I first read the Dateline Memphis when LynDee Walker participated in the Elvis centric Christmas anthology, Heartache Motel, and just bought this standalone copy of the fun and intriguing tale. A visit to the home and museum of the music great to purchase a Christmas gift for her mother turns into a news reports dream. This novella is a great way for new readers to meet Nichelle Clark, crime reporter, and a happy plus for established fans. Less intense than the full-length novels, the book still offers a close personal connection with Nichelle as, on lock-down at Graceland, she tackles the excitement of a potential scoop of international interest and possible danger.

Wherever Nichelle goes she manages to get right into the middle of a story. This time a stop at Graceland to get her mother a Christmas gift leads to being locked in at Graceland due to a missing and very expensive artifact belonging to Elvis.

I'm a big fan of this series and recently finished it. Then I realized that there were two novellas I needed to read. Win for me! I highly recommend this whole series.

A theft and a lock in for all of the tourists has Nichelle sneaking around Graceland trying to find the stolen Elvis item and a slew of suspects with no help from the outside except telephone. A short little packed mystery!
