Mine burned up the second time I used it.

Mine burned up the second time I used it.
Bought it I’m 2020, forgot to register it. The second time I used it, it smelled funny and then shut off. Entirely burned up on the inside and no warrantee because it’s not registered. But Milwaukee tools next time I suppose.

Do not buy. You will not be happy with product unless you only need light drilling capabilities.

Great purchase! Not something I use often but really glad I have it when I need it!

It works fine, but overheats under heavy load. I used it to cut a 6 inch diameter hole with a dry core bit through concrete block. It got the job done, but I had to do the drilling in short bursts (a minute or less) and let the drill cool down for about 10 minutes between bursts. Otherwise, it would start smoking and would have probably burned up.

Many comments here are from users complaining of 'burn out' drills. This happens when the users apply inordinate pressure and/or use inferior bits. Boring into concrete/masonry isn't a race and requires patience and light pressure, allowing the hammer action to do the work. Leaning on your drill while boring is gonna burn out any tool.

Purchased this to drill holes in concrete. RIGID represented a quality between professional and homeowner. As a DIY'er, I figured I had a drill "for life". After finishing the original job, it sat unused for almost two years. Did not have a scratch, looks brand new. Today, I needed to hammer-drill twenty !/2" holes into concrete, about 2.5 " deep so i could insert rebar into the "old" concrete to tie into the "new" concrete. I predrilled with a 1/4" drill bit. While drilling with the 1/2" drill bit, the drill burned up. Very disappointed. Took me by surprise. Had to rent a drill to finish this small, DIY'er project. Do not purchase this drill. The quality just isn't there. Repair isn't even an option. It looks brand new sitting in the trash. What a waste.

Just for the record, when you buy refurbished, warranty is not lifetime. When you purchase new, after registering the tool, lifetime warranty is applicable. this Ridgid lasted 6 months and no warranty. So what i'm saying is it's definetly worth purchasing new one over the cheaper price of a refurbished one........Ridgid tools when new are very good...
