A-RGB for Full Colour ControlThe 12 A-RGB LEDs installed in the BioniX P120 A-RGB are autonomously controllable. The BioniX P120 A-RGB is compatible with the common A-RGB standards of leading motherboard manufacturers for the simplest possible use. It can therefore be fully illuminated directly via the A-RGB motherboard connection or via an external controller and synchronized with other hardware lighting. |
Easy installation and extension via Connector TechnologyThe ARCTIC BioniX P120 A-RGB have two connections: a power-in and a connector output. ARCTIC uses an 8-pin connector for this, which forwards both the fan and lighting signals and considerably simplifies the cabling *. The included connector block also enables a wireless series connection. *all necessary cables are included |
High-quality plain bearingThanks to an alloy/lubricant combination developed in Germany, friction within the bearing is reduced, increasing efficiency. In this way, less heat is generated, there is less bearing noise and the service life of the fan is extended. |
Optimised for static pressureDuring the development of the new BioniX P120 A-RGB, special emphasis was placed on a focused airstream and thus a high static pressure. The fan ensures extremely efficient cooling, even with increased air resistance. Therefore, the BioniX P120 A-RGB is particularly suitable for use on covered case vents or inlets with filters. |

Let me be loud and clear: this is not the same product as the non-ARGB Arctic BioniX P120. In order to make room for the ARGB halo in the frame, they had to shrink the fan itself... and in order compensate for the cooling lost, they installed a more powerful motor and had it spin faster. It's basically smaller and louder, or In other words, a worse fan. Despite all of that, however, I still could have tolerated the product given the aesthetic, if not for one absolute deal breaker.
The RESONANCE. Oh god, that sound will haunt my nightmares. If you've ever had Arctic fans or read up about them, you'll likely read about the resonance. Basically, most of Arctic's fans have a specific RPM where they start making a resonating humming noise - and it sounds exactly like the calls a whale makes underwater. Typically, Arctic fans are notorious for resonating at a specific speed - around 1000 RPM. As long as you tune that particular speed out in fan settings, you don't have to worry about it. However...
The ARGB version of the BioniX P120 does not have one specific resonating RPM. This thing resonates ALL OVER THE PLACE. Pretty much at every couple hundred RPMs, it resonates. It's impossible to find a RPM level with 0 resonance; the best you can do is find a low point between two resonance points. And god forbid the fans need to ramp up and run through all of the resonating frequencies one by one... It's whale central, baby. Or an army of Wookies having an orgy.
At first, I thought my set was defective. There's no way a well known product from such a popular company like Arctic (I love their P12s and their AIOs) could be this bad with no one's ever saying anything about it online. I tested each fan individually, hoping to find the broken fan. All 3 of them did it. Maybe I had a bad batch. I requested an exchange from Amazon, which ultimately gave me a sample size of 6 fans (2 sets of 3) that I tested individually. EVERY SINGLE ONE was like this. It's just a horribly flawed design.
I'm guessing Amazon lumps the reviews for all of the versions of the product available on this page, so the regular BioniX P120 must be pretty decent to have so many good reviews... but make no mistake: the ARGB version is no bueno. Maybe some people like their PCs sounding like sci-fi warp engines when they power up, but if that's not you, look elsewhere. I'm personally going to be sending these back and picking up a set of P12 ARGB's instead, which are fantastic.
However, upon installing them none of the fans spun up, one of them had no RGB, and to make matters worse, the entire pump and fan control unit died and now I'm out of pocket for a brand new AIO cooler. Thanks Arctic!
Helps keeps wiring management simple.
Not a fan when it's spinning in the mid- low rpm, makes a mild vibrating type of sound

Now for the bad:
The instructions need to be improved. In the instructions, it looks like you are supposed to plug the controller into a 3 pin RGB header, it actually needs to go to an 4 pin header.
These are pressure optimised fans which are typically intended to be mounted on radiators. These fans are 30mm thick which is not standard. Radiator mounting screws are not included. You will either need to get some 6-32 1.5" screws and cut them down to the proper length or buy these screws which aren't cheap due to shipping

All of the propriatary modular cables are fairly short and make it difficult to get them all connected to the RGB controller.
If you want the RGB animations to match up the fans need to be in the same orientation. If they are close together like the fans at the bottom of the Lian Li Lancool II Mesh, you cannot use the pin connector because they are a bit too far apart but they are too close together to use the cables. Rotating one of the fans helps but then the RGB animations don't display in the same orientation. This location also made it impossible to connect all 3 fans to the RGB controller since each fan would need to connect separately and the RGB controller only has two connection points. They expect at least two of the fans be be connected with the pin connector or the cable connector.
I did find a way to mount all 3 fans in a way that I was able to daisy chain them all together with a combination of the pins and cables and connect to the RGB controller.
Top reviews from other countries
1. They're really quiet, and didn't compromise the low volume nature of the existing, Noctua-focused build.
2. Great for cable management, because the fans directly plug into each other via a 2-way adapter. Only one cable needs to come from the whole daisy chain, and it can either go into the MOBO or the controller. If you've ever struggled to cable manage RGB fans, this could significantly reduce those headaches.
3. Lighting is great, and actually worked with Aura Sync. Personally, I love the way the ring-lighting looks.
4. Build quality feels super solid, and you can really feel the air coming out of them.
It's nice to have finally found case fans that are effective, high quality, RGB, and don't require installation of 3rd party software. These fans checked all the boxes.

Das einzige was mich stört ist das die sehr wackelig sind, wenn man die zusammensteckt.
