About this ebook

It's a soul-sucking job, but someone had to do it.

Conman Ignatz Bauer considers himself an enterprising businessman and scrupulously avoids anything that resembles a common job. The very idea of working for someone else sends shivers up his spine. But when circumstances compel him to accept a commission to deliver an enigmatic package to an even more mysterious recipient, Ignatz discovers the true meaning of fear.

With the ship in desperate need of repair and falling apart around his ears, his AI having an identity crisis, and his bodyguard seriously considering a career change, Ignatz has four days to make a two-week journey across the galaxy if he wants to keep his own skin intact. Complicating matters, the item he is supposed to deliver turns out to be an ancient disembodied entity that may well hold the key to the fate of all life in the galaxy.

With death dogging his steps and little to no chance of successfully completing his task, Ignatz once again does what he always does and trusts that Lady Luck will bail him out one last time.

Camilla is falling apart and needs repairs. However, they have no money, so Ignatz trys his luck at a casino where he has previously been caught cheating and gets caught again, so has to go on a mission to deliver contraband/a ship to a gangster. then things start to get weird! A mixture of intrigue, suspense, disbelief, AI, sentient stones called Carl, psychoanalysing by Ralph (or Ray?)soulsearching and soulswapping by several characters, amusing names, and unusual situations. Humorous and fun

Ignatz Bauer is back and so is the fun and hilarious situations. I laughed through most of the book as it was a fun read. Had to see how Ignatz Bauer would get out of the trouble he finds himself in this time around. Cannot go wrong with a crazy character and AI. Loved it.

About the author

D.M.(Doug) Pruden worked for 35 years in the petroleum industry as a geophysicist. For most of his life he has been plagued with stories banging around inside his head that demanded to be let out into the world. He currently spends his time as an empty nester in Calgary, Alberta, Canada with his long-suffering wife of many years, and a far too energetic cavapoo puppy named Lucy. When he isn’t writing science fiction stories, he likes to spend his time playing with his grandchildren and working on improving his golf handicap.
