Coming from a PG348Q I was a little underwhelmed because I didn't initially get that wow factor that I got when 1st gaming on an Ultrawide. But man when I tell you this monitor is god tier level, it's an understatement.1st. After playing Modern Warfare with HDR on and set at the highest of levels with a 2080Ti, there is no way I'm going back from this type of monitor. I played Outer Worlds and the color reproduction is on another level with HDR on, just whoa! Gears 5 was an eye opener, like seriously an eye opener, I've never seen gaming like this with the reproduction values you get with this monitor.2nd. I didn't realize how big a 27inch monitor was compared to a 34 inch Ultrawide, it's a lot closer than most may think.3rd. Performance will depend on your set up, in order to push this bad boy you will need a beastly setup no doubt about it, if you dont have the rig, you might as well return the monitor.4th. Aesthetically speaking, I like the design of the monitor, the bezels are thick but it doesn't bother me. The ROG logo, I actually like a lot, I'm an Asus fan. There is a halo effect/glow around the mouse cursor at certain points of the screen in really dark areas.5th. Buy the damn monitor, at this price it's a no brainers to me.

3.0 out of 5 stars Amazing monitor; issues with Quality Control and misleading marketing; yet amazing monitor however
Reviewed in Canada on November 5, 2019
Product is amazing (more like awe going from a 12+ year old monitor to a 4k hdr monitor.)

This screen is BRIGHT. (which apparently is key to making HDR useful and look good, and it looks amazing)

Couple of notes to point out as of November / 2019 (time of writing the review) for this monitor:

The active cooling fan is no where as 'annoying' as people claim.. I run an air cooled system and a hepa filter in my room I cannot even tell that there is active cooling on this, unless you have a complete silent build (passive cooled) I couldn't see you even telling this is active cooled.

Do note to get 144hz you need to enable overclocking, which might be the fan noise people are complaining about. However unless you are running 4k beyond 120 fps there is no reason to overclock to 144hz.

    - For full 10 bit color depth the max refresh you can run this monitor at is 98hz (or max 98 fps displayed) (not 144hz)

    - 120 hz is the native refresh rate on the monitor, which you run with 8+2 bit color (over display port only of course) this is viable as there's no notable image quality loss to me between 10 bit vs 8+2bit

    - 144 hz 4k is possible, it is considered overclocking the monitor.. however you drop to 8+2bit color AND 4:2:2 chroma subsampling most say they can't notice it, but especially on text to me it's completely garbage, it looks like your using 80-90's style 3d glasses on most text displayed.

TLDR: 98hz for max quality @ 2160 (4k), 120hz for un-noticeable image quality, 144 hz quality is pure garbage. Consider this a 120hz gaming monitor, 98hz if your a color snob like myself.

The other point is finding a modern day video card that can run gsync hdr, possibly ray-tracing and 4k resolution beyond 120 fps. (hint: no card currently exists)
However you are definatley able to make sure the panel isn't easily obsolete anytime soon. definatley future proofing yourself here.

    On to the RMA hell:

My monitor arrived with 7+ bright pixels (how did Q/C miss this???) image should be attached from a cellphone pic of the monitor. Now 7-9 ish pixels is hardly noticeable to the naked eye at 4k most of the time, but when you see it. you cannot unsee it. and at a 2,000cdn + tax monitor this shouldn't be happening.

I'm current in a RMA queue with Asus, they claim they 'have no more stock' of these monitors, are they limited run? discontinued? I have no idea, regardless I'm currently unable to get a replacement unit as Asus claims to have no more of these monitors in stock. (odd)

All said and done despite the minor nightmare of spending 2 grand on a monitor with not even dead but bright pixels is just not acceptable, I don't know if it's a shipping issue, or a Q/C at asus issue, but your premium products should be premium.

    Conclusions:

I would get this monitor again at a discount if given the chance provided I can actually get a working non defective panel.

Will have to wait for the 30 series Nvidia cards or hopefully AMD to pull another trick out of their sleeve in the GPU market to properly drive this thing, but defect aside it looks amazing, and out of the box color accuracy is very very good) IPS glow very minimal aswell.
