I bought 5 precision screw driver sets that topped the Amazon search. They all were poor quality and badly designed. All were returned and I almost gave up my search for a set.

This iFixIt set was recommended by a co-worker and I’m so glad I didn’t settle on keeping one of those other sets because this set is absolutely amazing. The quality of parts are fantastic and it has everything I needed. I love how easy it is to remove bits and I can’t believe how much of a game changer it is to have magnetic tips. I was able to open my laptop, upgrade the ram and swap the HDD for an SSD in less than 15 minutes. Previously it took much longer because I had been using poor quality bits from home depot and not having a magnetic tip made it frustrating to remove screws from the long screw holes.

The company iFixit has step-by-step DIY instructions on its website, and it actively supports right-to-repair legislation. Their tools are carefully vetted by them to be to spec, as well as tough enough to do the job. They offer good value, so don't cheap out and take a risk with your devices by going with an unknown.

p.s. Amusingly, Amazon asks me to rate the "suction power" and "adhesion" of this toolkit. So dear Amazon AI: this is a toolkit that has nothing to do with either, but I'm sure that if it did, iFixit would excel in both areas!

Pros: Company is fantastic: transparent, ethical, and fights for the betterment of the industry. Toolkit is made of durable tools (except for those that need to be flexible to make sure your device doesn't get damaged) and the screw-drivers are backed by a lifetime warranty. The tips are magnetic (quite strong magnets at that) and the grip itself is quite strong (it didn't bend working as a lever to straighten my desk). The toolkit itself has a bunch of tools I didn't know I would find useful and the company website makes me WANT to find time to repair my old broken electronics, something I never thought I would say. I can safely and proudly support this product and this company at this moment whole-heartedly.

Cons: Yes, it is expensive. Yes, you can get comparative toolkits with lower-quality parts and less extensive warranties for a lower price. But as someone that cares about tech, the industry going forward, my impact on the planet I and my future kids will live in, and the longevity of the tools I buy, the price is worth it.

Conclusion: Buy it. If you need a toolkit that will last you a lifetime and want to contribute to something that is good for the environment, this is the only brand I can confidently recommend. Whether you get the entire toolkit or just the screw-drivers is up to you. But if you care about tech, the right to repair, and your impact on the planet while wanting to be a techie like me, this is it.

Non è economico, certamente si trovano set a meno, ma posso garantire che la qualità di iFixit è eccellente. In diversi anni di utilizzo mai una volta si è rovinata una punta.
