Down and Dirty

The Hot Jocks series is quickly becoming one of my favourites. Sexy, sweet and fun hockey players all finding their soulmates in the best possible ways. Book 5 follows 24 year old rookie Landon Covington as he plays husband to 30 year old Aubree Derrick following a drunken Vegas wedding. Wonderful writing, a sweet story, I just loved how Landon fought for a relationship with Aubrey, not willing to easily give up on the possibility of love. Must say though, Aubrey did blow hot and cold quite a bit of the time, and I wanted to yell at her to give this thing between them a chance. Landon was so so sweet, I think I fell in love with him before the ink dried on the introductions. The take on the virgin bride was a wonderful addition to the plot. Opposites really do attract. I received an advanced copy of this book. This is my honest review.

4.5⭐ Down and Dirty was a cracking read, and one that grabbed me early on, especially after Landon and Aubree wake to realise they have become a cliché and drunkenly married in Vegas, and I loved how Ms Ryan took that cliché and put a whole new spin on it, then added in the fact that Aubree is older and Landon a virgin. But those two details were never belaboured and the story just naturally flowed, as Aubree and Landon dealt with their drunken moment in Vegas, and boy did I enjoy how they dealt with it, especially Landon who is 100 percent determined to stay married and to start dating his wife. Furthermore, Landon was such a down to earth, delightful guy and Aubree with her sass counterbalanced him perfectly and honestly, when they finally came together their chemistry was through the roof and so much fun to read. And as somebody who has admittedly dipped in and out of the Hot Jocks Series, I never once felt like I was missing out or out of step with the numerous characters featured. So if this is your first introduction or your fifth, don't miss out on what is an utterly charming, sweet and, absorbing romance. **I was kindly provided with an ARC via Booksprout in exchange for an honest review**

5 Star Review Down and Dirty (Hot Jocks #5) by Kendall Ryan Down and Dirty is book five in Kendall Ryan’s latest Hot Jocks series and is Landon Covington and Aubree Derrick’s story and what a story it was. This book is not your typical romance story and that was what intrigued me. I admit I am not a fan of age gap romance (although seven years is not too bad), in fact I can count on one hand the number I have read and enjoyed over the years, but this one was a great read. It was also a pleasant change that Landon is 7 years younger than Aubree, not something you see that often. This is a friends to lovers story, with a side of hockey, an accidental marriage and a virgin, that was a fun and entertaining book to read. Despite their difference in ages, it is the Landon who wants to stay married and does not want a divorce. The chemistry between them is intense and I loved the build up of tension. It also doesn't hurt that there were quite a few laugh out loud moments that got me some funny looks from those around me. I loved Landon, he is so swoon worthy and Aubree is a strong, confident, feisty woman who I would be happy to call a friend. This is a steamy, heart warming book left me with a smile on my face and is perhaps my favourite in the series to date.
