I wanted so much to like this cassette player/radio! This was the first cassette player I have purchased in over 20 years. I love the retro inspired design and the price was great. I opened this package up eagerly after work when it arrived and immediately put in a new cassette tape. I pressed play and heard nothing but a buzzing sound. I took the tape out, unplugged the player from the a/c adapter, and put the tape back in, and hit the fast forward button. This time the tape did play... but after a few seconds the player stopped again. I opened the player to remove my tape and I see the player has started to “eat” my new tape! :o Thank goodness I had plenty of pens nearby and was able to spool the tape back to normal. I’ll be returning this player and purchasing a tested brand name instead.

This is a nice little radio and cassette player. Below is a summary of what found.

Pros:
* Quality plastic case. This radio feels sturdier than similar cassette players in this price range. The carrying handle is solid as well, for instance, not hollow in the back.
* Good radio reception on AM and FM. Although the tuner uses an radial style knob to change stations, as with many modern radios, the internal tuner uses a digital receiver for tuning the stations in.
* The styling is very nice. The controls reminds of the radios I used in the late 60s and early 70s.
* Can get pretty loud and while producing a clear sound. I played a tape at full volume and there was not breakup or distortion. Could actually feel the air moving in front of the speaker.
* The tape playback EQ appears to be designed to eliminate tape hiss. I tested a high bias tape that included Dolby B NR and it sounded very good; not harsh at all and with no tape hiss.
* The tape controls feel solid.
* Auto stop is included for playback mode.
* The auxiliary input is nice to have for portable media players.
* At around 30$ this is a good value.

Cons:
* The first two tapes I used did not play clearly and kept jamming. The 3rd tape used worked fine. The tape motor appears to be only strong enough to play a high quality tape that is not prone to snags. When a good quality tape was used, the playback speed was accurate, clear, and steady.
* Auto stop does not work for FF or RW a tape.

I took a point off for the possible performance issues playing some tapes. This seems to be typical of today's inexpensive tape players as well though, so I would still consider buying this unit as the overall quality and styling seems to be good for the money. Only time will tell though how well it will hold up.

We found this sturdily packaged handsome boom box to be made of flimsy plastic. The box it came in was stronger than the item itself. Because the batteries did not fit the item very easily, we used the handy wire that plugs into a wall socket. However, the wire kept falling out of the item. We then put electrical tape all around the wire to keep it from falling off the item. Then we followed directions, inserted a favorite tape, and pressed the "Play" button (it goes down rather than in),, and the tape actually began to go round and round. However, no sound would come out of it! We checked the settings with the instructions and tuned the volume knob all the way up. We did try to welcome this item but we feel its maker has taken advantage of the customer. With a beautifully designed product, why not take the trouble to produce it with quality material, and to be sure that it is sturdy as well as elegant, and -- at the very least -- that it works.

So, I want by family line, after me, to know the truth about the past and what went on. The books and the scribes, government, politicians, and corrupt system will be written based on what they want the future population to know about the past which a lot will be false information.
