About the author
Candace Cabrera Moore is an entrepreneur and the creator of YogaByCandace.com, one of the top yoga blogs. She is a certified yoga instructor and a certifiably crazy dog lady. She runs a popular YouTube channel (YouTube.com/yogabycandace) and has a yoga app (YogaByCandace Official App, itunes.apple.com/us/app/yogabycandace-official-app/id1019379957?mt=8). She also founded YBC Mantra Box, a subscription service for high-quality healthy-living products from small businesses. She is happiest when lifting weights, singing in the car, and practicing yoga without the confines of a mat. She lives her life by the Namaslay philosophy and encourages everyone to do the same—leading with love, kindness, gratitude, and an unwavering belief in one’s intrinsic capabilities; being gentle, determined, and strong; doing no harm; and taking no shit.

Candace's book starts out just the way I thought it would- first a smile, then a punch in the gut with a hard truth, then a quick laugh before turning the page. Her tutorials are well thought out and easy to follow for beginners and advanced practitioners alike (just an FYI, I consider myself intermediate-light), the photography is gorgeous, and the interspersion of her own story throughout the guide is perfect. She talks in one section about her struggle with crow pose and it hits you that she too had to start somewhere, that she knows exactly what it means to be a beginner and what it means to grow in your practice. I flipped through the 30-day programs too, delighted to see that they will be easy to follow and if I need to reference any of the poses, she's included the page number the breakdown is on.
If you're a beginner interested in getting into yoga, get this book.
If you're at an intermediate stage in your practice and need a little push to really rock your practice, get this book.
If you're an advanced practitioner with a home practice and a love of boss babes doing their thing, get this book.
I pre-ordered Namaslay as soon as I could. I flipped through and admired the gorgeous photographs and took some pointers from Candace's awesome how-to pose guides, but it wasn't until this past week that I (finally) had the opportunity to start reading. I was delighted to see that Candace's endearing, fun personality that I've come to love from her blog showed through in the book too. Her story about her personal struggles with health (physical and mental) is brave and touching. I am confident that it will help other people who are experiencing similar pain.
Namaslay offers advice to all people; the Namaslay "commandments" create a philosophy that everyone can, and should, try to practice. This is more than just a yoga reference book (although it is a great for that too!) There is information about mediation, how to use props, how to safely enter poses and what not to do in those poses, short yoga sequences and 30 day programs. I 100% recommend this book to anyone who is interested in the yoga practice.

Een absolute aanrader voor "echte" mensen die yoga willen gaan doen, maar ook voor mensen die al yoga beoefenen.
I am by no means anything other than a little bit passed beginner, and a 46 year old who has dipped in and out of books and classes that never really hit the spot, or made me feel anything other than imperfect.
I have been enduring breast cancer, operations, chemo and now half way through radiotherapy, yoga by Candace on YouTube has allowed me to find ways even whilst sat in bed with no energy to find stretches and mental we'll being, this book is my bible and best friend whereby I can lose an hour when I'm down with anxiety and general cancer thoughts, her beginners sequences 1-5 leave me feeling better and grateful for the life I do have.
Probably sounds way too deep but this book is amazing at making yoga accessible for any of us that are insecure about our bodies and not overly flexible, Candace is their holding our hands telling us whatever pose you do what you achieve is enough don't beat yourself up.
For me right now that's so what I need to hear.
