

Rating One Week with You ⭐⭐⭐⭐/5! Releases November 4th, 2022 - another great Christmas read!

This book was so wonderful! This was a cozy and spice Christmas romance novella. This was a short read with about 160 pages. Rafe and Talia are such a cute couple. Rafe was so sweet and kind to Talia. Talia standing up to her old boss at the end is such a powerful and boss move. Talia is a strong and independent female character. This is a great book to read around Christmas time! This book released on November 4 2022. Thank you J.R. Jenner and for an eARC in exchange for an honest review, I enjoyed reading this book!

♡ This book is sooo good!!! First Christmas romance of the year. What a way to begin this period with!! It has so many tropes I love like brother's bestfriend, fake dating, second chance romance, and nails each one of them.

♡ The story is set in UK and gives off cozy vibes. We follow Talia who is fired and dumped by her boyfriend the same day. As she is not in the mood to celebrate Christmas with her family, Rafe, one of her brother's bestfriend, offers to let her stay at his cottage in Scotland in exchange of a fake date during his company holiday party. Ultimately the two characters find themselves stuck together in Scotland due to a snowstorm (forced proximity... you have my heart. And I don't think I'm the only one here).

♡ I loved seeing Talia and Rafe get a second chance, especially during these spicy moment, they're so cute together!!! This novella clearly hyped me to read every upcoming book from this debut author! Her writing is light and fluid thus easily read. I found myself being immersed after a few pages. The author manages to convey emotions through her story and the magic of Christmas is very well described. It's like we were already in December with our loved ones sharing such a wonderful moment. She perfectly manages the characters, their personality and their emotions and gives them a very real side, which makes this book even more perfect.

♡ I would like to thank the author for sending me an ARC of her novella, I loved reading her Christmas romance ♡

Totally wish this was a full length novel. It was so cute. Pretty much liked each other but thought the other didn’t, especially after their drunken kiss 5 years ago. But their rooftop make out/ sexcapades 🔥🔥🔥 She wanted to be alone over Christmas to get a break after losing her job and bf in one day. Rafe was so caring and a little domineering over talia once he realized he needs her in his life. He wanted her to be safe and happy. I like that the brother didn’t give a shit if they got together or not, not his love life. He wasn’t some overbearing brother. Loved that there was able to argue and discuss their issues and worries right there at the cabin together and talk through it. So happy at the end she was able to confront her old boss when she tries to crash her new companies party and Talia was able to put her in her place.

Thoughts: A very cute and cozy Christmas read! I loved the chemistry between Rafe and Talia, but also Talia and her brother’s relationship. There’s a lot more spice than I typically prefer (which is what took me so long to finish it), but it was really well written and didn’t make me cringe like some spicy scenes do.

Exactly the book I needed as the weather starts getting colder over here! A must-read for anyone looking for something cozy and warm for the season. Rafe is handsome, sexy, and successful, and the way he loves Talia is *adorable*. He genuinely just wants her happiness and works hard to please her. Talia finds herself with a bit of a mess in her life but she's strong in the way she faces it. It's so cute the way she crushes on Rafe. The dialogue is fun and flirty, with lots of humor and banter, and the spicy scenes are *hot*. The book is a steamy, sweet, wholesome romance about friendship into love and seizing second chances. A+ highly recommended Christmas read.

What a spicy little treat! I really really enjoyed this debut novella from JR Jenner, though no part of me would have been able to tell this is a debut. It’s just the perfect length for a holiday story - we get a full, developed plot but it doesn’t drag or feel like it’s full of filler.

I genuinely enjoy it from beginning to end! If you’re looking for a spicy holiday story set between London and the Scottish highlands, definitely check this out.

This novella was so amazing!

I want more Rafe and Talia!!!!

a super fun, easy, cute, steamy read for the holiday.. can't go wrong with cuddling up with a tea, blanket, and this cute and festive read.

Some quotes I really liked:

"F**k. Jobless. Now Boyfriend-less. On the same damn day.Life was great until it wasn't"

"As much as I'd fought my attraction over the years, something about Talia spoke to something in me."

"I would've taken her to the moon if she'd asked."

I was able to read an arc of One Week With You JR Jenner's debut novel and it was amazing.

What's worse then getting fired for no reason right before Christmas then getting dumped that same day? Getting snowed in with your brother's best friend at his cabin on Christmas. Or maybe not cause he want's to tie you up and unwrap you as his christmas gift.

This novella was all kinds of naughty and had so much spice. I can't wait to read more noels form JR Jenner.

Thank you to JR Jenner for the ARC! This book is the perfect holiday romance! I love the brother’s best friend trope, so I really enjoyed this novella. It was also a forced proximity romance in a cute, yet massive, winter cottage. I really loved how this was a quick read, not too short but not too long, and still managed to show character development and provide room to explore both Talia and Rafe’s families while focusing on their relationship. Rafe is such a swoonworthy mmc and I enjoyed watching his relationship with Talia grow. Although the book is about Talia and Rafe, one of my favorite scenes was the phone call between Talia and Leo. Also, the nickname “Sunshine” was so sweet! Also, this book was great to get me into the holiday spirit (even though we’re still a while away from Christmas)! This is JR Jenner’s debut novella and I definitely recommend it.

I flew through this story enjoying the family banter, the Christmas vibe and Rafe and Talia’s journey from missed opportunity to HEA. It was heartwarming and spicy, perfect for a Christmas novella.
