Not the Made in USA Compressor you've spent years drooling over

Not the Made in USA Compressor you've spent years drooling over
Not the Made in USA Compressor you've spent years drooling over. Very disappointed when I received the compressor to see that everything on the compressor is now made in china except the Baldor electric motor. Literally everything is marked made in China or PRC (peoples republic of china). The compressor pump (first photo) made in China. I could have saved some money with other "higher quality" china compressors if I would have known about the switch to china. Quincy should update their marketing photos etc. and relist it as a new product so no one is misled with old marketing photos and reviews. With all this being said, I got the compressor hooked up, did the 1 hour break in and found a few leaks that only required a few turns with the wrench. The pop off on the cheap pressure switch has a slow leak that seems to be due to bad machining. It still builds air fairly quick and I’m impressed with how quite it is. Can easily hold a conversation next to it. Paint finish seems to be fairly well except for several paint chips on the compressor motor from install. The head and crank bolts were missing paint and most certainly looked as if they have been wrenched on. Quincy’s response to this was “The bolt scratches are a result of our testing procedure that comes from retorquing the bolts after the unit heats up”, ok but the ones I’ve seen in the box stores do not have this. Hopefully it’ll stand the test of time and serve my needs. I don’t mind spending the extra money buying true Made in the USA products but I do not appreciate the bait and switch!
