When I unpacked it, the first thing I noticed was how responsive it was. I had only ever played on controller or keyboard before, so it genuinely surprised me how quickly moves came out after pressing a button. As for the stick, it took a bit of adjusting to a fight stick's more wrist-based movement, but, after some practice, I'm far more precise with my inputs than I could dream of on controller or keyboard.
I first got it around a year ago, and how has it held up? Very impressively. I play fairly rough with it, slapping the stick and buttons so loud I've gotten some complaints from my family. And yet, it's hardly shown its age. The only sign of wear and tear is that one button stays pushed for a second after my finger releases if I press it too lightly or slowly. I've never encountered this issue in a fighting game though, so it's beyond trivial.
As I said before, it's also very moddable. I've heard great things about Sanwa buttons and levers, and I intend to switch some parts out for Sanwa counterparts. Many how-to YouTubers even use this stick, the Qanba Drone, as a model for videos on how to mod your stick, so there's that bit of extra convenience.
Highly recommended!

Only downside is that some yellow paint scratches off after using it a lot but thats only a mild cosmetic damage.

I used to play fighting games in a video game arcade a lot back in the day and using a fight stick brings back a lot of memories. Few things I noticed about this Drone stick when I tried using it yesterday...
1) The stick doesn't really move in a nice circular motion. there are actual 'corners' you feel when hitting the diagonal areas. So even doing the very basic 'hadoken' move could provide unpredictable results. My son seems to have adapted better executing the moves so it's probably just 'relearning' how I play.
2) This is NOT really a Drone problem but some games require a touchpad tap like Samurai Shodown. The Drone does NOT have a touchpad or any button that could act as a touchpad tap.
3) The buttons are on the louder side. There is a firm resistance upon pressing a button and a very loud CLICK when it does give and connect.
It's a nice size, fairly light and you would need a USB extension cord to sit a decent distance away form the screen.
Gracias Amazon, gracias Qanba :'3
So here's the quirks for fellow modders:
1) It's a piece of cake to swap in a Sanwa JLF, but the way the stick is mounted means you can't use a Seimitsu stick and I'm not entirely sure a Hori Hayabusa would go either
2) On the one I got, the quick disconnects for the buttons were stiff on the stock buttons but extremely loose on the Hori Hayabusa buttons I fitted. If you're happy doing some wire stripping and crimping on the (long and cable-managed!) wires in question, that'll be no problem for you - the more standard Sanwa OBSF-30s may not need this either.
The case is a lovely size - big enough to leave some palm rest if you fit a bat top, small enough it doesn't feel like it's eating lots of sofa or floor space. Replacing the artwork is a bit more awkward - it'd be nice if we had more sticks available at this kind of size and weight. Swapping the ball top out is actively supported, with a cut-out dial giving quick access to the bottom of the stick's shaft so you can hold it in place, unscrew the old top and screw on the new one with nothing needed but a flathead screwdriver.
