Publisher's summary

When her dreams become a reality, will she be able to leave the family she’s come to love?

Jade Smith has always dreamed of teaching abroad. While she waits for her chance, she takes a nannying position at Blackwater Ranch. It’s supposed to be temporary, but she soon learns that this devoted single dad and his boisterous five-year-old won’t be easy to leave when the time comes.

Aaron Harding was wrecked when his ex bailed on him and their son, leaving him to raise Levi alone. He’s in no hurry for either of them to fall in love again. It just isn’t worth the risk. But as he watches the way Jade cares for his son, he starts to wonder if a happy, two-parent family is finally within their reach.

When the opportunity of a lifetime leaves Jade with an impossible decision to make, will she choose to follow the dreams of her past or to make this man and his son her future?

Keeping the Cowboy is the fifth book in the Blackwater Ranch series, but the books can be listened to in any order.

Family love

I loved the unconditional love and acceptance of strangers. Also how the characters seek God's will for their lives.

Great story!

I’m not sure what all the fuss about Lorana Hoopes is. I think she was wonderful and I find her narration to be pleasing to listen to!

The story itself is great! I usually don’t like books that involve ready made families but this was done so well that it didn’t feel like a big disaster waiting to happen like they often do. I absolutely loved that there was no beat around the bush with their relationship. They both said what they felt when they felt it and didn’t play games with each other. It was very refreshing and a comfortable listen!

Cute story, awful narration

I tried to finish it because I wanted to see how it ended but I just couldn't listen any longer. She has a nice voice and did okay with the voices but she spoke in a sing song rhythm that drove me nuts. It never changed so all the feelings and reality were lost.

Expected more

Story line was ok, but predictable. Narration was hard to listen to. It was choppy and breaking at the wrong places.
