I ended going with BenQ because the warranty was a bit better and the customer service is much better than LG... if any of you have had to deal with LG customer service then I'm totally sorry. The ergo arm on this monitor was easy to put together and easy to get the monitor working. Absolutely nowhere positively mentions what size cables you'll need for your setup so I will safely say that after putting this thing together that 2M length cables are a minimum requirement. The 1M length ones it came with are not sufficient for length and I have my Mac Studio right under it on my desk. After purchasing a 2M length cable there was just a lot more freedom so I definitely say don't waste your time with 1 or 1.5M length and just start with 2M length cables.
As far as color calibration goes, the Mbook mode stock was pretty close to my new MBP Pro (Newest M3 Pro version) There is a very slight color difference but it really is not something that was too insane. The colors were depicting very close to each other on both the screen and my MBP. I design packaging and the colors that printed were very close to the screen so I'm pretty happy. I am sure that at some point I will have to get a color calibration tool but hopefully that is further down the line than anytime soon.
The LG 32" 4K Ergo, does have a very similar arm on it, though I think that the Ben Q version feels less cheap and more solid. The screen profile on the Ben Q is much larger than the LG counterpart BUT the BenQ has the power supply built in so you don't have the giant power brick that the LG comes with... yes it's gigantic. Having the power supply built in really really works with cable management under desk on a tray because you don't have to worry about a giant power brick.
I have this paired with a Screenbar Halo Plus and it fits very well. I highly suggest a desk lamp if you don't have one. I didn't think that it was going to come in handy but in the end it's very very very handy and has the two color temps to work with which is nice for day to night use.
The Hotkey Puck comes in clutch... no need to worry about pressing any buttons except for the power button which is easily accessible on the bottom right corner on the back.
Using this on my Mac it does go to sleep and will wake as soon as I hit the mouse or trackpad. So there's really no need to actually shut the monitor off.
All in all I'm very happy with the purchase I just hope that it doesn't take a crap in less than a couple of years because it is quite pricey to replace.
For less than half the price of the Apple Studio display, plus the 32" screen with great resolution and vivid colors for photo editing and video editing for the hobbiest, I highly recommend if you can live without some of Apple's eco system perfection.
I hated to give up the Viewsonic, but in using this BenQ, the overlap problem is now solved. Plus, the color accuracy and picture quality of the4K screen is terrific. The BenQ is a superb bang for the buck monitor and I am extremely pleased with it!
Some random comments:
> Setup was simple once I figured out that I needed to use the buttons on the back of the bottom right side of the display to choose my connection type (Display Port).
> I am using it with my Windows 11 desktop and that has Intel i5-12600 processor (handles up to a 60 HZ refresh rate). There is no video card in my build and the performance has been flawless for editing photos in Adobe Lightroom.
> The hockey puck takes a few minutes to figure out and works well. It isn't something I thought I would need, but I am surprised about how much I am using it and how convenient it is.
> Matte, non-reflective screen is great (and I am sitting beside a window in my office).
> The display is more than bright enough.
> The Ergo adjustments are smooth and easy to do.
> Have not/will not use the speakers since I have a really nice stereo bookshelf speaker audio setup.
> By itself, the price seems a bit high. However, when comparing to other 4K displays of this size, it is a good value. Especially with the Ergo capacity, hockey puck and broad range of adjustments available. I don't hesitate in highly recommending this monitor, but mention again that I don't do gaming.
Top reviews from other countries
I have used it a bit for games, and have been very impressed, but I don't seriously game so I can't speak to any framerate or refresh limitations.
A very solid monitor for a decent price. Very premium feeling.

Moving forward, Dell's are great, but the colour rendition of Benq is even better "in my experience/opinion". If you are looking for colour accuracy monitors for professional work, look no further. I was a bit hesitant on ordering this model PD2705Q as I thought going from 43" to 27" with the same resolution will take some time to adjust... Well, I have adjusted right away. It's a perfect transition from 43 to 27 "2560x1440"
I have used Benq's 32 inch PD3200U "no USB-C" and found the letters and OS interface was too small, causing eye strain. I have tried to use 2560 x 1440 on the 4k but the results were not satisfactory as the 4k monitor seems to be optimized for 4k resolution for Benq's. If you want a 32" monitor and need 4k resolution and do not need USB-C then the PD3200U is a great choice.
I was searching for a USB-C 32inch 2k but could not find it on Amazon. Only 4k 32" USB-C is available...
The price for a 4k 32inch with USB-C is ... $2,599.99. So I decided to try out the 2k USB-C PD2705Q for $469.98
The PD2705Q is PERFECT.
Price, Size, Weight and Excellent colour rendition.
It took me 2mins to match this screen with my Mac Air M1 screen, both in colour and brightness.
Setting:
Benq = M-book + Brightness at 65
Mac Air M1 = 1 step down from full brightness "near-perfect match in brightness and colour"
I hope this info makes sense to you and will help you in choosing a monitor for your work and MAC AIR M1 monitor search.
I LOVE THIS MONITOR, and I am certain you will too.
Don't buy the higher-priced items, get this one. Just buy it!
Oh, by the way, The USB-C cable that comes with Mac Air M1 does not work with this monitor for some odd reason?
No worries, the monitor comes equipped with a USB-C cable that is black and works perfectly!

No worries, the monitor comes equipped with a USB-C cable that is black and works perfectly!
- the display itself is beautiful and sturdy.
- there are lots of connectivity options which came in handy
- the colours are accurate enough for me to work with designing UI
Cons:
- The colours are not as vibrant as my 5K iMac and the brightness is dull compared to my iMac as well.
- Sometimes the screen will flicker off and on and will stop only if I turn it off for a day. This is rare but I almost returned it. Luckily it has only happened twice.
I was hoping for more for the money I spent on it.
