Ideal for a small video cameras and mirrorless rigs with accessories, the S6 PRO video head supports up to 13.2 lb./6kg. Equipped with a 65mm flat base with a 3/8"-16 thread, the S6 PRO is a versatile creative tool allowing you to mount the head separately on sliders, jibs, or monopods. Other features include: pan & tilt lock, continuous pan & tilt drag, 6-step counterbalance (0-5), illuminated bubble level and two 1/4"-20 accessory mounts for attaching monitor arms or audio recorders directly to the head. This allows you to attach accessories without needing a cage or rig to do so. Tilt range for the S6 PRO is +90o/-75o. The forward 90 degree tilt helps with table top setups. The S6 PRO also features metal ratchet style knobs and an improved CNC machined aluminum sliding camera plate.

The quality of the piece is excellent overall.
The tilt drag is pretty good. More of an exponential adjustment, but easy to get where you want.
The pan drag I'm not really fond of, but for this price range is good enough. Since I'm not really shooting video it doesn't affect me very much though.

To use the counter balance steps (5) effectively you need to do the following:
1. Make sure everything you need is mounted to the camera and/or camera cage
2. Position camera on plate and note index, estimate where you think CG will be
3. Set Counter Balance index to 0
4. Set Fluid Drag control to least resistance
5. Slide camera (on plate)
6. Place angle measure tool on camera and adjust position until 0 degree reading (see images)
7. Lock in place
8. Adjust pan and tilt resistance as desired
9. unlock
10. should stay level and not drop forward or backward, if it does, adjust counter balance dial until it doesn't, if you too far out of range from counter balance, they repeat step 6
The light for the level circle seems a bit of a gimmick but maybe some shoots need the camera perfectly level?
Since this can be a tedious, suggest taking not of attached equipment, camera position on plate, and plate position on head (mark as needed). Of course there are more expensive options ... much more expensive options, but for the $240 I paid, it's good enough for my current needs.

From what I could find, it would seem that I would have needed to spend about twice as much for another brand that had the same features (and probably not the play in the increase/decrease of the pan drag), but for my needs of a stable pan drag, this head has everything I hoped for. It works well and I'm very pleased with it.

Things I like, build quality, value for money, fluid drag control which works well, the fact you can switch the panning handle from left to right.
Dislike, the Posi-step counterbalance which I find doesn't work very well. The head is still usable, but with a big lens it doesn't do what it says on the can. If the quick release plate was longer,it would improve matters .Pity it doesn't use Arca/Swiss plate system, longer plates are readily available.
All things considered,I think it will help panning my big lens @ motor racing & wildlife.
