KNIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS is a standalone read with a happy ending. There are sexy scenes if that is an issue for you. This is a hockey story. It is in Canada around the Vancouver area. I'm sure hockey is a way of life in Canada. I wouldn't know for sure but the story sure points to that fact. It is a great story and I really enjoyed it. Being from Florida snow is not a word I know a lot about. But some parts of the story will have you putting on an extra blanket. Great read and I definitely recommend it.

Remington/Remy is a retired hockey player. He was at the peak of his career when he had a heart attack while on the ice. It ended his career playing the game he loved. He didn't give up and turned all his energy into opening a sporting goods store. It took off and today he is a multi-millionaire. He has recently purchased a professional hockey team to play in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. yea!! His father recently passed and left an ice rink in Canada to him and his 2 brothers. He is on his way to see what there is to see, get it up to speed and then sell it.

Noelle, 27, single and a college graduate lives in the small town of Garland Grove. She runs the rink with a maintenance man. It is a small operation and a rather weird one. It does have a history of having those that skate together marrying and living happy ever after. Not everyone believes it is magic. Noelle is at a desperate place. Due to several events that she had no control over she has lost everything except what is in her car. She sleeps in the arena or in the car depending on the weather. Not everyone knows how desperate she is. She is working hard and just needs a few months to get back on her feet. And then she discovers the owner of the rink has passed and left her rink to his 3 sons. She is afraid he will sell, and she will be out of a job again!!

But then they meet, and things start to look up. The playboy hockey star is more than she thought possible. This is a great love story. I really enjoyed it and I definitely recommend it for a great read.

This is a wonderful Christmas time love story. It is well written with only a couple of grammar issues dealing with pronouns. The characters Remy and Noelle are likable and fun. I found myself really rooting for them, and I loved the magic of the rink. I must be honest in that I almost did not read beyond the first few pages so I am giving an alert for readers who may have the same issue. There is one word in the English language that I do not ever want to hear and that is the F-word, unless there is dire need for it and then just once.. It actually makes me angry. However, I am glad I read the story because it really was adorable. I love when good comes to those in need, and I love a good happily ever after story. I am not sure I will read more due to the word issue, but that is me.

This was sweet and cute. I was really into the premise of a retired hockey player who inherited an ice arena that's known for magical love matches. And it lives up to the super sweet, Hallmark movie vibe. Where it falls short is the actual execution. The prose are very shallow, mostly telling with very little showing which makes it difficult to connect with the characters.

The epilogue I'm guessing ties in with the other books in the series, but I didn't read any of them, so I was a bit lost until the info dump of who's who. There are a few mildly spicy scenes, but most fade to black, and the ones that are fully on the page lack any real heat.

If you need a really cute, surface level, quick read, with very little depth, and almost no angst, this is the perfect cozy read.

There are some interesting themes around the struggles of life, including the shame and embarrassment that people can feel in difficult situations.
