In the Blood: A Breathtaking Thriller Kindle Edition

4.2 4.2 out of 5 stars 432 ratings

One woman’s heroism gives her unwanted attention and snares her in a web of deadly revelations from the past in this breathtaking crime thriller.

Grace Dobbs, a champion at her local gun club, lives a quiet life in Western Australia with her mother.

But when a violent killing spree in the neighbourhood sees Grace come to the rescue, she is catapulted into the limelight as a local heroine.

However, her fame spreads much further than the local town, bringing her to the attention of someone in Britain who is very keen to meet her.

But what does this person want? And can they be trusted?

As Grace travels to England to discover her true heritage, she is about to learn the real meaning of danger.

In the Blood is an enormously enjoyable read. Entertaining, unflinching and seeped in dark intent, the novel leaves this reader lamenting that the late Ms. Welsh won’t gift her readers another work.” —Mark Wilson, bestselling author of the dEaDINBURGH series

This book is a real page turner. It's 300 pages but actual a fairly fast read. Yes there is quit a bit of violence but it is presented in such a manner that it's realistic not for the sensational effect. It also raises the question how far will we go when our survival instinct kicks in. Grown up and never known anything else but the small town in Australia she adapted remarkable fast to her new surroundings and total foreign situations on her arrival in England. She makes mistakes but also in general keeps het wits about her. The author managed a very satisfactory ending.

Ms Welsh really amps up the excitement from first page to last. Just when it seems her character can't be in any more dire straits, she is. I truly enjoy her fast-paced style of writing and look forward to more great reads.

What an intriguing merry-go-round of a crime thriller. Really kept me jumping around as I followed our intrepid heroine and a whole world of crime unbeknownst to her. Right on characterization, settings and plot. I will be following this author.

Good book...it kept my interest most if the time. Some spots were a bit slow, but overall it was good.

The story line was engaging, but the number of murders and the brutality was a little over the top for my taste.

Too bad its the last of the Leslie Welsh novels. She has a unique insight into gangland lifestyles. As usual, its deep in defective characters.
