I purchased this perfume solely for the look of the bottle. I wanted something that was gold and looked high-end for my wedding details pictures. This bottle was perfect as it wasn't glass, so it was easy to transport, and it could be used a variety of ways for the pictures. Bonus points that the scent is actually nice! I've been using it now after my wedding.

I've had trouble getting Rare Gold from Avon for a couple months, so thought I'd see what I'd get via Amazon. I saw reviews where people say it doesn't smell the same, but I have to disagree. I've been wearing this scent since it first became available (in 1995!), and I honestly think it smells exactly as it should. With that being said, I do feel it doesn't last as long as it used to, but as everyone knows, manufacturers are finding all kinds of ways to cut corners. The scent isn't as intense as it used to be, but it does smell the same. I do a couple extra spritzes on my bare skin before I get dressed, and that seems to do the trick.

I'm just happy to be able to get it at all - if I ever find out Avon decides to discontinue Rare Gold, be assured I'll be creating a stockpile to take me well into old age. 😄
