Love this monitor. I saw that folks had an issue with the brightness but I didn't encounter that at all. The blacks on this monitor are actually BLACK so it might be a little jarring for people that are used to a washed out screen and confuse that for brightness. I'm buying a second one as we speak to replace my second LG monitor.

Coming from an older Lenovo productivity monitor at 1440p to this has been amazing. I did not expect the clarity in every day tasks to be so obvious, but the 4k resolution is perfection. The pixel density is insane, and though I'd probably consider a 32" mounted to an arm for my next upgrade, this 27" fits on my desk nicely ATM.

No dead pixels, and the IPS bleed was quite good. The OSD is good, and offers most of the settings you'd expect at this level. I'm running it at 120Hz and using Picture Quality in the settings, and it looks great.

Overall, I'm very pleased at what we can obtain from a monitor these days given the low entry price of less than 500 USD.

Don't Waste You Money

Monitor randomly resets itself and goes to black, which is the opposite of what I look for in a monitor. All troubleshooting leads me to believe that it was either designed to do this, or so poorly manufactured that this was the best possible outcome they could arrive at. Additionally, display settings on the monitor itself can only be altered using a direct USB ink between the monitor and your pc, which is awkward and more than a little barbaric, an odd work-around considering it is actually the year of 2024, not 1995. Do yourself a favor and buy a monitor that has a better than 50% chance of turning into a smartly appointed black screen with a refresh rate of zero.

I really wish true 10 bit color was more common.

These monitors use dithering to accomplish 10 bit color, which basically just means they pretend to display colors more precisely by toggling between two less precise colors fast enough that you can't see it. At least that's the theory... you can see the dithering on this monitor. It's less noticeable at 144hz, but i can't help but wish we could just have actual 10 bit color instead of like... 7 bit + 3 bits of faking it. Dithering is my pet peeve so i'm gonna complain about it.

Anyway, everything else about this monitor is great. I have 2 of them, and the whole world of computer use feels a little bit smoother at 144hz compared to 60hz. Lots of input options, can power a laptop and display picture over one usb c cable, no trouble with dead pixels or the two of them looking different or backlight bleed or anything.

**Update-after further usage, I noticed that there was quite a bit of backlight bleed in the upper corners that would distract me during gameplay. Additionally, the HDMI 2.1 was limited to 24 gbps, instead of the full 48 gbps. In a way, false advertising. I returned it.**

I bought the M28U monitor but then I found the Acer Nitro XV28K for $50 less. I ordered it with intentions of returning the M28U. Both have their strengths and weaknesses, but I found the M28U to be better overall and worth $50 more. The Acer’s included stand is better. The M28U’s stand is not great and has limited adjustment. Mine caused the monitor to sit tilted, which really bugged me. I bought a $20 after market stand off Amazon for the M28U to solve this. The Acer had worse light bleed and only 2w speakers. The Gigabyte has 3w speakers and they sound better. I also feel like the M28U has a better OSD menu. Taking off a star due to the poor stand.

I purchased this for my high school son for Christmas. He and his brother (another gamer) love the monitor. It was crazy easy to assemble and very sturdy. You connect the monitor to the stand with a screw that has an attached piece that acts as a built in screwdriver. I loved not needing to find tools of my own to put this together. The graphics are incredible-very clear and crisp. The refresh rate is a lot higher than regular tv screens, which improves the gaming experience.

El monitor llego bien fisicamente asi como el embalaje no presentaba maltratos! la caja sellada como debe ser , al abrir el producto la guia me parecio un poco escueta para poder montarlo sin embargo no fue nada dificil colocarlo , en cuanto a prueba el menu del monitor es muy intuitivo y de facil acceso asi como las conexiones hacia otros dispositivos por medio de puertos, la calidad de la imagen mas el refresco de la imagen son optimos se ve excelente tomando en cuenta la relacion calidad-precio comparado con otros paneles como OLED y en dos consolas de nueva generacion (xbox one series x / play 5) no ha tenido inconvenientes hasta ahorita. sin duda es una buena opcion..
