Paula Bernstein is a New York native, who migrated to California to attend graduate school at Caltech. After several years of post doctoral work in chemistry, she escaped her laboratory, and went to medical school. Like her series heroine, Hannah Kline, Paula spent her professional life practicing Obstetrics and Gynecology in Los Angeles. When she retired from her full time practice, she reinvented herself as a writer of medical mysteries. She is the author of the Hannah Kline Mystery series. Her short story, On Call for Murder, a prequel to her series, was published in the 2017 Sisters in Crime anthology, LAst Resort. She has also published The Queen of Mean inthe 2021 Sisters in Crime Anthology, Avenging Angelinos.
