The Lenox Tools 20985HSF12 PVC/ABS Plastic Pipe Hand Saw with 12-Inch Blade features a large, angled handle for easy saw control and enough space to work with gloves. The PVC Saw breezes through material with it's unique pull cutting teeth. This saw can be used for cutting a variety of plastics and wood. I had one of these for over 25 years at my wholesale nursery. Used if for cutting sched 40 pvc. I cut a million times with the old one, changed the blade just once. When I shut down the nursery I accidently forgot to keep the old one out of the tool auction. So I bought a new one for myself. Cuts on the pull stroke like a hacksaw.

If you need to cut PVC, especially PVC too large to be cut by PVC cutters, or with inadequate clearance to be able to use cutters, buy these. Thank me later.

This saw cuts about 10x faster than a hacksaw. It leaves a little bit of burrs. I just took the edge of a utility knife, made a quick pass arouns the inside and outside of the pipe, and all burrs gone. The handle is comfortable to grip and the tool is ergonomically designed.

This saw made the tough job of replacing an irrigation system 6 zone indexing valve much easier. Highly recommended.

Faster then a hacksaw, Rougher than a hacksaw

I use this mostly for cutting PVC pipe ranging from 3/4 to 1.5 inches. Before I used to use a hack saw which made cleaner cuts compared to this but it binded (?) more frequently when cutting larger pipes it also took longer to cut. With this one you leave a rougher edge but you do cut very fast ( I can cut an 1.5 in pipe in approximately 5 strokes). I personally don't mind the rough edges since it doesn't affect neither the quality or the appearance of the joint. Another benefit in comparison with a hack saw is that this is much faster when taking it out of my bag since it doesn't have a hole that catches with other tools in my bag.

How there are so many positive reviews on this saw is hard to believe, as it is the worst saw I have ever used. It slips and slides no matter how careful you are. It is coated with a white ultra-slippery coating that renders it an instrument of destruction. I have used hacksaws, handsaws, on PVC pipe and never had a problem.

I could not cut 1-1/2" sink PVC pipe without the saw wandering off the very careful cut I started with, only to totally ruin the pipe with the result that the cut moved off of the perpendicular cut I started, which is what you need to get an even cut. Worthless garbage.
