Eileen Callahan is the photographer and that’s traveled the world. She recently had a stroke in the right arm is disabled. She returns home to America from London and they are the story begins. Eileen meets Naomi accidentally when she drops her change and they only helps for pick up.
The plot in the story is a good and really has a great depth of meaning. Naomi is looking for love and Eileen is dealing with family issues especially her mother and there’s trying to overcomes all the feelings that she has from her mother and from her stroke. I found this book to be exceptional and a very good read. There is lots of love and drama and the feelings represent it seems very genuine

I liked this book. I only listened to the audiobook. That makes it hard to judge the writing, but it seemed good. I did find it jarring the way each chapter ended abruptly. That made the book not really flow for me. I liked the characters and the plot and tropes. I could feel Eileen's pain and struggles. What exactly happened to Eileen? I especially liked the parts about her recovery. In spite of some of the serious plot aspects, it was a light holiday story. I just wished for more depth overall. The narrator was very good but not exceptional. I will probably read or listen to this book again, but it's not a favorite, although there were some really good bits. I liked the concept of turtles used throughout. I love turtles.

This is a nice heartwarming story written by two of the best. Great writing, great characters and great plot from two exceptional authors. An age-gap story with plenty of drama and most importantly plenty of love and healing. You can count on these two authors to give us their best.

I really love this story and love the two main characters Naomi and Eileen it is a age gap story where age is only a number and you love who you want to love. You can never go wrong reading a book by either Harper Bliss or T. K. Markinson. I hope they write another book together. I recommend this book it’s so easy to read finished it over night.

This read was mediocre at best. Couldn't feel the connection between the two main characters and the storyline was not in depth enough to make it believable and it didn't really go anywhere. Enjoyable characters though. Loose strings at the end left me feeling like maybe I wasted my time reading this book. Can recommend it as a light romantic read.

Eileen Makenna is reluctantly returning to her hometown to get some help from her sister after having a stroke. She's avoided her family and the town for decades, and she's determined to push her recovery so she can leave after Christmas to get back to taking photographs around the world. Eileen doesn't expect to meet a younger woman who captivates her like she hasn't been in years. Naomi Weaver never expected to find a connection with the grouchy photographer who volunteered at the children's cancer ward. Can Eileen get over her fears to allow herself to fall for the lovely Naomi or will her stubbornness have her flee the town once again?

This is a wonderful lesbian age-gap romance with all the fun of a gossipy small town and the holiday season. It took a little while for me to warm up to Eileen as she was so grouchy, abrupt, and rude. Yet as her rough exterior wore away, there was a good heart under there. I thought her dealing with having had a stroke and the tough recovery was realistic. It wasn't at all rushed no matter how much Eileen would have liked that. Naomi is sweet and caring with the patience that she needed to get into Eileen's heart.

Bliss and Markinson do not disappoint! They are both great tale tellers and have spun a great one here. Eileen, a world traveling, Pulitzer winning, newspaper photographer, unexpectedly has a stroke at 49, that results in the limited use of her right arm. After avoiding her home and family for much of 30 years, she decides to come home to recover. At a hospital for a physical therapy appointment, Eileen bumps into a 27 year old altruist social worker, Naomi, who has beautiful eyes and a bright smile. In Naomi, Eileen finds a grounded happy person in contrast to herself, a person who has been running from guilt and certain truths.

The characters are as developed as they need to be to tell the story of two people dealing with age difference, family pressure, work, recovery, and falling in love (in 258 pages). I was rooting for them the whole way.

A fun story by two amazing authors T.B. Markinson and Harper Bliss, holiday style. Its an age gap story of healing. Its not so much about the holiday season as it is about the romance that takes place during that timeframe. There was angst, but remedied well and timely. I look forward to more books by both authors, together or separately.

Nicht nur zur Weihnachtszeit lesbar. Alles drin, was eine schöne Liebesgeschichte haben muss. Schade, dass die Autorinnen nicht verraten, wer welche Kapitel oder Szenen geschrieben hat. Tolle Kombi. Gibt es eine Fortsetzung?

Regardless of the mixed reviews of this book, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Love both of these authors work and thought this could only be good and was not disappointed. I thought the characters gave a very true portrayal of how real people act, life is not all roses and people always being polite and saying the right thing. It was refreshing to have one of the main characters being grumpy and rude and you could really see why she would react as she did. It was also good to have someone with a disability that was not being used as the main theme of the story but as a by-product of what was going on.
